regarding health insurance costs : they are even higher in some countries *but* they actually do get you literally every treatment for free there (yes, including rather obscure and/or complex ones) - including medication. No questions asked, no problems. Plus : you can switch to private insurance and get up to 50% of your insurance money back if you pay the doctors' bills yourself.

The main thing is to make sure to pay your credit card bill on time and in full when/if you have a balance due. That is the only thing I would consider using the credit card for. I rarely use a credit card since I normally pay cash for everything. I prefer to use debit card or cash mainly. Other countries that have free/low cost healthcare coverage and education pay a lot income and investment taxes, in exchange, governments provide free/low cost healthcare and education.

They are also planning to tax people for putting money into a pension. European taxes are also very high. Particularly the Nordics

It's called high-deductible. If you want covered, you should cover Out of Pocket the first $5K. After that, you're getting good coverage. The next year, you pay again the $5K. So people try to get as much they can get medical procedures on the same year. Sometimes they delay and lump up all on same year which is not really advisable but for those who survives it, they only pay the deductible once as opposed to multiple years.
