Great information. Could you please clear my doubt, that is what kind of speakers should you use to listen to the other participants properly in a zoom meeting. And how to avoid feedback/interference of the speakers audio into your microphone. I mean how to avoid your microphone catching the speaker audio output.
Hey hey Sunil! Thank you so much for checking out this video and asking a question! The easiest way is to purchase a wired headset with a mic like I show, or use something like bluetooth earbuds. This ensures that the participants voices goes straight into your ear and not into the microphone. If you don't want to wear headphones and only want to use external speakers, try having the speakers point away from you, you'll still be able to hear it, and it'll lessen the chance of the mic picking it up. Zoom does have a audio setting that should cancel out hearing the external speakers feedback, make sure this is turned on in your sound options. Hope this helps! Thanks again for stopping by! Thank you for this video! I only wish I had found it back in March! This has saved me so much time and money! Do you happen to have a recommendation on which brand is best for wired earbuds with a mic and do you know if there are any that have a mute button? A mute button right on the mic would be amazing for when I'm doing Zoom meetings and sharing a screen or splitting the screen so I don't have to minimize everything to search for mute on the Zoom window.
Hey hey Veronica! Thank you so much for checking out this video and commenting! I'm so glad this video was helpful! While I do not have personal experience with this specific headset, essentially I did a search for a gaming earbud set. Most times gaming headsets will have a manual Mute button on them. Heres one I found that I think will work. The reason I selected this specific one is incase you needed an adapter for your TRRS should you need it to mic up to a desktop or a enterprise Laptop that still have the traditional Headphone and Mic jack separately. This headset should also work with your modern cellphone as well (that has a headphone jack) Earbud Gaming Headset: amzn.to/2C4TBjO (These are my affiliate links, by using this link I get a small commission that directly supports the channel at no additional cost to you. Hey there, great tutorial. I'm looking to buy a microphone so my voice comes across clearly in a class I'm giving. I listened to the comparisons you gave using the various mic options but your voice sounded the absolute best in this video. What did you use to record it? Thanks so much.
Hey hey Susan Barth! Thank you so much for checking out this video and asking a question! The mic setup I used for this is more specific to a video camera instead of a laptop, so it won't necessarily work without jumping through some hoops. However I do have an upcoming video review of the RODE Videomic NTG that works quite well with camera and laptops, however I would suggest you check out the RODE NT USB review by Curtis Judd. Its a cheaper microphone and I think will serve your purpose better. He also has other USB microphones he's reviewed that will also help. Hey hey Phurich! Thank you so much for checking out this video and commenting! If you got the same Blue Yeti mic that I demonstrated in this video. Awesome thank you. But do you have to use headphones to hear the other person on the call? In other words, if you're using your speakers, won't the mic pick up their voice and screw things up? Or is there a way to isolate it so the mic will only pick up you? That doesn't sound right but I really want to know because I want the sound of others in my room and not in headphones. Thank you. The blue yeti looks and sounds great!
Hey hey Matt! Thank you so much for checking out this video and asking a question! So glad this video was helpful! In terms of if a mic will pick up your voice, generally speaking, not as much as you think. The reason is because pretty much all voice call and video conferencing software already have built in echo cancelation. Case and point, when you use your laptop or phones built in mic to do a facetime or video call. The Mics are literally right next to the speakers, but yet you don't hear yourself. Unless the person is hold the phone on the bottom and cupping the speaker and mic, thats the only time you may hear yourself, but otherwise you will be good. In terms of the Blue yeti, there are many cardioid patterns to choose from, simply pick the one where its only going to pick up sound in front of the mic and not behind, where your speakers are) Hope this makes sense! Thanks again for stopping by! Stay safe, healthy, and I’ll see you in the next one!

