Hey, just wanted to note that your screen transitions are awesome and add that hint of humor which made these very enjoyable! Hopefully the new 3ds gets a US release soon because you have greatly increased my interest from these videos.
This new series of videos have been so very informative. Thank you very much for showing us all this details and neat stuff. I have a question to ask. As you mentioned, you can use an international credit card for unlocking the parental control. Can you use one to buy games too? I'm really thinking about getting a Japanese 3DS and stick to digital releases, but it would be much easier with the credit card insted of buying card codes. Thank you very much again, hope to see more of this coming and, of course, keep up the great work!
jaimexdxd Great question! I think I tried before and the nintendo eShop can only register Japanese credit cards. The parental control thing appears to be a one-time purchase and so foreign cards work, but you can't use it to re-charge your eShop eWallet.
NihongoGamer Does that mean their policy has changed? I have a Japanese 3ds XL (not the New 3ds) and I can just charge my eWallet with my (Dutch) credit card MasterCard. I hope I can still use my MaterCard with the New 3ds which I just ordered a few days ago at Play-Asia (Nippon-Yasan sells the New 3ds at a significantly lower price btw, but I figured this out after my purchase at Play-Asia). EDIT: After giving this some thought, I would say that my credit card will work just fine.
NihongoGamer Yes, indeed ; ) Follow-Up: I've just gotten my New 3ds, and succesfully charged my wallet with MasterCard so there is no problem \(^o^)/ {Hooray!)
I use it for GameFAQs as well. Now that it actually loads webpages in an acceptable amount of time I've gotten a surprising amount of utility out of the web browser.
Puffy Sadly the region coding and language is not changeable. If you want to play non-Japanese region games or anything in English I'd recommend waiting for the western release. Thanks for the support! I drink a lot of coffee, might explain the genki-ness.
Anas Zaoui yea but can you tell me if it will work with games from Israel? the games cards there end with EUR. Israel is also pal but I don't know if there are different kinds of pals or not
Great video, it's nice to get a side to side comparison. Detailed and informative. My opinion on the New 3DS: I feel like people are over-excited for this, no offense. Basically I can do everything on my normal 3DS that I need to do (gaming on the 3DS), I don't need internet or youtube I have my laptop for that. They just added these few shiny things and polished it a little and to me it looks like people are a little over-excited about it on forums and whatnot. it really doesn't seem worth it unless you have little to no financial burden, only then would you actually think "uh why wouldn't you get it? it does everything better than 3DS". For me, I'd still need and want to save up for my own HDTV, a PS4, real life, real life, and more real life so there's really no space for another system that.. well I don't even need. Even if I had a lot of money though, I don't know. It still seems like a.. 3DS ver. 1.2, or 1.4 to be nice. Not too impressed, to be honest. I'll be waiting for their next handheld, the 3DS ver. 2.0 that will make 3DS obsolete.
NihongoGamer, sorry if I missed you covering this: How well does the head tracking feature work for 3D? Especially compared to viewing 3D on the previous system(s)?
Actually no. With the old 3DS there is another bottleneck - the system has the same wifi equipment, but the actual processor of the original 3DS was slow enough to bottleneck the internet speed. A side-by-side comparison where both systems are on the same network at the same time really doesn't show it properly, but the New 3DS does download games and webpages a lot faster.
Joe Hernandez Good question! Yes, I used to work as a videogame music composer in the UK. I still compose on the side and my stuff should be viewable online at majorc.co.uk

Old 3ds (takes eternity and a half before websites load)
Thanks for the video!

I'll give it another try, I'm not entirely sure. I generally stick with points cards but the credit card option would be much more convenient.
Just realized you both answered, notifications seem to be kind of weird.Thank you, I would appreciate if you give it a try.

North american 3d's do not have the filter
neither the european one
Thanks for this ^_^
I have a question for the web browser on the new 3ds must buy?
Anas Zaoui there's a parental lock but it can be unlocked with a credit card payment of roughly 30 cents
Euro cents that's how
NihongoGamer I don't mind. it would be like donation Nintendo for such an awesome system! I'm gonna preorder the pal version from play-asia.
***** The australian pal version and will release on November 23 I think.
Anas Zaoui yea but can you tell me if it will work with games from Israel? the games cards there end with EUR. Israel is also pal but I don't know if there are different kinds of pals or not
I got a new 3ds Europe model
Great video, it's nice to get a side to side comparison. Detailed and informative.

NihongoGamer, sorry if I missed you covering this: How well does the head tracking feature work for 3D? Especially compared to viewing 3D on the previous system(s)?
i have an old 3ds and some eshop games like the dk games say only for the new one, kinda confused as to what is so special
Why the circle pad on the new DS 3d clicks
Btw the download comparison is kinda stupid if you ask me it all depends on you're internet then it installs.
Actually no. With the old 3DS there is another bottleneck - the system has the same wifi equipment, but the actual processor of the original 3DS was slow enough to bottleneck the internet speed. I have a random question, I saw the music equipment in the background do you produce music?
Joe Hernandez Good question! Yes, I used to work as a videogame music composer in the UK. I still compose on the side and my stuff should be viewable online at majorc.co.uk
Est-ce que les jeux de la 3ds vont avec la new ? Merci de me répondre .

I'm french ! Does the 3ds games go with the new 3ds , tank you to answer me . I used Google translation .
Will the Japan virson have English any day soon
Sebastian Fernando Peraltilla Nope. I don't think it'll ever support English, best to just wait for the proper western release.
😫 when I see Flipnote Studio 3D
If you buy the japanese version can you change language to english?
Yes, when you set it up it asks you to choose the language.
