For me, superhero movies are just fun. I enjoy seeing the many versions of my favorite characters from when I was a child. I could watch any actor or actress play my favorite hero's and villains. Yes, that does mean famous male characters being played by female actresses. For me it's not about what's accurate, it's about how good they can do it. Some of them are good, some of them are bad.. I'm just thankful I get to have this. As a child I always thought the cartoons on the saturday mornings would be the most we get for these comic characters. Every time I see/hear someone talk negatively about superhero movies or tv shows, it worries me that it might end.
I completely get that feeling. I've still got a collection of Marvel and DC comicbooks from """before it was cool""", so seeing them al on the big screen was, and still is, an amazing feeling. I don't think you have to worry about superhero movies dissapearing though. Superhero movies have established themselves as a widely enjoyed action sub-genre, and while they might not be the top grossing movies in the future, they'll definitely stick around with the massive fanbase it's garnered over the years. Also remember, the animated Superman movies were made all the way back in 1940's, so for the genre to completely die out would be absolutely mind-boggling
Across the Spiderverse is DEFINITELY kino. Unless 'The Boy and the Heron' ends up being one of Ghiblis best movies alongside Spirited Away, Spiderman is definitely winning an Oscar for Best Animation this year
Theme parks may not be "art" in Martin Scorsese's eyes but it's valid too enjoy them and genuine passion goes into them
