There hasn't really been a 2000s horror franchise with the same impact as any of those, that decade was just sequels, reboots and one-off movies. I guess The conjuring or The purge might have the 2010s, we'll have to see which one finishes strongest by 2020.
The reboot Freddy was fucking Horrible. If Robert England is not playing Freddy Krueger then it's not worth watching. The Original Freddy Krueger can never be beat.

At the time most of them were hulking silent brutes who couldn’t be reasoned with, but also didn’t seem to understand what they were doing. And then you had this guy who not only understood everything he was doing but was laughing at you the whole time. It was such a change to have a killer who was not only frightening but clever and sadistic.
"He trains a young apprentice in the dream world, who unfortunately turn on him and Freddy is absorbed by his mother." I saw the movie and that still confused me.
The script was unfinished and they would be making shit up as they were filming. They also cut out quite a bit of scenes from the 3rd and 4th act which makes things seem really messy and disjointed.
No he wouldn't be able to cuz some of the stones u HAVE TO BE WORTHY to possess (aka the soul stone) and just like red skull, freddy wouldn't ever be able to do it cuz he loves nothing

I watched all the old Nightmare films and i love the remake. It adds what Wes Craven wanted to add with Freddy being a child molester but he didn't want the character to be hated so it got dumbed down to child murderer. In the short film Nightmares in Red White and Blue this was stated by Wes Craven himself.

First off I’d like to say that the quality of the animation in these videos is amazing, and (I know you get many requests) but I think that a common request for “Leatherface” is a good idea.
Honestly the guy who played Freddy in the remake wasn't bad. The problem was the writing was too desperate to copy the originals works and the most famous kill being a copy/paste situation. Granted New Nightmare did the same famous kill but they added to it by showing Freddy working, even dragging a woman to the ceiling. If they just tried to keep him doing new kills and even new one liners, it woulda been pretty good.
@Elijah Steeby Yeah, they focused on the Remake Krueger. He doesn't say anything in it. 1 bit worth noting is they did have Robert England voice as Scarecrow in Injustice 2. That was just a fantastic choice.
Hey was not shirtless for the first time in dream warriors. He was shirtless in the nightmare on elm street (Original), he cut himself on the chest where the worms and green goo appeared. Just saying, but still an amazing video, keep it up.

Honestly I could watch every one of those and never get tired of them. Robert Englund is such an underrated and talented actor it sucks so much that he's Typecast half of the time. The Remake is good and those actors did such a good job and that movie but you just can't beat the originals
