I'm listening thru some top end Senheiser headphones and this sounds so nice, open, airy and it has that Kiwi vibe... kinda like the sonic version of the crisp 'seaweed and salt' breeze while surfcasting on the beach at BayView, listening to the rocks 'grainy overdrive' as they knock together in the surf. This tone, in my humble opinion, has vibes of early Split Enz/Hello Sailor/Swingers ... I would guess that the bridge pickup driven hard could get a good early British punk grit to it....
As someone with serious G.A.S. I have a Ibanez AS53 Hollow Body Electric that plays well acoustically but is a bit 'meh' or flat plugged in. Even with new strings.
Obviously the sound on this clip is a combination of ALL your instrument, woods/strings/pot choice/wiring/lead/amp/effects... etc; not just the pickups, but do you think whatever set of yours that you have put in this guitar would bring my Ibanez to life?
    Keen to hear your thoughts.
Im the guy with the Gretsch upgrade project and my new bass build I questioned you about on TradeMe.
Also a designer by trade designing, spec'ing, building and installing for my clients all and pretty much everything that everyone else says no to. From a 8m replica of the Eifell Tower as a digitally printed truck-tarp tent for Renault NZ, bespoke structural signage, visual displays and branding, to a Beatles themed set of rubbbish bins for a nice lady in Taupo. And a wild selection in between.
I'm challenged every day and my job is to break the norm and deliver unconventional solutions.
In Stapleton I see a kindred spirit so, as a Muso also, I am keen to check out the wares... after some good advice of course.

Hi Chris, you've got such an interesting job, awesome projects 🙂 Thanks for your kind words! I loved your description of the sound, such a great vibe it is, happy that people like how my pickups are made.
On this video I use high output pickups with Alnico 5 & Alnico 2. But I'm afraid it could be too much for the hollow body so I would suggest to go with the medium output humbuckers with Alnico 5 in neck and Alnico 2 in bridge positions. Here is the link to this set: www.stapletonguitars.com/collections/medium-output-humbucker-pickups/products/medium-output-handmade-split-coil-humbucker-pickup-set
Also you could get great sound with low output set too - especially with some overdrive. Link: www.stapletonguitars.com/collections/low-output-humbucker-pickups/products/low-output-handmade-split-coil-humbucker-pickup-set
      Cheers,
      Roman
