Yes banana is high in sugar but it also contains a lot of nutrients which important for our bodies. Our bodies will turn sugar into energy and banana is high in potasium which assists in a range of essential body functions.
Bananas actually has very little potassium in compared to RDAs and do have a lot of sugar, like have 3 bananas a day and boom, half your RDA for sugar is met (and 90g RDA is already really generous).
Monica Wong I was kinda looking at her like “wtf, who do you think you are??!”...acting like james charles thinking she knows every damn thing. I HATE when beauty gurus act like they know EVERYTHING from skincare, to makeup, to brushes etc in this industry. it’s annoying and makes me give them the side eye. we all don’t know everything ok?! gosh. that really just pissed me off
Maybe someone has mentioned this.. but the foundation is oil based - and you're blending it with a wet beauty blender. Water and oil don't mix and separate from each other. I blend this foundation with a synthetic bristle brush or my fingers.
right! lol i love this foundation and i have dryer skin right now and use my fingers or a brush as well in thin layers til i get the coverage i want! maybe shed like it better if she applied it that way. i thought they usually do half face with brush and other with sponge or whatever anyways but she didnt to see which would have been better but still, water and oil dont mix thought she would have known that! but anyways, i love this foundation and concealer 🤗
I think most always cared we are just now paying better attention because you would think things like that are not aloud but they are It's nice to know we have options
Hey Tati, I’ve been using natural certified skincare and makeup products for almost 10 years and tried a lot. Here are some products I love: I have combo skin, which is very prone to acne. Powders: Antipodes - Mineral Skin Finishing Powder RMS Un Powder Foundation: Juice Beauty Flawless Serum Foundation Mascara: PHB Ethical Beauty (no smudging, gives volume and length. I’ve had Kjaer Weis, Ilia, 100%pure, and what not, but this one is the best) Lipsticks: ILIA Beauty 100%pure make have great highlighters. Regards, Karoline
I need Help!... I wanna Try Organic Make-up too. But I read everytime this -> [+/-: Titanium Dioxide (CI77891), Iron Oxides (CI 77491, 77492, 77499)] What is this? ...
I think you should invite a chemist to educate you and your viewers about these ingredients. A lot of 'controversial' ingredients aren't 'bad' per say and the situation is hardly ever as black and white as we try to make it out to be. Regardless I'm really proud of you for taking the initiative to learn about this! It's worth checking out why certain ingredients are in cosmetics and what role they play, the chemistry of it is really interesting actually (shout out to all my other bio/chem people eyyyyy) and talking about it on your channel would be a GREAT way to encourage young people to go into STEM- we especially need more girls studying science!!!
@@charmax88 yep! And also how often it's used, a little bit in a product that's used twice a day is going to be worse than a product used once a week with a little bit more lead in it.
I would appreciate this! I know I personally have some allergies and extremely sensitive eyes, so I can't wear certain ingredients, but what is bad in general? The only one I hear consistently is Talc
Just a (not so) quick *GUIDELINE* for skincare and makeup; - Natural is NOT automatically better. Matter of fact, a lot of natural ingredients are harsh and irritants for the skin, while a lot of chemical ingredients are very beneficial for your skin. - Parabens are NOT (particularly) bad. It's something the cosmetic industry started marketing to make you buy their products without parabens more. A very early study concluded parabens are bad, but this is FALSE and has been debunked by numerous different and recent studies. Parabens could be an irritant for a small amount of people, but generally not. *Please do your own research on this subject as there are numerous different researches on this and opinions from dermatologists.* - Mineral oil is NOT bad according to research, though some people have reported it makes them break out. People are very divided on this oil, but definitely don't be afraid to try products that contain Mineral Oil. - Mostly avoid any frangrance (perfume, essential oils like lavender etc), Alcohol (Denatured Alcohol, commonly called Alcohol Denat) and SLS (Sodium Laureth Sulfate, mostly in cleansers) in your skincare and makeup. These ingredients have no benefit, are very likely to irritate your skin and disrupt your skin moisture barrier. It WILL dry out your skin, make it more prone to redness and inflammation. - Fatty alcohols are GOOD (ingredients like cetearyl alcohol, cetyl alcohol, stearyl alcohol). These will help ingredients penetrate the skin better and will not dry your skin out. It can be comedogenic for a very small amount of people again. - Don't be affraid to put a facial oil on your skin or use makeup that has oil in it. Rosehip, Squalane, Jojoba and/or Argan oil for example are great oils. Make sure you do your research on them though, as some oils can be highly comedogenic, like coconut oil. - Don't dry your oily skin out with harsh drying cleansers and super mattifying setting sprays etc. It will make your skin more oily. Moisturizing, hydrating and nourishing oily skin can actually make your skin a lot less oily. Yes, applying an oil at night can make your skin less oily ;) - Always baby your skin. So do not wipe your face dry, pat. Change your pillow case frequently, always take off your makeup, don't take long hot showers, etc. - Vaseline is great and non comedogenic. The molecules are simply too big. As long as you cleanse your skin right, a tiny layer of vaseline over your moisturizer at night can make a world of difference as it prevents Trans Epidermal Water Loss.
L O R E N Z O Thank you for this. I used to avoid oil in my skin care products because I have super oily skin, but I found that once I started incorporating oils in my daily moisturizer or even just using an oil at bedtime, my skin started to feel less oily and more balanced. I don’t like coconut oil in my face products either.
@@cherrypie3830 This has been contradicted by many studies once again. Also, this study was performed in vitro and in an acqueous solution which changes the effect drastically. There's generally no concern to be found with Methylparaben ;)
Thank you for being a voice of reason. Natural is not always good, synthetic or unnatural is not always bad. It is however bad to start carpet-labeling broad groups of ingredients as one thing or another. Education is so important, but half-education (cursory glances through material that may or may not be truthful,) can be dangerous or at the very least, extremely misleading. I applaud Tati for trying to mindful of what she uses. Everyone should seek to educate themselves on what they use every day. But I wish she'd be much more thorough about it.
Madison Gibson Yup! All these idiots that are dragging her saying “you aren’t a chemist, doctor, professional, etc.” are literally doing the same thing by telling her she’s wrong. You know how it is, suddenly all these people on TH-cam have a degree in EVERYTHING.
The biggest issue I have with natural make up is keeping it on for more than a few hours. I feel like it just melts off of my face! Glad you're testing out a whole lot of new natural stuff!
Try Pür, if yoy have dry skin go with the powder, I know it seems weird but I have eczema and it works really well for me, just moisturize before hand, I use Tatcha ageless moisturizer, no primer. If yoy have oily skin, try bare it all. Both of those have been very successful on my skin, I wear bare it all in summer because even though I have eczema I get oily in summer, let me know if you try them and if they work out 💗
Oh and PS I wear my Pür powder to work, I work in food service and I am around super hot ovens and broilers and my makeup looks fab all day. I am sure the powder will also work well for oily skin. I wear the powder more than I wear liquid, I have it illuminating CC cream and it actually dries me out but the pur powder doesn't its like velvety smooth
@@katlady5000 she should have never used an oil based foundation with oily skin, recipe for disaster, even if she had set it, just no. I have dry skin and I still usually use matte foundations I just use an emollient moisturizer as a primer to keep from getting dry and I set with a hydrating setting spray.
I have the same issue. I used to be very picky about clean makeup but I couldn't find things that were reasonably priced and worked for my skin. So right now I use a Smashbox poreless primer with my Bare Minerals powder foundation. Its all about balance and doing the best you can. I'm still really picky about clean skincare thankfully that is easier to find.
The absence of one thing doesn't automatically prove the presence of its opposite. Just because something doesn't have a "Clean at Sephora" label, doesn't mean it automatically contains formaldehyde releasers in its formulation. Tom Ford doesn't have a Clean at Sephora label, but upon comparing the list of ingredients in their stick foundation to the list Sephora provides to obtain the "Clean" badge, the product meets those standards yet it doesn't have the seal. It makes you question how some of these brands get that seal, and my strong suspicion is that it all comes down to money used to market that brand. I think it's important to question the parameters set by even those you're inclined to trust. What motivated them to even create a "Clean at Sephora" section? Probably because it's a trend now and they wanted to capitalize on it.
Pacifica is launching a full coverage foundation in January! They have cleaner ingredients than typical drugstore brands so I’m excited to see what it’s like! It’s going to have 30 shade and it’s going to be $14.
The Pacifica cleanser I purchased had parabens... I like she is helping her group be aware of ingredients in skincare .. If we can read, we can be aware and do our own research. I like some brands but I just got a brand of serum that was natural but first 20 ingredients are emulsifiers and the fragrance... wow.. I use on legs now mixing with marula oil. Good Job Tati.
Anyone else thinking that Tati’s ‘mission’ is a hint to her coming out with a CLEAN makeup line?! She’s become so funny with ingredients recently- maybe because she’s learning what is going into them... *cough* her own makeup....
absolutely what I've been thinking. I really love Tati and enjoy hearing her viewpoint on so many things. I appreciate her humor and the personal touches that mark her videos. And, though I wish her much success with her products she has developed, I'm really beginning to feel like a captive audience being preached to (too often lately) about things I don't really give a fig about. I suspect a new release is coming soon. I just hope it won't be at the expense of the amazing videos I've become accustomed to :(
