C'mon Archie, we are not in the 80s, when BMW was a top quality product, with 10% depreciation per year, and cars designed to last 20 years. Today's BMW is designed to be recycled within 7-8 years.
Sadly true.
That's also true of quartz luxury watches of late. Around 2000 and earlier the 7-9 jewel ETA quarts was common. Today it's likely to be a zero (0) jewel movement on a watch costing a few thousand $$$.
Even 911 depreciate these days!
I had that 3 series
Its the best made car in that class and you can really not complain about the materials used in it, in my opinion.
@@MoonayMultipliar Totally agree. I had beemers, mercs etc.
could have been worse, you could have bought an EV
They don’t depreciate close to this bad…
Hair by massive depreciation
Horns by massive appreciation. They seem to get bigger by the year.
and also brain...
Didn't you lease this shitter, Archie?
Cars are so much worse than watches. People lose value equal to a steel stunner every single year, just for some sensory stimulation and delusions of prestige.
nope. i use car every day and want it nice and comfy. but you must be able to afford it oc...
BMW depreciation: it's mean, nasty, and vicious!
especially for mean nasty vicious cheap fikers
You could have gotten a 2-3 year older 5 series that had already significantly depreciated for the same money. Cars depreciate the most in the first and 2nd year. There is literally not difference in technology, depending on the spec, and no one can tell it's a little older, plus it's a 5 series where you can actually fit!
Archie, you need to buy a vowel in your title
A 21 minute video that could have been told in five minutes.
It’s the car of a pizza delivery Moroccan kid in Germany
What is worse than losing that much on a car, is losing that much on a car you rarely drive and always worry about, like where to park it in a shopping centre.
Man is shocked that a commercial entity that wishes to sell used vehicles does not also purchase them at the same price

Archie thought his luxury car would appreciate just like his luxury watches. 😂
Hair by 5 Year Service Package
Hair by depreciating hair line.
truth is very simple: he "bought" (i.e. leased) it expensive because he had to finance everything. strictly dumb move.
I get very stiff when Archie gets pounded by depreciation.
Um, is this part 4 that was promised? Where is the fight with BMW?
Archie, if you have a guaranteed future value at the end of your finance period and your intention is to return the car, then I do not know why you bother waxing the car and covering it up in the garage and wasting money with extras such as tinted windows because all you are doing is renting the car from BMW. You are buying the tinted windows and looking after the car for the benefit of the dealership and second owner. Nice one Arch 👍.
Hair by losing your ass on a Beemer.
Seikos hold their value better..
If you can afford a BMW then you should give a shite about the depreciation. Not for an Australian Millionaire like you Arch.
Keep it serviced and use it for the rest of your life Archie.
Assuming all this angst is over whether to buyout the lease or return the car back to BMW. The residual value after 3 years Set in your lease should be a standard 55-60% (non negotiable set by corporate). So, at the time you signed the lease you agreed to pay for the privilege of losing 40-45% over 3 years. Hence, the large depreciation should not be a surprised to you! You in fact bargained hard to sign on to this money sink in 2021. Look at it this way, all those envious glances from overweight middle aged white guys/ gals watching you cruise by in your premium 4 cylinder executive salon to Pizza Capers over the last 2 years was a bargain. Now, big boy, go back to Manager Tim, appologize, then sign up for that I4 and another 3 years of BMW buggering.
Anyone remember SALE OF THE CENTURY! 😎
My 2014 Nissan has almost doubled in value. ( R35 ) You're not the brightest light are you Pluta
Has the sunroof started leaking yet? dont worry, you won't notice it until the warranty is up. Cheers.
A car is an investment?
Buy used, just like watches
True, he always preaches buy used.
The German cars all depreciate substantially. The primary reason is that they are very expensive to repair after the new car warranty expires. The lesson to be learned here is: get a Lexus. Lexus has the best resale value, the best quality and you can easily put 200,000 miles on a Lexus if it is properly cared for. A Lexus dealer near me sometimes has used Lexus vehicles for sale with over 200,000 miles and people buy them.
Time to trade up Arch and get a brand new M5 Competition
Come on Archie! You've gotta stick with the Japanse staples. Definitely better than those bottomless money pits that come out of Europe.
A 3 series screams luxury
TSCMID
Plus Archie got a lease deal for the BMW.
At 1:44. That's a poor man's BMW if there ever was one.
Do a instant quote see what it comes up with
you've only lost 48 percent of your money if you trade to the I4 or something similar. just keep it.
Cars are not investments. Especially luxury vehicles like BMWs. If you’re worried about depreciation, you should never buy a luxury car. Hondas and Toyotas retain better value, but still depreciate. Invest in the market, not fancy cars that will eventually be a bucket of bolts
Archie - your spelling is depreciating too, son…
Depreciation Sponsored By Depression
Resale value on BMW'S the way the current market is worldwide is shitty, so is Audi's resale value, Mercedes is not much better either.
At 4 years old it will have lost 96% depreciation. You could then swap it phor a used Toyota Aqua.
Funny, for a guy who claims he has nothing, certainly doing alright, or, bought on the Bank of never never😅
Won’t sell it for 48

Welcome to the Archie poverty channel
Hey Archie, you appear to be in need of a refresher course in simple arithmetic! Your claim that the USD is about 30% stronger than AUD is way off the mark! ... On current exchange rates:1 USD = 1.50 AUD; 1 AUD = 0.67 USD. ie Currently, USD is 50% stronger than AUD! Cheers! 😊⭐👊✨
The guy complains about depreciation but wants to buy a fucking i4 35... you know you can buy a 400+ horsepower Tesla for less money right.. Archie.. you are aware of that i hope.
3 series isn’t a luxury car 🚙
Try to convince him
It’s the car equivalent of a TAG Heuer. Buy a Bentley or go home big boy
Sell your Rolexes and wear a Seiko with a Ferrari

No one buys a new BMW, even in germany...
You only buy a new one, if your employer pays for it and the employer doesnt care, because he writes it off.
BMWs nowadays are mainly made for the chinese market, dont buy it new!!!
Stick to Toyota. Nobody will suspect that you have a nice watch on the wist.
Go Lexus.
They are reliable luxury.
They are not luxury. Boring to drive, old tech. Might as well buy high level new Toyota
I bought my Toyota Avensis 9 years ago for £3000 its now 17 years old and still worth £2500
