Great interview. My first concert was EPMD, Public Enemy, RUN DMC in 1988.
Much respect to Chuck D , ive always enjoy learning from him. Every time i listen to him, i learn something new.
I grew up in Uniondale and Roosevelt...I lived in the apartment building Eddie moved into in Hempstead, Long Island when he first started SNL. When the limo came for him he would spend at least a 1/2 hr standing out there talking to the little kids who were in awe of him. Much respect for him!

I'm a 70s baby and the Pittsburgh Pirates was my team. A lot of these youngsters don't know what it was like to see that. An all black baseball team.
While it is impressive. I believe a team should be made of blacks whites hispanics. All black is against unity, I think
@@toolrammsteindeftones - You're missing the point. Yes unity is important, but minorities had to prove themselves. Having a team that's all Black when Black is looked at as negative is a way for 1) Blacks to get an opportunity. 2) They are playing at a high level amongst people that look like them and can genuinely appreciate their abilities. They all have a common goal. Being the only person of color on any sports team, you can get lost in the shuffle. Especially if you don't stand out. You should know that minorities have to be ten times better than a whole white team.

For me this shows growth. The fact that Dan Patrick can have a Chuck D on his show. Shows that white people are evolving.

It's not against light-skinned people. It's about against a system that benefits those considered white. The system is crap, it's not about individual X or Y. When we look back generations ago, we probably were from Africa anyway and got mixed depending on climate. We probably still have more genetically in common than what we first might think. Being white is a bad idea/white supremacy and power. We got to go beyond race