She said that she had a cancer scare recently and that's why she's wanting to look into products with better ingredients. She's fine but that's just what prompted all this.
Maybe you should do a video with an actual medical professional who can go through ingredients with you. So, it could be a learning opportunity for you and the audience. I feel like you might be falling into that trap of "all chemicals are bad" which obviously isn't true because everything is a chemical. It confuses people, and it looks like it's also frustrating people. Just saying as constructive criticism. Also I love that Josie Maran foundation for my dry skin. It's really not meant for oily or even slightly oily skin. My skin always feels better after wearing that foundation for a bit and taking it off. So soft 😍
Efaya13 YES!!! And why not also a product developer? Get an actual professional insight and explanation of why the ingredients are in the products. And what are their potential dangers. Not just blabbing about the “bad ingredients” without even knowing the real deal.
Amen, sister!! I have dry skin, too! Would you mind telling me if the Joisie Maran foundation have any sort of a scent? My skin is super sensitive. I need to check to see if they have a shade light enough for me. Otherwise, I’ll keep using my beloved RMS Un-Cover Up. If you do try it, you need their brush to get the most out of it and not have your brush eat the product. Even my densest brush didn’t do the job with it! It’s not an expensive brush, especially not because it’s very unique and truly works amazingly well! Thank you so much for sharing!! I hope you have a merry Christmas and a happy, healthy new year!!☺️🎄🎅🏻🤶🏻🎁🎄
@@leahbrandman7549, you should look into K beauty. I have been using Missha skin care for over a year on my sensitive, now dry (used to be uber-oily) skin and have had no problems. I have also switched over to mostly K beauty cosmetics as well. Many are designed for sensitive skin.
Uuuuh, I'll have to look into that foundation!!! I have such dry, flaky skin, maybe this one would be the answer to my foundation dreams. Thanks for sharing your experience!
I hope Tati researches further into learning about good vs. bad ingredientes. otherwise I'll be a little concerned about her future "clean makeup line" if there is one. ~~ anyone interested in real skincare advice should just watch Dr. Dray (dermatologist)
Amanda Z I’ve never seen any clean beauty brand or channel fear monger though. The message is more like, “this is what the products are free of, decide for yourself” In fact, I don’t think individual ingredients are really talked about enough. I do agree with peer reviewed fact based beauty though.
Amanda Bellard she’s also said she works with doctors & chemists to formulate her Halo products. So why doesn’t she just bring on of them on or get her info directly from a creditable/educated source?!
FYI, coal tar is commonly used on problem skin to slow the rapid cellular regeneration which causes flakes, irritation and redness. Think psoriasis, dermatitis, and eczema. “Ew” it if you like, but its kind of a bloody great thing for keeping your skin from cracking apart.
Coal tar has been a life saver for my bf's cracked bleeding psoriasis. I wouldn't recommended it for everybody, but I feel like there's a time and a place for most of these "unclean" ingredients.
YES. Thank you for saying this. Coal tar has literally saved my skin. The concentrations used for treating psoriasis and in other skin and haircare products is relatively miniscule.
Blue Strickland a better label might be arsenic is organic, so is coco leaves and marijuana, they’re from the earth. Natural is such a buzzword, but it’s also watered down and used by companies that claim to be natural but aren’t.
@@pongo5271 Exactly! I work in cosmetics and try to tell guests vegan and organic also means there's no stoppers in it. Like I got a chemical burn from a serum from Juice Beauty.
She's probably in research mode to create a competitive clean foundation line. Everyone would buy it and she'd be dumb not to try to go for that money.
sojirofreak i thought the same thing. Tati is setting up her interest in “clean” products so when she brings out her line of makeup or skincare it wont be a surprise like when she launched Halo. I love Tati but your subscribers are very savvy 😉
i would suggest people watch dermatologist Dr. Drey's youtube channel. she discusses topics on mineral oil, parabens, dimethicone and essential oils and fragrance. she cites the medical literature. she's a wealth of knowledge. just so you know, she has no problems with parabens, dimethicone, mineral oil and medical grade petrolatum .
I love Dr. Dray! I've learned so much from her. I just found her so I'm curious to see how the products and ingredients she recommends work in the long term
Tati, I am extremely excited to see that you are doing a series on Clean Beauty. It's something that I have been trying to switch to for a few years now. A lot of the more organic makeup without synthetic ingredients costs more to produce, and as a result a lot harder for lower income makeup lovers to purchase to test for themselves. (And in some cases expires faster.) I strongly value your opinion on what makeup is most worth my hard earned dollars and really appreciate you spending your money on these products on my behalf. I am eagerly looking forward to future videos in this series. You do what's best for you, I'm with you on this journey. In regards to some of the comments I'm reading: 1. I feel people aren't understanding that you're not giving up testing other makeup and that you're still flexible as to the parameters of the ingredients you're comfortable in using. 2. People need to realize that yes, you may be an influencer, but they're still responsible for their own thoughts and actions. Question everything. Find the answers for yourself. 3. Not all medical knowledge has been properly tested or vetted. Results of studies can be skewed, misrepresented, or manipulated. (Ancel Keys anyone?) This goes both ways. Better to err on the side of caution. And it is up to each individual to decide what that is. 4. Our skin is our largest organ and absorbs what comes into contact with it very quickly. In addition, people can develop allergies at any point in their life for various reasons. I think in general, what you take in effects the person you are, whether that's through your skin and mouth or what you watch and listen to. It's just better to be careful in the 1st place. Love your channel! ~Sara
You can get some of these at the drug store or Target now, which is so nice. I was on the Target website earlier and they have a "Clean" section for makeup, skin care, cleaning, etc. The price points are budget friendly.
Omg k I’m a medical skincare specialist. I understand the pros and cons to nearly every ingredient and clearly, Tati, you need some professionals to steer you in the right direction. I’m all for what you are TRYING to do here however you’re falling into a trap of “EVERYTHING IS BAD” guess what?? There are plenty of “natural” ingredients that are also “bad” and sometimes natural can be worse for sensitive skin than manufactured ingredients. There is SO much more to all this than you realize and by preaching the way you are you are adding to stigma and possibly even steering people in the wrong direction. Relax on this topic until you’ve had more experience with a medical professional PLEASE
Glitter &Omnom She may or may not be right about her hypothesis--natural makeup is better for your skin--but she is providing consumer advice. If consumerism creates the culture of buying into this idea, it seems like she would talk about the makeup created in that environment, good or bad, right or wrong.
I understand what you’re saying, but I’m sure she specified that she’s not an expert here. Generally speaking though, I feel that she was very clear on natural ingredients being problematic as well, like coconut oil, and other heavier oils. So idk I think she was fine.
I agree with you. There was some point in here in which I was just rolled my eyes. I appreciate her intentions and think she has some great points, BUT as soon as she was saying I’m not an expert, she was saying “cancer causing” just odd
.... Wait, one serving of Watermelon is higher in sugar than a single banana. ... And regardless, sugar, especially natural sugars aren't your enemy. Over eating, not exercising, poverty, corporate greed, undiagnosed medical problems - that's the bigger issue when it comes to staying healthy.
It's not. Watermelon is lower in sugar if you go by percentage, but you're absolutely right in that you tend to eat way more watermelon in 1 sitting than you do in a banana.
@@maysaniyazova I was going off of the standard carbohydrates in a single watermelon wedge, which is around 18g, vs a single medium banana which is 14g.
Please everyone do your own research on the ingredients in your makeup products and other products! Just because something is natural or “clean”, does not mean that it is actually better for you!!
Agreed! Parabens are also safe and not "causing cancer" - it's all a marketing move to make you feel better and buy the product. Unfortunately a lot of misinformation here :(
Hey Tati! I love your channel and watch every day!! I am a certified artist at Sephora and have been trained on a lot of these brands you are you are testing. Try the Josie Maran foundation with a lightweight non silicone based primer! (I personally like the Becca first light primer with it. That primer over time helps to minimize the pores as well.) The foundation has smoothing properties like ginger in it which means you won’t need a smoothing primer necessarily. (And ginger will help to minimizes pores and redness on its own so the more it’s used the less you’ll need over time. There also is dimethcone like you said in the foundation so you could have just had too many silicones on your skin which is probably why you felt oily. Also the tatcha silk canvas you used too much. Taking 2 fingertips swirl on the top of the primer then warmed up in the fingertips and press into the pores only where you need it. (kind of like how you use the tarte primer!) It will sits so much better on the skin! And as far as a matte clean foundation try cover fx powerplay! Which I feel like you may have tried before! They have a setting powder as well! The whole line is completely clean and even says on the gondola! Hope this helps!!
Elle 1996 never said I was an expert I just said I have been trained on these brands... 10 years in the industry and working on several skin types daily also helps.
Everyone is going on about what is in the makeup...... What about the environment???. All the non bio degradable containers. And then the setting sprays.... Why???
All those aerosol setting sprays and primers are so concerning to me. Especially that one product that's literally just water in a spray can? Like... Really?