Great video. Thanks!. Have a quick Question. I m planning to buy a Bluetooth headset with MIC for my meetings on laptop. But most of these come with OKish MIC. And the better ones cost over 200$. So, if i use a external plugin MIC with 3.5mm pin in place of built in MIC on headphone on the aux port, will it work?
Hey hey malteshg! Thank you so much for checking out this video and asking a question! With laptops these days that have a combo port of Mic and Headphone, you'll need to make sure the external mic is a TRRS (3.5mm with three color rings) so that the computer can see it. However with this setup, depending on the computer, you may or may not be able to hear anything out of the external speakers as it assumes you have a Headphone+mic plugged in. I know for my Mac that when I plug in just a mic, I don't have the option to tell the laptop to just output sound. Perhaps you may want to look into a USB mic to negate this problem, there are some that sit on the desk like mine, or some that are headset based. That way you can still hear sound through your speakers or wherever you'd like to direct the sound of the person you're talking to. Hope this helps! Thanks again for stopping by! Stay safe, healthy, and I’ll see you in the next one!

what about if I just want to change the background b/c of my space. Besides using a virtual background... backdrop? curtain? Doing lives as well module type videos
Hey hey Linda! Thank you so much for checking out this video and asking a question! A backdrop or curtain could definitely work or you may try to orientate your setup so that you back is facing a solid color wall of any kind. In these cases with a more module type videos you may want to look into a little more lighting with one cheap softbox that is placed right in front of you and above your head at a 45 degree angle, angling down at you. This would just keep everything evenly lit and flat lighting. Hope this helps. Thanks again for stopping by! Stay safe, healthy, and I’ll see you in the next one!
@@TLDR_filmmaker TY for replying! I have I much lighting but only from 1 side which I positioned my desk to face so the light is on my face. I just put up a curtain and I'm going to try that 🤞

great video! quick question, when i use a USB microphone without a headset, wouldnt the sound of the other person be played through my speakers and re enter the mic causing a loop in the audio?
Hey hey Junda! Thank you so much for checking out this video and asking a question! In theory yes, however most video conferencing software have a built in loop detection and does some sort of magic to ensure that doesn't happen as often. Of course if speaker is loud the loop will probably happen as we've all heard ourselves echo back before on a smartphone when in speaker mode. Generally speaking, it's always a good idea to use headphones if you can. most USB mics have a headphone jack so you can use it in this fashion. Yout just have to go into your audio settings and make sure you tell you computer to use the USB mics headphone jack instead of the computers Headphone Jack. Hope this helps! Thanks again for stopping by! Stay safe, healthy, and I’ll see you in the next one!
Hey hey Sam! Thank you so much for checking out this video and asking a question! Unfortunately I don't have as much experience with multiple gaming headsets as I only purchased the one for my use with my PC gaming system. I would check out some gaming youtube channels to see what they recommend for budget headsets and hopefully they will do some mic tests in their reviews. Hope this helps! Thanks, man! I'm no stranger to making talking-head videos, but I don't know jack about live-streaming. Excuse me if I sound stooopid, but is it easy to connect a mirrorless cam to a phone and stream?
Hey hey Lillian! Thank you so much for checking out this video and commenting! You're most welcome! I actually not really experimented with mirrorless camera's that are able to perform live streams. However the concept is not too difficult. Essentially I believe you just connect your phone to the camera through a specific app made by the company. Only certain companies have this feature where you can use your smartphone to control the camera, some more in-depth than others. Then from there in the smartphone app, if it allows live streaming, you choose to live stream and it will ask most likely ask for your credentials for like youtube and facebook etc. After that I think you're good to go in terms of the streaming portion. Again the major part of this is the company's camera app designed for their cameras has to allow this live stream feature. If your camera doesn't have an smartphone app, and the app doesnt allow for live stream... then you're out of luck for the most part. Hope this makes sense! Thanks again for stopping by and I’ll see you in the next one!

