Amazed how he recited that lengthy monologue. Tremendous.
"Louise, who parked that decomposing rattle trap in my space?"
😂😂😂
"And if you need further assistance, please get in touch" that look they exchanged at the end! Powerful. They both knew the game was afoot and both relished the adventure to come. A great episode.
What episode was it ,, ?? I got watch it NOW!!!

@@geezz99it's in the description. "Agenda for Murder"
RIP Patrick and Peter...
Two brilliant television and motion picture actors.
The way Mcgoohan laughs at Columbo's joke:
'You call that a lining'
Lol I’m on my 5th rewatch of the entire series and ironically enough I’m on this episode. Fantastic.
Great timing! 👍
I've been watching criminal interviews lately, and one thing I've learned is when someone is lying, they tend to embellish their lies with extensive details, thinking it makes it sound more true.
Pretty sure Colombo caught that, making the lawyer the number one suspect immediately.
Yeah, and plus, maybe it's not the best idea in the world to tell the cops right up front before they even have a chance to say anything:
"I know you're here to question me about a murder that took place last night."
(To paraphrase McGoohan's actual words. My paraphrase actually strikes to the heart of what was said BETTER THAN what was actually said, IMAO.)
@@anonamust8697 What he actually said was "You're here to talk to me about the death of Frank Staplin. I can give you just 5 minutes."
@@terratec1001 And your point is?……
I don’t give two shits what he “ACTUALLY said”. My paraphrased version of what was said and/or alluded to was all I was focused on when I commented.
Anyway......
Thanks for the correction that amounts to nothing more than a troller’s intrusion and everything, but I think the way I paraphrased what was said actually worked quite well.
But you did get me to acknowledge that it was paraphrasing-which was actually an integral part of my comment to begin with, if you were smart enough to figure that out. Evidently, not everyone was.
Got any other brilliant comments ?…..
Actually, what he said was very basic. He just used a lot of words to say it.
@@HallyVee - He was certainly filibustering to a degree.
I love how at 1:46 Louise glances over at Columbo. She tells her boss she doesn’t know the answer to his question but she’s pretty sure Columbo, judging by his appearance and demeanor, would be the type to own a car that would fit the description of “decomposing rattle trap”
I thought i heard "oxidizing"
@@kalen7126that’s later on in the scene
Columbo already has the clue that turns him on the scent: the obvious dry spot in the wet parking lot. He'll be in touch, sir, don't you worry. 😉
I can imagine Patrick McGoohan sitting with the director while they go over the script saying “this monologue of mine while meeting Columbo is much too short. Make it ten times longer.” When the director says “that would be spendid idea, Patrick,” McGoohan gives the director a hard look and says “IS IT…?!”
Love the fast-talking lawyer! 😂😂😂

This guy was caught by Columbo in two previous EPS but he got acquitted. This is one where he finally gets caught.
Nope, he was acquitted from this one too and had one last try in "Ashes to Ashes".
Finch: “Am I the most villainist of all the criminals you caught, Columbo?”
Columbo: “No, sir. I’d say you were number six.”
That ought to be Santini. Hard to top an actual Nazi's villany
We want information.
@@testshietchannelit depends if you are ranking the crime itself, or the whole background (which may include other crimes). if it's the former, then I'd say it is generally more villainous to murder people that implicitly trust the murderer on an intimate level, eg. by being their family members rather than business associates, competitors etc.
@@vibovitold I guess I can see your point 🤷
That look Columbo gives at the end.
Oxidised relic 😂😂😂
As a younger man, I was glad to see this actor's appearances, seeing him younger than his Braveheart role. A great villain.
For me, the best moment in the entire film is when Columbo is on his hands and knees in Oscar's office explaining the blood and gun scenario. The look/stare that Oscar, whilst sitting in his chair, gives to Columbo fascinating.
The secretary was in the Star Trek TNG episode "The Survivors". Definitely worth checking out.
Wonderful acting from both of them!
Did anyone else notice that when Rebecca is explaining to Columbo how the fax machine works she is rather upset, but in the following scene when they enter Staplin's office her demeanour has changed completely when she says "Yes, it's a sophisticated instrument...". She is rather jolly now.
I like the pun in the title. I believe he played an undertaker. Hence the pun and A Cadet comander. In an episode. Fantastic actors both
I'm going to have to get the DVD set of this series. I love this show. Binge watched the original series on Amazon a couple of years ago, and have gone back several times since. There's no other show like this.
Its free
@@daandemooij1594 For now it is. But I don't think the later TV movies are available. I'd love to see those again.
I remember this episode and the respect everyone had for the Congressman. George Santos came to mind.
Excellent!
I’m amazed how essential when you listen to Patrick McGoohan’s dialogue here the delivery is almost identical to the scene in the train in silver streak where he was planning the murder of gene wilder and Jill Clayburgh.
That lady was in Mrs Doubtfire
Louise reminds me of Mrs. Peck from Double Shock.
Louise, who parked that decomposing rattletrap in my space?
I just watched “Escape from Alcatraz” with Clint Eastwood for the first time in a long time. I forgot that Patrick McGoohan portrayed the prison Warden!
I like to watch Columbo video over and over🥰🌹🌹😇
Peter Falk was entertaining and you couldn't quite keep up with his logic until it all came together in the end when he would lay it all out.
This is the same person who threw someone out of a castle on Braveheart
ouiii patrick McGoohan dans braveheart
Patrick McGoohan and Peter Falk what a great acting duo ❤

I love this episode
Patrick McGoohan is excellent
Is the secretary Anne Haney? 😊
I always thought folks that announced 1st were dicks, being 1st for Columbo was a bit cool.

Mr. Finch is a famous lawyer, his loss was caused by the fact that he is an animal lover and loves mice, which is why he left the piece of cheese he bit into earlier, even though he knew it could be bad if the mice didn't eat it, because they were having dinner.
Isnt that the lady from Liar Liar