I'm just tired of reading the comments of people who just say "using any chemical can be toxic in certain quantities".... UMMM I would prefer NOT to use scientifically PROVEN carcinogens on my face if I can avoid it.I don't know why everyone has to put down the idea of green beauty when there is absolutely NOTHING wrong with using safer ingredients in and on your body... although you are not a scientist or a dermatologist I still appreciate the attempt to recommend safer and cleaner products.

Watermelon is not better than bananas.... They are both fruit, both have fiber and vitamins and minerals, the banana having more nutrients since watermelon is almost all water. Fresh fruit is nature's healing remedy and we cannot get enough of ALL fruits.
I'm not talking about GMOs I'm talking about the evolution of fruits critiqued by scientists throughout the years that effect all fruit not just non organic
In fact, when you talk about blood sugar, watermelon causes a much faster sugar spike, and is worse for you than a banana, which is much higher In fiber!! 0.94/100grams for watermelon and 2.6/100grams for banana. She is so ignorant at times, it makes me cringe so bad. And yes, bananas have a much higher sugar content, BUT people tend to eat way more watermelon in 1 sitting than they do bananas. Think about it. When did you last eat 2 bananas in a row. Meanwhile, watermelon, because it's so refreshing and watery, you just eat and eat and eat. Ugh.
Everyones mad about the chemicals where as I'm just annoyed that she said bananas have too much sugar 🤔, quite false information, especially since its natural healthy sugars unlike eating a candy bar This information really messes with people's dieting Tati. trying to figure out what to eat and your dietitian and from my experience with my Science backed Eating template for Athletes CONFIRMS THAT BANANAs are GOOD for you then all of a sudden bananas have too much sugar? No, keep living your lives eating bananas they're good for you
Im all for healthy, but she hasn't done her research on the toxin that is stevia and swears by it Its really quite misleading This kind of eating should be backed by a nutritionist do your research people
Todays bananas aren't like original bananas, same with apples, things have been modified to be way more sugary. Bananas do have too much sugar, I didn't even here her say that.
I'm pretty sure that there's not a difference between "healthy natural sugar" and regular sugar. If u eat a piece of fruit ur body treats it as if u ate some candy. I've been doing keto for many years and the FIRST thing they tell u is that even though u have an apple for instance, ur body can't tell if it's sugar from nature or from a candy bar. Sugar is sugar. Glucose is glucose. 😊
@@Tati I am GF and love living with less chemicals all around me. I'm thankful you are pitching some really bad stuff in your skincare. Stay beautiful Tati 💜❤️💙

I'm so happy you are getting into "green" makeup. Beware of the brands that are called "green washed". If you haven't already check out the Credo Beauty website and also Safe & Chic for even more information on green beauty products. For foundation look into the brand Gressa.
As a nurse, I have to say this: while I love watching Tati’s videos, there is some misinformation on this platform regarding “clean” ingredients/practices (dry brushing, for instance, is useless and can be harmful, leading to skin lichenfication). Please, please do your research and ask a physician if you want to know if something is safe for you to use. And please also remember that your skin is a barrier and you have a liver, you do not need “detoxifying”.
Lauchzweibel: think what you like, just do your research. Dry brushing generally won’t cause harm, but it’s not doing anything useful. It can also be harmful to those with diabetes, skin conditions, PAD, any condition that causes immunosuppression, etc.
yes, dr. drey is against dry brushing, she breaks it down for you, she's a dermatologist in houston. i remember her saying how harmful dry brusing is, it irritates the skins barrier and causes a waxy oily build up on the skin the try to protect the barrier, or something to that .
I know I’m a little late but TATI SUGAR IN FRUIT IS NOT BAD. I know it’s not the point of the video but you pointed it out and it is such a common misconception. The sugar in fruit is not processed nasty chemical sugar. It is natural sugar that is so good for you and feeds your cells. You should check out Anthony William medical medium to learn more about the healing properties of fruits!!! I love you Tati!!!
I wasn’t expecting anyone to see this at all lol but pleaseee check out Anthony William medical medium if you get the chance to. He will literally change your life!!!
Exactly the fibre in fruit soaks up a lot of the sugar unlike if we drink a fruit juice. I get very cross when people demonise foods without truly understanding the subject. I love Tati but this new clean green series is worrying to me as she isn't an expert and clean and green are very vague terms that are just marketing ploys. She needs to get an impartial scientist to help with this.
"Clean makeup" is just a marketing ploy. This is the same marketing that upscale brands use to scare people into buying more expensive but functionally identical food products. Videos like this end up with beauty gurus swerving wayyyyy out of their lanes (beauty gurus likely don't have advanced degrees in chemistry and dermatology) and scaring their viewers!
Anne Schwartz if you look at the clean stamp from Sephora it basically means it’s free of certain ingredients that some people wish to avoid. So no, it’s not the same. It’s a stamp of approval given by Sephora not necessarily the brand lol might wanna do a little research or at least pay attention to the video before commenting
5he clean stano saves so much time when I'm in a rush, not all chemicals are bad but there are definitely ones I choose to avoid, this stamp makes it easier for me to know I'm avoiding those certain chemicals/ingredients, to a degree because there are natural ingredients which upset my skin. I buy outside of clean beauty when I know that the products doesn't have the chemicals I dislike, because like I said not all chemicals are bad 🤷♀️
The makeup industry is mostly self regulated and if you look into it there are so many scary things put into makeup that you don’t even know about. The FDA only does something after thousands of complaints are issued and many products go into the market without real testing. Always do your research before buying makeup to see what ingredients are in your products. Your skin is the largest organ in your body so taking care of it is so important.
@@torii1768 It's not self regulated in the UK. It's highly regulated. All cosmetic products supplied in the UK, whether for consumer or professional use, must comply with European Cosmetics Regulation 1223/2009.
Keeping your head in the sand is not likely to increase your knowledge on this topic. 'Clean' make up has been gaining momentum for the last 3-5yrs across the globe. It started in Germany. WHY don't YOU do some research if you're not happy with Tati's? Then you could leave actual information here instead of just one more snippy ignorant comment.
Hey Tati! First I wanna say I’m sorry for all the negativity in the comments... people should say things differently. But I do agree as an esthetician that it’s probably a good idea to do a little bit more research on what’s good and what’s not ingredients wise. It’s kinda confusing and natural doesn’t equal good and chemical doesn’t equal bad when it comes to topical ingredients. Trust me I wish it were simpler that would make my life easier! Lol. Anyways keep up the good search and keep learning
I used to love Tati's videos....she was one of the first youtuber's I subscribed to. It's just different now. I can't quite put my finger on it, but I just find that I can no longer tolerate a whole video of hers. I used to adore her soothing voice and now...I just can't.
I'm feeling exactly the same way. And I also can't quite put my finger on it! I've subscribed to Tati for AGES and used to sit on the edge of my seat waiting for her videos to pop up and now I'm like... hmmm..
yeah.. I totally feel the same way.. I can't believe that sometimes I actually just close the video not even half way in. I like her chatting and all, it's the vibe? I can't put my finger on it either omg and by the way, for example, just because someone says 3 things right out of 5, does not mean that the other 2 is right too. people tend to easily have this misconception.
@@TheCazmin I think Tati is trying to be more outspoken nowadays, whether it be be justified or not, mainly because she suppressed her opinions and feelings for so long in order to maintain a neutral brand image. Idk though this is just my observation.

Hey Tati, great video! I’d love to see a “One Brand Tutorial” type video for a few clean/green beauty brands like 100% Pure, Kjaer Weis, Fitglow, Root Cosmetics, Vapor Organic Beauty....
Watermelon not as much sugar? ... Girl. No one eats one serving of watermelon. You fall into the hole and damn near eat half a melon 😂 By that time, you’ve got twice as much sugar and less fibre. I don’t know why everyone thinks of bananas as the devil fruit. They’re really not that bad lol
My doctor encouraged me to eat more bananas they have potassium and natural fibre which are both important for good health. People are crazy they will eat any garbage in a box from a store but won't eat a thing that grows from the earth and wonder why so many people are getting cancers etc. SMH has nobody got any sense left.
I love you and your videos but your concern about bananas having too much sugar threw me off a bit considering bananas contain natural sugars and at times watermelon can have more sugar. I just worry for younger viewers thinking bananas are unhealthy or that they develop the belief that all sugars are unhealthy when in reality natural sugars are extremely necessary.
Kiana. Ok THANK YOU! people need to realize that fruit sugar IS NOT THE SAME AS PROCESSED SUGAR!!! FRUIT has FIBER that allows for a slow breakdown of the sugars in fruit, so it does not spike your insulin. please don’t stop eating bananas people. lol.
So funny story my mom eats a ton of bananas went to doc and was told to lay off them because it was doing more harm than good due to the sugar content.
bcgrote I’m okay with talc if the company has third parties test the product for any trace amounts of asbestos. But after it came out that Johnson and Johnson knew about trace amounts of asbestos in their baby powder and selling it anyway...I’m definitely weary of talc
Talc isn't necessarily harmful, as long as you know where it's sourced from. The dangerous thing about talc is mostly asbestos, but not it's not like it's globally contaminated.
This makes me think of when my Mom told me that her Doctor told her to switch to Menthol Cigarettes because they were healthier when she was pregnant with me.
I just love watching you & this might sound weird but you are my makeup guru mom I literally always watch you to see what’s worth it an what’s not you are just amazing ♥️
Tati try an Australian Indy brand called Adorn, they are super super clean, they have a volume mascara that is amazing and the lipstick is beautiful. You can get their sample box it's a sample size of every one of the products, like 50 different things get sent to you, I love the brow powder. Honestly have a look, the liquid foundations are honestly not great but the powders are. The lady who owns the company is so lovely, no questions or request is to great, she was so helpful to me and recommending products for me and my contact dermatitis. Anyway have a look at her FB page, "Adorn" I will tag you on her page, I really think you will love the mascara, the waterproof one. Hope this is a help, Jade xxx
Using Josie Maran Foundation with a brush will give a satisfying, stunning natural look. It's all about blending these oil based natural foundations into the skin to make it appear seamless
It's alright for the body and hair as long as you're not dealing with body acne..keep it away from your face skin though. Unlike coconut oil, Argan oil is non-comedogenic if you're looking for an alternative.
Thank u...I've been telling everyone that coconut oil is too heavy for my face personally and it breaks me out. However Ive been using a small amount of rosehip oil and it has been keeping my face clear and helping with redness
Anyone else think the clean stuff is just marketing? Like, I get that it's better to use cleaner ingredients but at the end of the day I'm sure companies can find loopholes and claim to be "clean", and the large majority of consumers won't ever actually check.
Britney Pellouchoud it’s important to check! Good point! It’s called “Greenwashing” bc of the trend and demand- some companies unfortunately still won’t care to clean up their act- they’ll just clean up their packaging and marketing bc they see $$ signs 🤑🙄 great point here!!!
FYI, a lot of “natural” ingredients can still be harmful for your skin. I have sensitive skin and a lot of natural skincare (Dr. Haushka & Tatcha) gave me the worst reaction.
Please stop demonising ingredients you clearly haven’t researched. Coal tar is a lifesaver for my husband, and many like him with psoriasis. Just because ingredients sound icky, that doesn’t mean they are bad for you.
The point she is trying to make is that it does not belong in cosmetics. Whereas it can help some, it can also be very irritating to others and is completely irrelevant in makeup.
@@emhudson6058 it's actually not misleading at all. Coal tar contains so many known carcinogens. Perhaps you should look into what it does to the skin, even for those who use it for psoriasis. It weakens the skin and makes it photo sensitive. Which then leads to even more possible skin worries. That is why so many people who work with coal tar develop health issues. Why is it needed in makeup? Just to irritate our delicate skin barrier. No thanks. The possible harm majorly outweighs the pros.
@@jasminemp3298 she's talking about makeup, there's no need for it to be in makeup. Sure it has medicinal uses but that doesn't hide the fact that it has known carcinogens in it
It’s also a biologic drug. Just because you use it to treat an illness doesn’t mean it’s safe for the public. Would you take chemo if you didn’t have cancer? No. Don’t be an idiot. And it wasn’t Tati “demonising” anything. She was literally listing the ingredients the Sephora Clean products touted as being free of.
Brianna Stanko is a great youtuber who has dermatologists/pharmacists on her channel going in depth on ingredients. Clean brands to try: Osmosis/ oxygenix/ 100% pure (as you mentioned she tests every foundation ), Glo, Jane Iredale, W3LL people
I like Brianna Stanko also. I bought one product based on her recommendation of it. I didn't know Osmosis was 100% pure. I'm definitely going to try it. Do you know anything about Nabla(sp?) cosmetics?
Leah Rutberg I don’t know that brand. I’m not sure if osmosis is 100% pure but that’s a makeup brand. 100% pure offers sample sizes in foundations to try before you commit to the investment :)
I’m sure!!! A foundation I bet. She is going to be like “there is no natural clean foundation in the market so... I’m gonna do it for you, you are welcome”
Tati mentioned that she is scared to try out these types of foundations because she isn’t very drawn to hydrating foundations that give a dewy look to her. But yeah I do agree it is kinda ridiculous that Tati complains about oil in a foundation that is oil based.
Some green beauty I recommend crunchi foundation, RMS powder, jane iredale mascara, lily lolo has some great bronzers and highlighters, too. My favorite blushes and lipsticks are from Hynt beauty. I love detox market but credo beauty is also pretty great for green beauty in my opinion! I've watched you for years for inspiration, even though I stick to green beauty products, because your looks are very inspiring! I'm excited to try lawless products and hope you can find some green/"clean" beauty you love enough to recomend💚💚💚
Bananas are good for you though...full of potassium and other nurturing vitamins. Natural sugar is completely different then processed sugar lol. Ones healthy the other is deadly.
K just what I wanted to say! Bananas are healthy and good for you. Yes they have sugar but sugars eaten as a fruit say a pear or an apple a banana whatever have the effects reduced by the fibre etc... Trust me the UK is really hot on this, drinks with added sugar are now subject to a sugar tax. Fruit juice is really bad for you in terms of sugar so they recommend we just eat the fruit instead as the effects of the sugar are mitigated.
@@gabby1728 ummm you need to do your research. If you cut out sugar completely you will get diabetes. If you eat sugar all day you will get diabetes its all balance. your body needs sugar to have energy. Do your research or have most of your families with diabetes and you will learn. Or have diabetes and you learn so much.
Try the Well People Bio Brightening Powder. It is a natural brand, is talc-free and replaced my Make Up Forever setting powder! You can find it online at Target. I also set my makeup with Osmosis Pressed Base. Gives a flawless finish!!
@Elle 1996 This is copied from the Tatcha web site: "Glide the spatula lightly across the top of balm. Dot with fingertips and massage into skin. A little goes a long way. Use a rice-sized amount for the whole face. Can be used alone or with makeup. Apply after SPF, before any makeup. Suitable for use on face, eye and lips. Replace the lid tightly after each use."
Cover fx is certified clean at Sephora. Would’ve liked to see you try some of their products. They’d probably have a foundation & powder that you’d like.
Clean does not automatically equal natural or even better. It’s a marketing ploy. One that’s working very well. It’s also a fear-mongering tactic. Each chemical plays a very important role in a specific product. There is a reason for its use. Chemists aren’t just throwing things in to slowly kill you.
No, chemists probably don't want to kill you . But the chemical plant shareholders who have revenues on their mind don't particularly care what happens to you as long as you keep buying their chemicals.
Your logic is 1950s. Your trust is completely misplaced. Cosmetic companies are all about money. You need to do some homework...they put in what works FOR THEM! Its not about you....its about marketing. Eliminating toxic ingredients which have been in make up since the 1930s is not a 'fad' or a 'fear mongering' tactic. Talc has been proven to cause cancer. So have parabins...do some research!
Mistress Mars where did I say cosmetic companies are doing things specifically for the consumer, that I have complete trust in them & pretty much everything else you said that I said?!?! If you read my comment again, you will see that i was talking about chemists & ingredients. And that ingredients (even the ones deemed “bad”) play very specific rolls in a product. Even parabens, which are put in, so other ingredients won’t spoil & so bacteria doesn’t grow. I’m not the one that needs to do research. Because I do know “clean beauty” is a marketing ploy & also a fad.
@@jennajune2101 You don't need 50 million unpronounceable words to kill bacteria though. 1 simple ingredient can kill bacteria, salt can kill bacteria, vinegar can kill bacteria, garlic, herbs can kill bacteria.
Josie Maran’s brand is built around all of her products being formulated/containing argan oil. It is a good natural brand but if you have oily/acne prone skin, it probably should be avoided. She does have some lip products formulated with honey & a cheek stain/tint with coconut water & coconut water eyeshadows.Have you thought about trying burt’s bees makeup brand? I am not sure if they are “clean” but it’s worth a try.
I always love your videos. This may or may not interest you, Tati, but if you like the feel of dimethicone, but you don't want it in your skin care, you can try something a little weird that I use every day and LOVE. It's actually snail secretion filtrate. Literal snail snot that has been purified and made into a gel for your skin. I use Mizon snail recovery gel cream, I get it on Amazon, and it just has such a calming and smoothing effect on the skin. It's hydrating without being greasy and it has never broken me out. And I have REALLY sensitive and irritable skin, so this stuff is great. If you put it in the fridge beforehand, it's really refreshing in the summer months.
I love all of the Ordinary’s products including their foundation. They have clean ingredients and are really transparent with what is in their products and the science behind that.
All the experts I've ever heard talk about this subject say the main thing to change is lipstick. This is because it is the one product that we end up effectively eating. So there is no point in changing powders etc and still using regular lipstick! In the UK we are kind of wary of the terms clean and green as they are marketing claims that don't actually really mean anything. You have to look a lot deeper into it than that. The same as natural, not all natural products are harmless! Oh please don't demonise bananas they are a very healthy snack. My Mum reversed her type 2 diabetes risk and she eats a banana every day. Eating produce in it's natural state allows the fibre etc in the produce to soak up a lot of the sugar. So I love all your videos but please remember some people trust everything you say and to be careful what you demonise.
@@Clairebanx actually your skin can't absorb 60% of what you put on it. I know people claim this but they are not scientists, think about it why aren't olympic swimmers dead from the chlorine? It's because we absorb very little of what we put on our skin. My recommendation of lipstick was based on scientists pointing out that you effectively eat that.
Tati, I think you're forgetting that ingredients give the products their functionality, so if you're having trouble finding "heavier" makeup with "clean" ingredients, a big part of that is probably because ingredients typically used for full coverage and etc. are not considered "clean". You can't have your cake and eat it too. Clean makeup has limitations (also, putting anything on your face and leaving it on your skin all day is probably not good regardless)
I tried watching her, but I found her thinness too distracting. I work at a treatment center to treat eating disorders and while I can't judge based on purely appearances, I find her size very upsetting. I'm not sure if she's sick or is struggling with an eating disorder, but I can't watch anymore.
@@lucchiacicione-eyal5481 greenwashing is when a company is all, "ooh look at me, I'm so clean, so fresh, so healthy" but then the company isn't all that clean, isn't as good as they say they are. So they market themselves as a great clean company, but their products and their ingredients say otherwise.
I love that you did this video! So helpful. Natural products I use: Primer - 100% pure, Foundation - Ilia True Skin, Concealer - Au Natural, Powder - Lawless, Highlighter - RMS, Mascara - Ilia, Lips - clove and hallow, eyeshadow - going to try lawless and Aether.
The skin can have a sensitivity to anything. However, silicones and dimethicones are wonderful emollients and help keep hydration in the skin. Mineral oil doesn’t clog pores (it’s non-comedogenic) and data show that sulfates aren’t actually harmful to the skin. Xoxo 😘
It still depends on the person. Mineral oil clogs me up, even on my legs (eww) and sulfates give me a rash. Fragrances are a huge no lol but so far silicones and dimethicones seem ok.
Stefanie Vick Same. I use very natural products for that reason...as in, lotions and shampoos without sulfates and fragrance. Natural products can smell divine without making my sensitive skin clog or rash. All those things said to be “safe” usually rash me out, dry my skin, or cause acne.
For sure! I'd be interested to see what the thresholds are to be able to qualify for that... my money is on garbage ingredients still being too high for the really ingredient conscious... just like "organic" as Morgan Uttrich brought up. I can't stand all the semantics!
It is really up to her preference and stevia is better than having Soda which is really what she was comparing it to not bananas and she was saying that she prefers watermelon over bananas which actually is more hydrating that eating a banana which has more naturally sugars which watermelons have less and has more vitamins
LOVE that you are reviewing these kinds of products. Ive been looking to replace my products with "clean" or "cleaner" versions and its hard to know what will work. I hope you do more of these in the future, and possibly do a video with best of clean products once you've found products in each category that truly work!
Because an ingredient fixes one problem, does not mean that you should use it. Sunshine gives you vitamin D and helps your body absorb calcium. It also gives you skin cancer...so we use sunscreen. Are you going to skip the sunscreen so you get your vitamin D? There are other options that do not compromise your health! Have you googled Coal Tar??
I have psoriasis and yes I have used coal tar for it. However, it does have carcinogenic compounds so coal tar does cause cancer. This is of course when used in high amounts, and for a long period of time.
Out of the hundreds of Tati videos I’ve watched - this is actually one of my favs. I love the subject (clean), but also the dedication and vulnerability.
I'm not annoyed....yet. A deeper dive on research and comparison with ingredients first though. It's a must before giving out or expressing disgust on the internet about ingredients 😌
Greenwashing is when a brand try to sell you products that seem "clean " or more " natural " with different comunication techniques such as ( green packaging, green vocab) but actually the ingredients are the same as any other product .
My last job I had was as a marketing & PR coordinator for 11 certified organic & natural makeup and skincare brands - greenwashing by brands (especially big brands) was my pet hate 😤😤
Tati, I appreciate the wide variety of products that you test and try to figure out. I love watching your videos because I know that there will always be something new to learn about and watch you test. I appreciate you testing so much so that it can give me a sense of what I might experience with different products. Keep being you!
Whenever I think of people calling Tati out on her contour, I think it’s because she always chooses warm shades. Cool colors recede, and that’s why we use them for contour to act as shadows. Warm colors advance which is why we use it as bronzer. I think tatis contour would look much better most of the time if she picked better colors rather than the formulas
Love that you are looking into more clean beauty products! Would love you to do a review on more drugstore-priced clean beauty brands like mineral fusion , Shea moisture, Found, Burt’s Bee’s, Pacifica, etc.
Good amount of fibre in banana also.
Monica Wong I was kinda looking at her like “wtf, who do you think you are??!”...acting like james charles thinking she knows every damn thing. I HATE when beauty gurus act like they know EVERYTHING from skincare, to makeup, to brushes etc in this industry. it’s annoying and makes me give them the side eye. we all don’t know everything ok?! gosh. that really just pissed me off
LoveLife & Dream4Ever I’ve been side eyeing A LOT of her comments lately.
Watermelon has way more sugar than banana, I’m so confused my her comments
Maybe someone has mentioned this.. but the foundation is oil based - and you're blending it with a wet beauty blender. Water and oil don't mix and separate from each other. I blend this foundation with a synthetic bristle brush or my fingers.
and often such foundations need to be applied in very thin and fine layer
Ashdon Woffinden yes you’d think with as much as she “knows” she’d have the common sense to not blend an oil based foundation with water lol
right! lol i love this foundation and i have dryer skin right now and use my fingers or a brush as well in thin layers til i get the coverage i want! maybe shed like it better if she applied it that way. i thought they usually do half face with brush and other with sponge or whatever anyways but she didnt to see which would have been better but still, water and oil dont mix thought she would have known that! but anyways, i love this foundation and concealer 🤗
SUCH a good comment! That happens with SO many concealers!
I feel like 2019 will be huge for the clean movement, for skin care and makeup. So many people are starting to care.
I think most always cared we are just now paying better attention because you would think things like that are not aloud but they are
It's nice to know we have options
i hope these clean cosmetics make their way to drugstores because i cant afford to even walk into sephora.
It's been 7 months since i stopped putting make up, i really want to find a clean alternative. Thank you for this video Tati😍🙏
Agreed.
I am so happy others are catching on too. Only then will companies do better with their products if consumers demand it.

