I have played this a million times!!! I am 66 years old and don't listen to country except for my nephew Jay Allen who's is also recording in Nashville. He's a singer songwriter also. Check him out Drake!
He is in Nashville and just signed with a company that he will write songs to sell. He started at Sony but switched to another a couple of years ago. He is getting married October 1st at Fort Meyers Beach Florida. I am going down there for vacation on the 23rd and staying with my niece in Titusville FL. His fiance was just invited to sing at the Grand old Opry. She also is signed. They both write songs like you. His name is Jay Allen hers is Kylie Morgan. Utube them. Maybe we can get you guys together. I was thrilled to be talking to you. Jay wrote Blank Stares about his mom having early onset alzheimer's. All proceeds went to Abes Garden. He has raised over 50 million. Also did War for You to raise money for care workers during pandemic. If his head gets too big I remind him that I used to change his diapers lol.

I’ve listened to every song of his I could find online. In my opinion, “Sounds Like Something I’d Do”is his best by far. None of the others are what I would call “high energy” songs. I hope he’s got some surprise songs that will be great so he can keep his AGT momentum going.
You need to re listen over drinking under thinking. It should also be on the radio
@scott - at another video I commented that, in my opinion, “Over Drinkin’ Under Thinkin’ is his 2nd best song. The rest I found are not nearly as good. He’s got great momentum at AGT. If he wants to keep it going there, & hopefully increase it, he better come up with a surprise, another dynamite fast song.

@@uplinkerful - I’ve listened to country music since the 1950s so I know traditional country, plus the modern country pop/country rock that dominates modern “country” charts. My point is that Drake will have to play more high energy songs on AGT if he wants to increase his chances of winning.

@Penni - the AGT audition will be very hard to top. Although his twang when he sang was country & the lyrics were typical for country songs (honky tonks, drinkin’, fast trucks) the music was high energy rock & roll in 4/4 time. I’ve been a musician since the ‘60s & that rhythm was pure rock & roll, most easily identifiable by the snare drum hitting on the 2nd & 4th beats, which is called the backbeat. Maybe you already knew that. Happy trails.
