    I found the video very useful, thanks. I've been driving for 58 years and now, I'm teaching a young friend to do so. She's doing well but still has a distance to go before she's ready to take the test. I came looking for hints about the test and what might cause a loss of points or instant failure, and the answers largely revealed themselves as I watched and listened to your video. We live in the country and have the added hazards of intersections that are badly overgrown and wild animals at dusk and dawn. Your tips about slowing on approach to Stop and Give Way signs, were valuable... as were your thoughts on merging onto highway situations. I grew up in Brisbane and knew every bit of your route so will make a point of taking my friend around it as part of her training. We are fortunate to have a large well marked car park at a nearby sportsfield which provides a great training facility for parking in every format. It's very revealing!!! 😅😅😅 Good stuff. Thanks again. Cheers... Chris Mathers. Lowood Qld.

    Hey driving test australia, im from Western Australia but I doubt that would make a difference in my question, but anyways im a beginner driver so please bare with me. I have a very dumb question.
    Could you give me a very descriptive reply on how to know when a car is coming your way in a round about? Sometimes my driving instructor says YES you can go, when originally I thought I couldn't and sometimes he says NO I can't go when originally I thought I could. For example on roundabouts I always hear give way to your right, so when I see a car on my right I hesitate and think it's coming to me when it's actually not, like how can I tell?? And sometimes there are roundabouts with no entrance to the right, so you have to anticipate where the car opposite to you is coming. Sorry I know im a bit dumb but i really want to become a good driver.

      Hey Sam, Oh noooo. This is a very legit question. You are not the only one who struggles with this. Many learners have difficulty judging this.
      There are a few things that we can see and notice to judge if they are coming our way or not.
      1. The drivers face and see where they are looking. People's facial expressions usually reveal what they are up to.
      2. Their car position and the position of their wheels. If they are exiting the roundabout, they position themselves towards the exiting road on your left. If they are coming your way, the head of their car is usually towards you too.
      3. Their speed. Everyone should slow down when navigating the roundabouts. How much people slow down depends on the shape and the size of the roundabouts too. Sometimes looking at the other cars' speed, you can kind of tell if they are coming inside the roundabout or if they are exiting.
      4. Their indicator. If other drivers indicate properly, it's quite clear for us where they are heading too.
      Roundabouts need a dedicated video which I have in my list of videos to make one for. You can get a better judgement of what other drivers are up to with more experience. So don't beat yourself up for now. I'll promise you'll get there.
      And lastly, no question is dumb. Please ask any questions you have. You can also join our private Facebook group, where other learners help to answer your questions too. Link in the video description 😊

    Driving test tomorrow and very nervous. Will I fail if I get asked to do a reverse parallel park and I can’t do it?

    • @drivingtestaustralia
      @drivingtestaustralia  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      If you're asked to do it, you need to do it. It depends what happens during the parking. For example if you end up too far from the curb, you'll get a minor mark, but if you mount the curb, that's a critical driving error and hence a fail. Relax. You may not even be asked to do it

      @@drivingtestaustraliathank you! I did really bad on my driving lesson this arvo which is not like me. I kept on hitting the road islands or curbs which is not like me and at least failed twice. Any advice on nerves?

      @jesikah1905 You're welcome. Unfortunately nerves get in the way of many learners when doing their driving tests.
      This video explains how to control your nerves for a driving test:
