ip-hop originated centuries ago in West Africa with the advent of griot (pronounced GREE-oh) culture. Today, as in the past, the Wolof griots of Senegal dance, recite poetry, narrate epics, and play percussion instruments such as drums and clappers. It goes both ways; that being said, black Americans have culture.

I must admit, however, that those who truly share an affinity for us are the people from the southern African Frontline nations! Since their experiences with the mayonated WS colonizers is the SAME, they have historically always & continue to generally understand & can identify with US. Great work Brotha Phil. Actually Amapiano is a sub genre of the deep 'House Music' that came out of Chicago and was very popular in the 90s. Just do the research. South African DJs and producers studied the music and created their version of it which I enjoy but facts are facts. If you're not familiar with House Music, search for one of the classics, 'Hot Music' by Soho. This music is still played at some clubs in America; just not as popular as it once was.

I’m not listening to anyone who fled over here to gain the opportunities our proud FBA family and ancestors fought for. Any of these xenophobic foreigners trying to talk negative about us are very jealous.

The fact that Phil and the rest of my FBA family got to have discussions/debates about this is really sad and infuriating. So now we're arguing about whether water is wet yeh? Jealousy is mug.

We already know that we started our own culture. It's getting other people to believe that we did is their problem not ours. We don't need no south African to tell us. South Africans need to prove THEY have a culture thats what he should be worried about.
