I have charged $90 to do this which includes changing out the liner, making it edge lined, new end sheets and (if you want) new ribbons... I know it's a higher price for the work but it's pretty labor intensive when trying to remove all of the old paste down from the bottom side of the cover leather. I'm currently not taking on any new orders but if/when I do in the future, I'll announce it.
Love that. I like calfskin and having this done would make a huge difference. Would that cost much if you don’t have the skill to do so yourself?

Is the reason for the 45° angle on the edge-line tabs form, or function...
Just easier to glue down the end sheets without making a mess
