I was contact by a Nigerian scammer who needed help. Turns out he scams because he's diabetic and has no other way to purchase insulin. In this video I offer to help him, but only if he works to pay back his last victim!

Some points to note
1) He is a teenager and most teens are now good with Photoshop and with technology at fingertips like TextNow or 2nd line (you can see he actually uses TextNow to scam at 6:09) so maybe he made two TextNow numbers as all it requires is a mail account
2) He has watched Pleasant Green before, this means he already knows Pleasant Green's weakness that is when someone tolds that he/she is not well and is facing life threatening issues like diabetes or stomach issues, Pleasant Green helps them out that is what he taking advantage of
3) He has a full proof plan, if Pleasant Green would have said that chat in group then he simply would have said he has slow internet or his internet pack is over and therefore he was offline

I'm a Nigerian and I also think that you got double scammed. These things are usually well planned in such a way that you don't see it coming. I mean, why would he avoid a video chat? We also encounter scammers here on a frequent basis and that's how we've learned to not fall prey.

Our bad government is all the problem, the leaders are steadily embezzling national funds and nobody is doing anything about it. Youths started doing anything and everything to survive(not supporting them though)
It's not very impossible like you said, but unity is what we don't have in Nigeria. The Northern part have seized power since 1960 Nigeria got her independence from their colonial master. It's a lot of insecurity and terrorism in the country. There is really a lot happening that the World doesn't know.

As a Nigerian I find it hard to believe this story. From the line of conversation and the use of words like "pawn shops" makes it very unbelievable considering we don't have or use those words to qualify outlets that buys second handed items.
Secondly no Nigerian scammer will give you this much audience knowing you are aware he is a scammer.
And so many other off conversations.
Nigeria do speak good English you know and many of us know how to relate with foreigners and since he is a scammer he know the words he should use to communicate to foreigner else he will be caught.
But I understand you perfectly!
Many of us are educated just bad governance and slows down economy and corruption but we can’t just die we have to do anything to survive and thanks to put government and the white supremacy
I understand what you mean but our vocabulary changes especially when we have to speak to a non African. I personally use different terminologies when talking to a British person or an American.
Terms like “chain of restaurants” can be used in a sentence by a Nigerian when speaking to a Brit but if he’s well learned, he’d use “franchise restaurant” when communicating with an American. Same meaning two different approach in choice of words and terminology.

I pray every day that God provides for us. My son needs dental operation and we need to pay our doctor so I can get a script for chronic epilepsy medication for me. Our medical aid ran out of funds in the savings, only cover we have now is hospital. But the dental surgery asks $200 about, which we have to pay cash. Cash that we don't have. Scamming is so evil. My resort for money we don't have, is sell stuff like dishwasher for food. Since we lost that money through that scam, we are in debt with the Bank, debt that we can't pay back. Our credit card account is frozen till all has been paid. If only we weren't scammed... But thanks for the quote. Now I can forgive.

I work in a hospital in Nigeria and I can tell you authoritatively that fasting blood sugar costs less than a dollar here and insulin injections doesn't cost that much either. From my inference you got scammed by someone from another nationality, using Nigeria as a smokescreen. Scammers are everywhere. Before you embark on such generosity seek my counsel.

I needed to hear this I continue to help friends and people that aren't really friends I went back and paid everyone I owed anything to even if it was 5 years ago! 2 of the times I sent money I didn't really have I literally made money that night through a completely different transaction so I really do have faith that paying it forward it comes back to you 10 fold, even if the people you lend money to don't pay you back🙏

I'm in the USA and I also know the pain and suffering. Not trying to make light of James situation, but I had just turned 12 and was left homeless by my parents. Just saying this to show that the rich Americans are a minority. Most are living paycheck to paycheck, if they have a job, to survive.

It kind of broke my heart that there are others in the world who had to resort to such acts such as scamming to survive, what is normally a given to us in the Western world. If you compare the need for insulin & medical procedures to Christmas presents, the luxury of the presents seems insignificant. I know it’s terrible to be scammed, but if I had known that he needed it for medical reasons to live, & he was remorseful, I would forgive him. We all need to be kind & empathetic. There need to be an organisation that assists Nigerian youths to better their job prospects & livelihood 🙁

Please live is so hard in Nigeria, even we that work and earn salary. It’s not enough to meet our needs. I had to pay a 600 thousands naira for my mums admission and discharge last month. That was my life savings and I can’t watch her die. If you care I could send you documents. Even if I cry here no one will help me. Regardless I decided not to scam. But my ex class mates into these lifestyles made me seem like I am not smart at all. But just for the fear of God. I am a graduate. Studied physiology from university of Lagos. Trained my self on job as a cardiovascular physiologist. I run carotid Doppler, transcranial dopplers, lower and upperlimb dopplers. I earn a 94,000 naira after tax. Still I ain’t living a comfortable life. Now if these is the case for me how about some folks that earn way below I can’t imagine how difficult life would be for them. I am still seeking for how to clear my quick loan I secured from Guaranteed trust bank in Nigeria. For my mums upkeep. It’s emotional here. At times I feel bad. At times I am tempted. But I have conscience and this is not enough reason to scam. It would be a waste of time putting my bank details here. Naturally people need you to earn favours. I have a debt of 140,000 naira left to pay GTB. I have the documents here with me. All option left on me is to get a loan to pay my loan. Or pay from the salary that isn’t enough to pay my bill of which I have my rent to pay December. But a scammer would get that from just one American and wouldn’t have to pay. Anyways I am not hopeless. If I get help here it’s fine and if I don’t it’s fine as well. I would never scam. If you need proof and validation before you can help me I don’t mind providing you all details of all I have stated.
