    Taking the time to “ gently “ find out how it comes apart is so important on these types of electronic equipment, can’t be a bull in a China shop with this stuff ! Thanks for the informative video.

    Didn't need to replace my screen but one of the hinges snapped on my lappy and the top began to crack due to non-uniform stress. Your video was great for walking me through the entire process of replacing hinges and the top, and that's a good reminder tip at the end about being sure to open the top from the middle from now on. Thanks for doing this!

    Good work on this video Michael. I appreciate that you keep us aware of what you're doing by also talking about the repair job details. Today I learned why we need to always open these latest manufactured laptops/notebooks from the center. Most of the early laptops required this because of the latch that was in the center edge. Stay safe, be happy and thanks again 👍.

    I had a hinge break and was visible on the outside of the case on my Acer e5-575g, and this video was a tremendous help in getting that replaced. Accidentally broke one of the stereo wires trying to get that unplugged (never did either) but everything else works. Thank you!

    Excellent video for those wanting to do their own repair. I believe my hinge itself has broken (haven't taken it apart yet) - the piece attached to the top moves up and down at the hinge point in the base 1/8"+. It is solid in the top/display. This video shows me what I need to do to get the hinge out and replace it - and I may also need to replace my LCD as a portion or the screen is intermittently going flaky. This video shows it all.

    Thanks to you I was able to repair my GFs laptop myself for €100. Thanks so much!
    BTW: No need to cut the adhesive under the camera module. Either peel off the little strip of adhesive under it or if you purchased a factory new replacement case for the display use the premounted adhesive after removing its protector.

    Nice through video. I need to replace just the screen. Back and hinges are good. Do I need to break down the entire laptop or can I just snap open the top and replace the screen? Thanks

      @bnnnboy ปีที่แล้ว

      You should be able to only disassemble the top. I was having an issue with my screen (seemed like the connector was loose) so I removed the screen bezel and the LCD, took the connector out and put it back in, then reassembled everything.

    Hey man, thank you for the video. My antenna is soldered onto the back cover. Does it matter if I pull this off or will it damage the antenna? And I assume it wont 'need' to be soldered back onto the new cover?

      On laptops the antennas are stuck in place with metal tape. If it's a laptop just peel it off.

    I just got a Dell XPS 18 I think but I'm not sure. I'm not sure which numbers to read from the back of the tablet. I saw one of your older videos from 4 years ago about replacing the battery. I don't have the power adapter and not sure what the model number is. Can you help me?

    I replaced my screen and did not have to disassemble the base unit. You can do just the top alone. There is another video that shows this process. If your hinge mounts are cracked you can jury rig a solution without having to replace the cover. Drill 3/32 holes through the cover where the mounts are then buy small screws with nuts and bolt it on. Make sure screws have same heads as the ones you are replacing. This is not an aesthetic solution, the nuts will protrude from the top cover, but it works and is far less expensive and time consuming. I tried to epoxy the hinges to the broken mounts but that did not hold.

    Hi, just wondering if you can explain lid off on switch sensor or magnet, where is that exactly on these acers, someone sent their laptop for bezel replacement and now screen won’t turn off if you close the lid and it’s not a software issue. Waiting for your response