Hey hey himanshu trivedi! Thank you so much for checking out this video and asking a question! Unfortunately I cannot really make a recommendation as I don't do mobile tech reviews. Hey hey Mustafa! Thank you so much for checking out this video and commenting! That would definitely be fun, but I'd have to have someone sponsor me the camcorders as I won't be making a purchase for the work that I do. That being said there are quite a few comparisons of pro-camcorders to DSLR. Essentially it comes down to a couple main things. They video image quality itself is good for just about anything people need these days. The Camcorder is true run and gun (ENG style) where you got everything you need it a tight nit package without having to attach and rig up everything like a DSLR. Where DSLR's are making waves and why people want to essentially turn them into a ENG style rig is because of that larger sensor and how you can strip it down to just a camera only as well as adapting many types of lenses for more visual style. That's really the two major points that stands out to me, the reason I don't have a prosumer style camcorder is because I need more control of my visual image with different lenses. But if a movie needed me to be extremely versatile and shot in a "docustyle" way, then I'd opt to probably use a camcorder setup over a DSLR. Could you mix the two together? Absolutely. A documentary filmmaker may want to use the camcorder as their principle camera as they go about, and only pull out a GH5 or Sony A6 with a wide aperture lens to get get the beauty shots. Of course at the end of the day, the filmmaker is going to have to assess their situation to see which overall setup will be best for their work. Hope this helps! Thanks again for stopping by and I’ll see you in the next one!
Thanks for this video. I've been trying to improve my video conference game. As a developer it is possible I'll be working from home for a long time (if not forever). I've found AirPods have given me the best audio so far and they are comfortable to wear. 👍
Hey hey Dan! Thank you so much for checking out this video and commenting! Airpods are definitely quite nice, unfortunately for me my ears are not shaped in such a way for those earbuds to stay in my ear :( I have to use the kind where there is a rubber earpiece and press it into my ear. I'm not sure why Apple never made a version like that. Hopefully you won't have to work from home forever, as an introvert myself it has been nice initially, but I do miss my colleagues. You are very handsome and look great on camera wearing a t-shirt. So I wondered why you would put others to wearing a nasty suit. Anyway, I enjoyed your video. The on-board microphone in your PC sounded much better than all the alternatives to me; but they were very cheap. I'm going to research some more expensive microphones, because even with my mid-range Logitech H800 headset, some people complain that it's difficult to hear what I'm saying... sometimes. Thanks for your video and... just... let us all look as cool as you, don't try to put us in suits - that's yuk!
Hey hey tschan1! Thank you so much for checking out this video and commenting! Glad you enjoyed the video and thanks for the kind words! I don't actually have a suit job unless I am to appear at a business corporate shoot, then I rock that suit! While at home, It's definitely a method to maintain routine if you are going to be in vide conferences. You generally do not want to lose your routine unless working from home becomes permanent, from there you can determine what works best for you to keep you productive. As for the Logitech H800, for some odd reason bluetooth sometimes will just completely diminish audio quality, even with cell phones, sometimes the the are near each other and the other person will not be able to hear me at loud volume until I end the call and call back. I do not know why this happens, but its been this way ever since bluetooth became more popular. This is why I generally do not like bluetooth anything, its not reliable enough for me. Thanks again for stopping by! Stay safe, healthy, and I’ll see you in the next one!
@@TLDR_filmmaker Thanks very much for your advice. I must admit, I never even considered the possibility that the quality of signal would change. I never understood why it had been fine when I tried an audio test, and then other people couldn't hear me. Great counsel! (I've worked from home for 20 years so that I could wear just what I like... I wouldn't give-up the freedom if it tripled my income.) :-D

This headset should also work with your modern cellphone as well (that has a headphone jack)

If you got the same Blue Yeti mic that I demonstrated in this video. Make sure you have it set to "cardioid" so that it is only picking up sounds in front of you. The front is the side with the glowing mute button.

In terms of the Blue yeti, there are many cardioid patterns to choose from, simply pick the one where its only going to pick up sound in front of the mic and not behind, where your speakers are)
Hope this makes sense!

Hope this helps!

what about if I just want to change the background b/c of my space.

Can you suggest best gaming headphones under $30?
Hey hey Sam!

Dear, i have a urgent requirement for an wireless/Bluetooth earphone or headphone with ANC, compatibility with Desktop for Skype calls. Not sure that shall i go for Neck bands (which one) or Earbuds (which one) or headphones (which one). Must be comfortable to take skype calls/video calls through laptop? latency needs to be less.

I have a tldr idea. Can you compare a camcorder like the Sony nx 700 or nx 80 or Jvc equivalent with a video dslr like a 6400 or gh5

@@TLDR_filmmaker Thanks very much for your advice. I must admit, I never even considered the possibility that the quality of signal would change. I never understood why it had been fine when I tried an audio test, and then other people couldn't hear me. Great counsel!
