  • How do driving examiners mark a QLD driving test? What do examiners look for in a driving test in QLD?
    This video answers these questions. Driving examiners hold a 'Driving Assessment Report Sheet', when they sit next to you on your practical driving test day.
    I have analyzed the QLD practical driving test marking sheet in this video, explaining every section of it in detail.
    The driving examiners, first, check the suitability of your car for driving test.
    There are 6 manoeuvres in a driving test in Queensland, which you will do two of these manoeuvres. Reverse parking (Reverse parallel parking), Turn around (Three point turn), U-turn, Hill start, Reversing exercise and gear changing (Automatic cars only).
    One of the manoeuvres that you will be doing must contain a reversing component.
    There are 9 car controls that you need to know about in your driving test in Australia. In pre-drive check, the examiners ask you about 2 of these controls.
    There are some criteria that are included in the test report form. The examiners evaluate your driving skills according to those criteria and score your driving test.
    These criteria are: ancillary controls, clutch, clutch coasting, stalling, accelerator, steering control, steering operation, braking, road position, manoeuvre position, left turn position, right turn position, observation/ scanning, shoulder checks, mirrors, signalling (indicating), traffic hazard, judgement, safety margins, progress, signs/signals/markings and speed.
    There are four types of driving errors in a driving test in QLD: Non-critical driving errors (NCDE), Specific repeated driving errors (SRDE), Critical driving errors (CDE) and General critical driving errors.
    General driving errors include intervention by driving examiner, collision, dangerous action and disobeying official direction.
    9 or more non-critical driving errors, one specific repeated driving error, one critical driving error or one general critical driving error is a fail in a QLD driving test.
    After watching this video you will know exactly what driving examiners mark you on and what you need to expect in a practical driving test in Queensland.

      @@Sherlock245 This is current and up-to-date. It is difficult to comment on how many hours are needed before the test, as everyone is different. Typically, after taking at least one or two hour-long lessons with an instructor, they will be able to let you know how many more hours you need before your test.

    Thanks for the videos!
    I've been googling and can't find an official answer to this question. For my practical test do I need to turn of all of my car's driving-assistance features like automatic speed warning and lane assist?
    I know reversing cameras are ok but I can't find info on other safety features.
    Cheers!

    • @drivingtestaustralia
      @drivingtestaustralia  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You're welcome.
      That's what they tell you when you go for the driving test: "If the vehicles is fitted with driver assist devices (for example GPS, speed alarms, park assist or easy start) please turn these devices off for the duration of the test, where possible or requested.".
      SO they ask you to turn these off, WHERE POSSIBLE OR REQUESTED. They prefer you to turn these off if possible.
      This is a part of the message the driving examiners ask you to read before you start the test. You can watch this video for the full message:

    With the test report sheet, I've got an idea on how it can be improved. Here's my idea:
    There is a box that asks if the student in the driving test has any condition that may affect their driving. The label will say "Conditions that may affect the student's driving" However, this box is only filled if the student has a condition that affects their driving.
    How it will work: The examiner will ask the student if they have a condition that may affect their performance in the driving test. If the student has a condition, the examiner will write down the type of condition that the student have.
    Examples:
    1: The student will tell the examiner that they have autism or ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder). The examiner will write down the word "Autism" or "Autism Spectrum Disorder".
    2: The student tells the examiner that they have poor visibility where they need something to wear glasses to improve observation. The examiner will write down the word "Poor visibility".
    Reasons on why this should be added:
    1: The examiner will be aware of the student's behaviour including their feelings and attitude during the test. They may try and help keep the student as calm as possible.
    2: If the student passes the test, their condition will be converted to the label "Conditions" in their driver licence card including their licence receipt too.
    3: May prevent people from failing to notify TMR their condition to risk themselves from getting a huge fine.

    • @drivingtestaustralia
      @drivingtestaustralia  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      This is a great point. They actually ask this question from all the driving test applicants when they fill out a form before they take their test.
      To make sure that this has been answered correctly, even the TMR agents who do the driving test registrations, ask about that again, and write down any specific conditions that the applicants may have.
      So this has been taken into consideration already, just not included in the test report sheet. 🙂

    What Qld legislation requires dashcams to be disabled during driving tests? Just had a teen failed for doing 45 in a school zone after being told by the assessor to speed up because the limit was 60 & he was doing 40, so a record of any misconduct would be nice to have when submitting a misconduct complaint. I've hunted everywhere, but can't find any legal requirement to disable them

    • @drivingtestaustralia
      @drivingtestaustralia  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      There are no requirements for the dashcams to be disabled. Dashcams can be installed and used to record. However, they must not record the cabin, and voice recording must be disabled for privacy reasons.
      Examiners do not ask driving test applicants to do anything illegal, nor do they trick them.

    • @drivingtestaustralia

      Speeding is an instant fail. Driving too slow for the situation is a mark down.

    Hello, is failing to check blind spot whilst doing a hill start a critical error?

    • @drivingtestaustralia
      @drivingtestaustralia  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It depends on the situation. If another vehicle happens to be in your blindspot at the moment you start driving, that's critical. But if there is no one there, it's a non-critical driving error.

  • @raquelcianciola9219
    @raquelcianciola9219 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Speeding is illegal and is an instant fail, but for example you are going gown a hill on a 60 road. the speed increases because of the hill and you are breaking but it goes to 61km but you instantly change it and start breaking faster. Is that still a fail because of the instant reaction?

    • @drivingtestaustralia
      @drivingtestaustralia  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes it is. Even 1 k over the speed limit is an instant fail. In a test situation, speed control an ability that examiners check to see if driver licence applicants possess

      @drivingtestaustralia  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Aoi. Roundabouts don't have any specific speed limit. The roads do. If there is a roundabout in a road with the speed limit of 30kmph, you need to make sure you don't drive over 30 even in that roundabout. Driving over the speed limit is an instant fail :)
