    Another tip you could of dropped in that video is the snap grid in the lower right. I'm always showing the kids how to adjust that to the smallest measurements to make it easy to adjust the parts when you got to surfaces like your lion and wall or the svg file block. keep up the tricks and tips!

    Thank you. So, I still get screwed up with this software. I know what you did when you put the lion's body into a box but what happened then? Did you just delete it? Is that how you ended up with just the head?

    Hey Chuck, your video came right on time. got a knob for my Select Mini, which needs a little more size to fit on the axis . Any idea how to resize holes of an existing STL file?
    So let'S say, I need the given hole about 0.5mm larger

    Make a complex Model using joined and holed, and moved parts, etc, save as grouped STL :: Then see if TinkerCAD can even load in that saved file

    using the drag method

      You can give the free 3D modeling program Meshmixer a try. Choose the ‘Select’ tool from the menu on the right, then double-click on your model (this will select your entire mesh). Then click on the ‘Edit…’ option and select ‘Reduce’.

    How can you import an object and then manipulate just one part of it? Example: on your
    logo, import then resize just the “E”…??

    • @FilamentFriday
      @FilamentFriday  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You have to take away the original E and put the new one in its place unless you found the file in the Tinkercad gallery.

    I want to import an STL, but it needs to be the exact same size as the original file. TinkerCad is great for resizing, but I don't want that this time. How can I get an exact copy?

    Hi Chuck, Thanks for the videos, you recently sorted out my ender 3 for me after I followed your instructions and now its printing perfectly thank you, I popped a comment on the leveling page and have referred a good few people to your videos. , this time I have a question on Tinkercad please as I just dont know if this is possible in this software.
    What i would like to do is embed a logo into a 3mm square high 200 x 200 mm. It happens to be the Pi Raspberry and I have this in svg and stl format perfectly as I have Vector Magic so I can create my own vector files.
    However what i want to do is use that logo on my square so when you pick it up you see the raspberry logo, what is happening at the moment is that i import the SVG Pi logo in and make it slightly taller bring it over and down onto my square and make it hollow, group and one perfect logo but if you were to print it the parts of the raspberry would not be joined together and left of the bed of the printer and all you would see in the square is a outline of the logo. I just cant seem to find a way to have the logo embedded, it must be possible as i have seen it on Pi cases in thingiverse and its perfect but i dont know whether this is something I am missing and dont know how to do or whether this is just not possible to do in Tinkercad being a more basic program. Is this something that you would be able to answer please. Many thanks as always.

      Sorry. I can’t understand what you are describing.

    • @sitgesvillaapartmentneilsc7924

      @@FilamentFriday sorry, I am trying to create the raspberry pi logo in tinkercad and embed it into a model so it shows as the logo all the way through the plastic as if it was a hole but in the shape of the Raspberry Pi logo.
      I have copied the logo of the internet from their site and created a perfect vector file using vector magic which traces the logo and turns it into a perfect vector file.
      I imported that into tinkercad which turns it into a perfect 3d version.
      I then make that slightly thicker than my model and turn it into a non solid object and place it over my model bring it down onto it and then group and it creates a perfect logo all the way through the case I am making however the pieces of the Raspberry Pi logo are all separate and if i was to print it when I would lift the case off the bed I would have the outline of the Raspberry in my case and the bits of the berry are left on the bed so to speak. there are no points holding each part of the berry together.
      In the vector file I import its a perfect berry but when you make it a non solid object it obvious makes the entire berry non solid and this is where the problem lies.
      There are no bridges that connect the parts of the berry together and that is the problem and I am not sure how to solve this.
      II am not sure if its possible to do this and wonder how people draw the raspberry on other models I have seen , perhaps its been drawn withing the program instead of copied like I have done.
      Sorry about this, i am trying to learn Tinkercad and i cant seem to get across how to do this, I thought bringing in a vector file would be able to do this but it would appear not.
      I dont know whether I would have to ungroup the entire vector file into its separate elements and then import them one at a time on to the model as non solid objects so it retains the shape and so it somehow allows the berry to be created. I'm just not sure. I hope this explains it better and apologies for confusion.
      I love the 3d printer, just purchased a Pi to do octopi on it and I am learning Tinkercad but its trying to find a good set of online courses to help me through these hurdles!
      I am not sure if this is something the image generator does.... i will take a look.
      I hope this is clearer and you can point me in the right direction....many thanks....

      Hi John Bryant, OK I understand that, but imagine I am doing something exactly in Tinkercad, it would be great if I do not need to go out to another software to do that. When I am using 123d or Fusion 360 I can also do that easily, but in case I am within Tinkercad and can do all in, it would be great wouldn´t it ? Thanks for the hint anyway.

      The grey box is a "hole" object. When yo group a hole object with the parent object, it cuts off that chunk, or creates a hole of that size essentially.
