    One of the best cockpit vids I've seen. The GT40s are a handful, the scrapping is awesome, Mr Brundle a master of his craft 🏁❤️

    The Six Hours are such an amazing event to attend. Just walking around the paddocks and seeing all those beautiful machines. And the aesthetics when the sun sets and you just watch the lights fly by. And absolutely no mercy for those valuable cars, simply driving them how they were designed to be driven. And this onboard is also amazing to watch now

    Amazing, close racing is hairy enough nowadays, let alone when the cars are sliding around like crazy, let alone multiclass! Some of the best racing I've seen, Bravo! :)

    Stellar in car camera footage. Spectacular historic cars. Amazing historic fast track. Exemplary battle between you and the silver car. You had a better exit out of the second apex at Eau Rouge every lap, but it was a challenge to translate that into position on the following straight. Some of the best lap after lap dicing that I've seen in over half a century of tv, you tube and in person spectating.
    The driver of the silver car was fast and aggressive. I'm sure he was too aggressive for your liking. It's difficult to deal with a driver like that. He's making his car wide, blocking at every opportunity and shutting the door every time you stick your nose in. From the lead car's perspective, he owns the corner and has every right to own the apex. From the passing car's perspective, the front of your car is almost even with his front axle. You feel that you have a right to be given room and he's pushing you off the track. It's a classic racing conundrum.
    You did well to keep the pressure on, stay cool, bide your time and finally make the pass stick.
    Outstanding driving, outstanding footage. Thanks for the thrills!!

    Great to watch the master at work. Although a GT40 won the 6H event outright (a 1966 spec sports proto type with 500bhp and one of nearly 20 taking part.
    It is amusing to note that less than a lap behind this winning 4700cc Ford was a 1965 Lotus Elan in the sub 1600cc GTS10 class...Indeed, there were 3 Elans in the top 8 cars, 5 GT40s. Congratulations in particular to Jordan Racing!

    • @BrundleBTW
      @BrundleBTW  ปีที่แล้ว +6

      It’s all about fuel. Elans are not too far behind on pace and stop only once in the race.
      Although it’s also worth noting that all cars are limited to 100L per stop.
      If you allowed the GT40’s a full fill every time they would be further ahead. That said… it was an epic performance by JRT

    That green GT40 was GONE by the exit of Eau Rouge, never to be seen again.
    Great driving here--the faster the corner the more advantage this driver had. The only place the other two GT40s caught him/gapped him were on the two slow turns flanking the front straight.
    Impressive cars and impressive driving. Had my pulse rate up. Fantastic.

    Are most of these Ford GTs the real thing?

    • @BrundleBTW
      @BrundleBTW  ปีที่แล้ว +4

      No, to be honest.
      But if they were you’d be talking about a 200 million £ grid. It would be uninsurable and the race wouldn’t happen. So… it’s this or nothing realistically.

    • @miichaelneri4687

      @@BrundleBTW How close are these to the originals, and do they handle about the same as they did back in the day?

    • @BrundleBTW
      @BrundleBTW  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@miichaelneri4687they are toolroom cars, so exact spec including material rigidity.
      So I’d say they handle more like a 60’s car than the current originals. Because they are the same… but new. Just like they were then!

      @@BrundleBTWappreciate your honest answer. What puzzles me is the enormous difference in speed. At 28:16 notice how easily the GT40s pass a TVR Griffith series 400. A lightweight car with a similar engine.

    I belive the early GT40 was 4 Gear, and later they become 5 Gear.

    Have to say it again...... Fuck you good thru Erouge and radion ..... your old man was just as good thru the very fast corners..... chip off the old block 👍 say cheers to ya old man for me. He’s was a very .. very underrated driver in F1. . If he had a decent drive.... he would’ve shocked a a lot of people. Anyway. Your driving style reminds me of ya dad. All the best champ. 👍🥃🇦🇺

    Alex, you're a consummate professional, but some of driving standards of some of the other drivers were simply appalling given that this is racing in classics and not a tier -one FIA championship where each constructors' point can be worth millions of dollars in revenue share.