Lipsticks: ILIA Beauty
100%pure make have great highlighters.

I keep wanting to try juice beauty. Do you have to set it?
hi pls reply im new to organic makeup and have questions
If you go to Whole Foods they will give you a sample of all of their natural makeup. The Juice Beauty had a weird scent to me but it was not bad.
Thank you for this!!!
I need Help!...
I wanna Try Organic Make-up too. But I read everytime this -> [+/-: Titanium Dioxide (CI77891), Iron Oxides (CI 77491, 77492, 77499)]
What is this?
This! EVERYTHING has lead in, the dose makes the poison
This a great idea!
can't trust someone who doesn't know how to spell 'per se'
Just a (not so) quick *GUIDELINE* for skincare and makeup;
- Natural is NOT automatically better.
*Please do your own research on this subject as there are numerous different researches on this and opinions from dermatologists.*
- Mineral oil is NOT bad according to research, though some people have reported it makes them break out.
Yes, applying an oil at night can make your skin less oily ;)
- Always baby your skin.
L O R E N Z O Studies indicate that methylparaben applied on the skin may react with UVB leading to increased skin aging, skin cancer and DNA damage.
Thank you lots of info
Thank you for being a voice of reason. Natural is not always good, synthetic or unnatural is not always bad. It is however bad to start carpet-labeling broad groups of ingredients as one thing or another. Education is so important, but half-education (cursory glances through material that may or may not be truthful,) can be dangerous or at the very least, extremely misleading. I applaud Tati for trying to mindful of what she uses. Everyone should seek to educate themselves on what they use every day. But I wish she'd be much more thorough about it.
Doesn't Physician's Formula have talc free powders? I'd love to see you tackle the drugstore for more natural options.
She literally said she wasn’t an expert. All I hear is ppl complaining in the comments.
That foundation looked horrible went she put it on. I wasn't surprised it didn't last.
Pinyrose amen!!!

