I have about $100k in emergency fund and I have been seeing good news about the stock market and would like to gain from that since I can’t let my savings be corroded by inflation. What stocks should I into as a newbie to safely grow my money.
Things are strange right now. The US dollar is becoming less valuable because of inflation, but it's getting stronger compared to other currencies and things like gold and property. People are turning to the dollar because they think it's safer. I'm worried about my retirement savings of about $420,000 losing value because of high inflation. Where else can we keep our money?
It's often true that people underestimate the importance of financial advisors until they feel the negative effects of emotional decision-making. I remember a few summers ago, after a tough divorce, when I needed a boost for my struggling business. I researched and found a licensed advisor who diligently helped grow my reserves despite inflation. Consequently, my reserves increased from $275k to over $750k.
You need to recheck your math. I thought you said 230,000 was the whole and she only gets half of it goes to her and her husband. She really only gets 2/3 of the half.
I think the 230000 is from her husband's house. From her mother, she gets about 65000 only. I don't know what her relationship with her husband is but I'd recommend seeing a marriage counselor to fix the relationship with her husband since he seems to want to stay married, is a nice guy and loves her, judging from his actions. She should fix her finances and marriage and not hope for money at other people's loss.
I feel lost now that I'm 47 years old and jobless. With $425,000 saved for an early retirement at age 50, $10,000 in an HSA, and a property that could yield an extra $200,000, what opportunities do I have for passive income?
I'm wondering if I should merge all of my investing accounts into one. How should I proceed and are there any repercussions I should be aware of if I decide to do this? In addition, I plan to sell my property, which could result in an additional 200K over time. Is it better to diversify over a few different industries or combine everything into one investing account?

That pension thing happened to one of my relatives who got divorced in a community property state. He retired about a decade after his divorce and was LIVID to learn that part of his pension payment would go to his ex-wife. She got somewhat less than half; there was some formula to determine her share based on the number of years during which the marriage and his time with that employer overlapped. She raised his babies, she kept his home, she lost years of her life... how has she not earned half of his assets!? Stay-at-home moms have a job, and it’s her husband’s duty to provide for her I don't know what most aging folks do when they have no one, I took a major financial blow by not working while watching both of my parents die. If not for me, they would have been forced to rely on my sister (not ideal) or whatever aid they may have received from their insurance. My brothers lived too far away to be of any help.
So fathers missing out on seeing their kids grow up so mom can stay at home is a better option? He was a good person as she admitted, so why bail on him at 63? To suggest she made more sacrifices is laughable, and for her to deliberately wait for him to retire is thief and disgusting
@@ozz748 they could have built a life where they are both working and they are both caregivers, so both of them have independent wealth and have a chance to spend time with they children. They decided not to do that. I have a strong feeling, that the husband in this case knows exactly what's going to happen with the assets but he is an actual traditional man who knows the assets built together should serve every party involved during the time of creation. Every family model has their pros and cons. A stay-at-home wife comes with a lot of perks from a managed household to bragging rights but they are cons for both of the parties: for the wife the dangers of the lack of financial independence and loss of value in the labour market, for the husband is missed time with the children and what he earns are not entirely his even in case of the divorce. More progressive family dynamics have its pros and cons as well, but different pros and cons. One thing for sure: one cannot have a stay-at-home wife and keep all the earnings as well. One cannot have they cake and eat it too.
How did she lose years of her life in any way that any other 63 year old hasn't? By raising children that are equally hers? By caring for the home she lived in? By living those years with someone she chose to marry and have kids with? Her husband provided for her during those years while she was doing that, clearly, why does he have any obligation to her after the separation? What obligations does she have to him now that means he owes half his pension? I've been a SAHP for over twenty years, I home educated all my kids through primary. I did not lose years, I have had amazing years. I also have savings and can manage my finance. I think her plan is disgusting and I hope it backfires on her.