Great point!
Pacifica is launching a full coverage foundation in January! They have cleaner ingredients than typical drugstore brands so I’m excited to see what it’s like! It’s going to have 30 shade and it’s going to be $14.
OMG I'm so excited about this!!!
I had no idea! I’m so excited for it🙌
I've commented asking Tati to test out Pacifica!
Oooo Pacifica coming for our wigs
The Pacifica cleanser I purchased had parabens... I like she is helping her group be aware of ingredients in skincare .. If we can read, we can be aware and do our own research. I like some brands but I just got a brand of serum that was natural but first 20 ingredients are emulsifiers and the fragrance... wow.. I use on legs now mixing with marula oil. Good Job Tati.
Could we have an update on this video? Did you ever find clean beauty you liked?
She has mentioned bite beauty foundation as a clean foundation that she liked! But I new video would be cool!!
Just a little FYI, you’re only supposed to use a rice grain sized amount of the tatcha primer!!
Anyone else thinking that Tati’s ‘mission’ is a hint to her coming out with a CLEAN makeup line?! She’s become so funny with ingredients recently- maybe because she’s learning what is going into them... *cough* her own makeup....
That’s exactly what I was thinking. Looking to see what’s not out there so that she can up out with it, whatever’it’ is lol
From a marketing standpoint this has been obvious for a while now. There's always a build-up. I just hope it's good. lol
absolutely what I've been thinking. I just hope it won't be at the expense of the amazing videos I've become accustomed to :(
I hope so!!! I want a Tati approved FULL COVERAGE CLEAN FOUNDATION

My thoughts exactly! Like sorry Tati my skin condition needs those "gross ingredients".
YES. Thank you for saying this. Coal tar has literally saved my skin. The concentrations used for treating psoriasis and in other skin and haircare products is relatively miniscule.
Me in July 2019: Tati should re-do this video. Who else agrees? Try new clean makeup now, since there’s so much more out there.
Yeah! And also clean skincare!
People need to stop using the word natural when they mean healthy or nourishing. Arsenic is natural. So is asbestos. Etc.
Blue Strickland a better label might be arsenic is organic, so is coco leaves and marijuana, they’re from the earth. Natural is such a buzzword, but it’s also watered down and used by companies that claim to be natural but aren’t.
Natural also doesn't mean better. A lot of natural ingredients have been studied and found to be extremely irritating or useless.
it’s not that deep
@@pongo5271 Exactly! I work in cosmetics and try to tell guests vegan and organic also means there's no stoppers in it. Like I got a chemical burn from a serum from Juice Beauty.
@@mm44jesus I think No-Toxic is probably the best term.
Is...is Halo Beauty about to drop some clean makeup? That might explain this new trend in her recent videos...
sojirofreak I was wondering the same!
So if not, shall all people apologize to her? For conspirating?
Watermelon flavored. Lol.
i would suggest people watch dermatologist Dr.
Isabel DeLong thanks girl
She has great content but something about her is super offputting for me.
I love Dr. Dray! I've learned so much from her. I just found her so I'm curious to see how the products and ingredients she recommends work in the long term
@@ktcrich i know right?

Tati,
I am extremely excited to see that you are doing a series on Clean Beauty.
In regards to some of the comments I'm reading:
Thank you for saying this
I agree with you. There was some point in here in which I was just rolled my eyes. I appreciate her intentions and think she has some great points, BUT as soon as she was saying I’m not an expert, she was saying “cancer causing” just odd
Well she did say she wasn't a pro...says she is trying to research and educate herself... Sooooooo
She's getting ready to launch something. I CLOCKED IT!
I agree
Any ideas?! Where in vid? 😀
She is the only one doing this. 1+1=2
What do you think? Makeup line? That would be exciting for her subs.......
Thank you!
Comment of the year 👏
miss you Tati!!!! going back and watching your videos because I can't wait for you to come back to doing amazing videos.
Please everyone do your own research on the ingredients in your makeup products and other products! Just because something is natural or “clean”, does not mean that it is actually better for you!!
And just because something isn’t “clean” doesn’t mean it’s bad for you!! Silicones are safe!
Julie Ariel MUA this is such a helpful non toxic comment I stan
Elle 1996 never said I was an expert I just said I have been trained on these brands... 10 years in the industry and working on several skin types daily also helps.
Christina Radford thanks! I hate the toxic comments but I wanted to give some helpful feedback on brands I work with daily!
Elle 1996 I love Tati and I know she wants the best for her followers so I thought she’d appreciate some helpful feedback and viewpoints.
Everyone is going on about what is in the makeup...... What about the environment???. All the non bio degradable containers. And then the setting sprays.... Why???
All those aerosol setting sprays and primers are so concerning to me. Especially that one product that's literally just water in a spray can? Like... Really?

Watermelon is not better than bananas.... They are both fruit, both have fiber and vitamins and minerals, the banana having more nutrients since watermelon is almost all water. Fresh fruit is nature's healing remedy and we cannot get enough of ALL fruits.
Genetic modifications say different.
@@babyrae7290 Yes, of course we should never eat GMO foods of any sort. But organic fruit is all good
I'm not talking about GMOs I'm talking about the evolution of fruits critiqued by scientists throughout the years that effect all fruit not just non organic
You should look into what watermelons started out as before human intervention
Ugh.
Everyones mad about the chemicals where as I'm just annoyed that she said bananas have too much sugar 🤔, quite false information, especially since its natural healthy sugars unlike eating a candy bar
This information really messes with people's dieting Tati.
trying to figure out what to eat and your dietitian and from my experience with my Science backed Eating template for Athletes CONFIRMS THAT BANANAs are GOOD for you
then all of a sudden bananas have too much sugar? No, keep living your lives eating bananas they're good for you
Im all for healthy, but she hasn't done her research on the toxin that is stevia and swears by it
Its really quite misleading
This kind of eating should be backed by a nutritionist do your research people
Key word..."for athletes"
Todays bananas aren't like original bananas, same with apples, things have been modified to be way more sugary. Bananas do have too much sugar, I didn't even here her say that.
I'm pretty sure that there's not a difference between "healthy natural sugar" and regular sugar. If u eat a piece of fruit ur body treats it as if u ate some candy. I've been doing keto for many years and the FIRST thing they tell u is that even though u have an apple for instance, ur body can't tell if it's sugar from nature or from a candy bar. Sugar is sugar. Glucose is glucose. 😊
It's the fiber in the fruit that makes the difference!

Dry brushing falls under the expertise of a nurse. I think you have lost your mind
it should be okay unless you are immune compromised. Skin is the first defense for the body. It really does follow under a nurse's expertise.
Lauchzweibel: think what you like, just do your research. Dry brushing generally won’t cause harm, but it’s not doing anything useful. It can also be harmful to those with diabetes, skin conditions, PAD, any condition that causes immunosuppression, etc.
Whats dry brushing?
yes, dr. drey is against dry brushing, she breaks it down for you, she's a dermatologist in houston. i remember her saying how harmful dry brusing is, it irritates the skins barrier and causes a waxy oily build up on the skin the try to protect the barrier, or something to that .
Shendi Sackett yes!! Totally agree!
I absolutely love Ilia. The foundation and powder are fabulous!
Lol. Anyways keep up the good search and keep learning

and by the way, for example, just because someone says 3 things right out of 5, does not mean that the other 2 is right too. people tend to easily have this misconception.
@@TheCazmin I think Tati is trying to be more outspoken nowadays, whether it be be justified or not, mainly because she suppressed her opinions and feelings for so long in order to maintain a neutral brand image. Idk though this is just my observation.

As far as fruit goes, it does have more sugar lol. She just meant in every category, they’re might be a “worse” thing. Not that it’s bad in general.
I know right, demonizing certain fruits and vegetables is ridiculous
Tati can you do an updated video of what is clean at Sephora. It's so much better now.
Just eat berries, yum!

Well, they are healthy. But not too much of them. My brother has diabetes and he shouldnt eat them that much. Or at night
Now some companies are saying "yes, we have talc, but ours is the HEALTHY kind!" Makes me think of the "healthy" cigarettes in the 60s and 70s.
bcgrote I’m okay with talc if the company has third parties test the product for any trace amounts of asbestos. But after it came out that Johnson and Johnson knew about trace amounts of asbestos in their baby powder and selling it anyway...I’m definitely weary of talc
bcgrote lmaooo true
Talc isn't necessarily harmful, as long as you know where it's sourced from. The dangerous thing about talc is mostly asbestos, but not it's not like it's globally contaminated.
This makes me think of when my Mom told me that her Doctor told her to switch to Menthol Cigarettes because they were healthier when she was pregnant with me.

Angela Goodwin but she called coal tar a disgusting ingredient, which is quite misleading

Tati mentioned that she is scared to try out these types of foundations because she isn’t very drawn to hydrating foundations that give a dewy look to her. But yeah I do agree it is kinda ridiculous that Tati complains about oil in a foundation that is oil based.
Yeah, I'm confused why she had chosen THAT foundation if she has combination skin? There must have been other options.
Thanks for the recommendations!!! 💓💓💓
Bananas are good for you though...full of potassium and other nurturing vitamins. Natural sugar is completely different then processed sugar lol. Ones healthy the other is deadly.
K it’s all processed the same actually.
Still if u eat to much banana that sugar can lead to diabetes there has to be a balance sweetie
Thank you!!!
Tati, girl, that's too much Tatcha primer. I think they recommend a rice grain sized amount for your whole face.
She used 2 layers worth of primer.
I cringed at that
Yes! Less is much, much more with Tatcha. I don't how I will get through it before it goes off.
It's probably why her foundation didn't go on all that great. Both are great products...if used correctly.

She already tried. Made a video and she hated the foundation I think.
Can you do a full face only using BH Cosmetics, including their brushes and sponger?
Mari sanchez would love that
All the experts I've ever heard talk about this subject say the main thing to change is lipstick.
Shendi Sackett I disagree as your skin absorbs 60% of what you put on it and it’s the largest organ.

Hi Tati, love your videos! It would be great if in 2019 you could make a series reviewing “zero waste” products such as shampoos, deos, cosmetics etc!
You should watch Dr. Dray. I learned a lot from her from skin products. Please like to let tati know.
Yes, I watch Dr Gray regularly. She is so good.
I mean Dr Dray.
I tried watching her, but I found her thinness too distracting. I work at a treatment center to treat eating disorders and while I can't judge based on purely appearances, I find her size very upsetting. I'm not sure if she's sick or is struggling with an eating disorder, but I can't watch anymore.
Lauren Druss she has a lot of food videos I do not think she has issues
Lauren Druss agreed, I had to stop watching because I felt the same thing
Coal tar is really good for dry skin conditions. I have psoriasis & it is literally a life saver... why would coal tar gross me out :')
I use it in shampoo, have done for yrs. Prescribed by doctor. Say no more! 😊
I know, right? Some people (like me) HAVE to use it for their scalp. I only use it when I have to because it sucks for my hair.
I am so happy you mentioned 100% pure! You should do a tutorial with just organic and clean makeup brands!! 👏🏻😘
That's a great idea!!!
Tati!! Honest beauty has a powder (invisible blurring powder) that I’m in love with, maybe you could give that one a go! Talc free :)
Giving up nail polish alone will cut down so much unnecessary chemical exposure
Kate Richardson I sadly agree lol... I love polishing my nails, but I’ve found that I just can’t tolerate the smell of polish (and remover) anymore 😢
TEE-nuh do buffing its very pretty
There are better nail polishes out there!
Tracy Rose very true, thanks for the suggestion ☺️
TEE-nuh no!!! Buffing makes your nail more brittle and prone to breakage - youre scraping off the top of your nail!!!!
Tati you need to try the brand BEAUTYCOUNTER it’s also clean
Some products are greenwashed!
Abigail Sullivan What does that mean
@@lucchiacicione-eyal5481 greenwashing is when a company is all, "ooh look at me, I'm so clean, so fresh, so healthy" but then the company isn't all that clean, isn't as good as they say they are. So they market themselves as a great clean company, but their products and their ingredients say otherwise.
Nora B I’ve been wanting to try it too
I sold Beautycounter for a long time. I love the eyeshadow, foundation, and concealer! The skincare is amazing too!
Xoxo 😘
amen sister, amen
It still depends on the person. Mineral oil clogs me up, even on my legs (eww) and sulfates give me a rash. Fragrances are a huge no lol but so far silicones and dimethicones seem ok.
Stefanie Vick yeah it really depends on the person
Stefanie Vick Same. I use very natural products for that reason...as in, lotions and shampoos without sulfates and fragrance. Natural products can smell divine without making my sensitive skin clog or rash. All those things said to be “safe” usually rash me out, dry my skin, or cause acne.
"clean label" sounds like a marketing ploy.
Isabel DeLong just like “organic”
In a lot of cases, it is. If most of these "clean" products were tested, there is a good chance a lot of "bad" ingredients are in there.
For sure! I'd be interested to see what the thresholds are to be able to qualify for that... my money is on garbage ingredients still being too high for the really ingredient conscious... just like "organic" as Morgan Uttrich brought up. I can't stand all the semantics!
@@morgannewagner8817 yes, i completely agree
LMAO she’ll avoid bananas but use stevia
i mean stevia is a plant too.
Is stevia bad??? I've been using it in my coffee 🙊🙊🙊
Coal tar is good for psoriasis... not everything is bad for you...
Elle 1996 What is your Source for that information?
So glad you commented this. I have scalp psoriasis and coal tar helps so much
Elizabeth Plummer I do too...what do you use?? I need something that is going to work!
I have heard that with the tacha primer you should only use a rice sized bit or it will make your foundations bunchy.
@@OceanluvOC if it is strongly scented it might irritate me certain perfumes really bother meso that's good to know.
I don't know how I'd react if I saw Tati crouched down in a Sephora 😂 love you as always!
Out of the hundreds of Tati videos I’ve watched - this is actually one of my favs. I love the subject (clean), but also the dedication and vulnerability.
Then the first thing that has to go is the Guerlain (sp?) Gold Primer because gold has absolutely no business being in a primer or make up!!!
I'm not annoyed....yet. A deeper dive on research and comparison with ingredients first though. It's a must before giving out or expressing disgust on the internet about ingredients 😌
Tati you should check into brands “greenwashing” you’ll be further shocked
What's that???
Greenwashing is when a brand try to sell you products that seem "clean " or more " natural " with different comunication techniques such as ( green packaging, green vocab) but actually the ingredients are the same as any other product .
My last job I had was as a marketing & PR coordinator for 11 certified organic & natural makeup and skincare brands - greenwashing by brands (especially big brands) was my pet hate 😤😤

Bananas have 14g of sugar and watermelon has 17g

Whenever I think of people calling Tati out on her contour, I think it’s because she always chooses warm shades. Cool colors recede, and that’s why we use them for contour to act as shadows. Warm colors advance which is why we use it as bronzer. I think tatis contour would look much better most of the time if she picked better colors rather than the formulas