Graham - you are too young to know that’s a normal monthly rate for a unit in a retirement community. Many are higher - $7,000 or do. It includes usually at least one meal a day, a pool and gym classes, groups (she mentions bingo), housekeeping, laundry of sheets, etc. She’s just “crashing” at the place it seems. Husband forking over some money for it to keep her THERE away from him. Who knows what crazy plan she had before the acting dream, he’s sick of it and maybe sick of her drinking? She also looks like she was cute when young and only looks counted. So the shopping is to try to keep up the looks. Hair coloring, Botox, clothes, nails, etc
It's probably because the man was right and she was spending money trying to be an actress and wasting tons of their income instead of working and adding to the family's wealth she was upset at the man and pulled away because he was telling her truth she didn't want to hear why doesn't she tell us the movie and the parts and all that stuff if she did then we would know the husband was right

The best insurance protecting your financial future is never getting married. Just date or LTR, if a breakup happens things are simpler without the legal mess and losing money.
UNPOPULAR OPINION I don't really understand the American family law system or the culture around family finance in the States as I'm Eastern European, but... If she was a stay-at-home mum/wife - as I understand the reason for the separation was that the husband didn't like that she started to do her own thing - and during the marriage they didn't build a separate estate/holding for her than yes, morally everything he earned during the marriage (except inheritance, gifts and premarital wealth) are theirs and should be split half/half without shame, guilt or blame. That's not gold digging, not stealing, not leeching, not exploitation. If a family decides that one of the adults have only stay-at-home responsibilities, that should be the norm, because if that's not the case, than barefoot and pregnant can quickly go to barefoot and homeless. That's why so many women is trying to warn young wives about the dangers of the tradwife to single mom pipeline. And I'm saying this as a stereotypical progressive/high earner/feminist/boss babe/independent career woman, who could never live like that. But often conservative people ask me what's my problem with the traditional family model and I always answer that nothing, as long as all parties are protected and when I say that I mean exactly this. I think the husband here is not exploited and not a loser but a conservative, traditional man. He could have married a working wife - or could have agreed with her in a family model where she works. He made a decision not to do that. He can afford this and he understood all the responsibilities that come with that. Responsibilities, that apply beyond the end of the marriage in the timeline. And that's fine. Actually that's the only way that stay-at-home wifing and traditional family models should be done.
@IrisP989 They not so secretly desire the gold diggers. They love to spend on women, show off, and then cry gold digger when they are done. All along, they were offering the gold on a platter in exchange for... 😅

Now I want to buy protein powder! Thanks a lot Graham! 🤣
She’s too old. Her habits won’t change. It’s engraved in her daily life. I’m sorry to say this but she’s a loss cause. If she really wanted to change she could have done it decades ago.
Why is her ex husband getting 1/3 of her mothers money?
Wow. Eating shopping drinking exercise are the non-work choices
DUI
Credit Card Debt
She finally woke up
Prenups. They’re not just for “rich” people.
We haven’t forgotten what you’ve done. 😂😂
Great video
It's probably because the man was right and she was spending money trying to be an actress and wasting tons of their income instead of working and adding to the family's wealth she was upset at the man and pulled away because he was telling her truth she didn't want to hear why doesn't she tell us the movie and the parts and all that stuff if she did then we would know the husband was right
Wait until he brings this video into court with him during the divorce!
Heavens to Betsy woman!! the best mathematical choice is to rehabilitate your marriage. Find a way to fall in love with your husband again.
I think he is done with HER and is giving her mother money to keep her
Lock in those rates in CDs
I make $3,300 but my monthly credit card is around $4,500-5k a month. Single mom no child support & am actually supporting an elder at home and a lazy brother who doesn’t contribute🤷♀️
I’ll be on the street by the time I’m this lady age😵💫
You accumulate 5k every month in debt?
Go get a backbone and clean out the freeloader
She looks like Emma from degrassi
What matcha protein powder do you use?
Instead of shopping for a hobby she should get a job.
So, you finally discovered the 304 retirement plan…. There’s a reason guys are no longer getting married…
So she broke up her family. Got it.
It’s cheaper to divorce her NOW! 🤦🏽♂️ I hope he sees this
Gram, she gets his pension whether she divorces him or not.
It sounds like his advice is brilliant to her because she’s not money savvy. It ‘s most likely a generational issue so try not to judge her too harshly. (don’t use the knowledge of our generation to measure her)❤
Its really needful for beginners not to settle for videos alone or they will see themselves losing all their money just like me when I newly started trading with this videos here on TH-cam.
You have a very valid point, I started investing on my own and for a long time, the market was really ripping me off. I decided to hire a CFA, even though I was skeptical at first, and I beat the market by more than 9%. I thought it was a fluke until it happened two years in a row, and so I've been sticking to investing via an analyst.
I learn a lot from "Caroline Suzan Olson, she's a big name in her field with more than 20 years of experience. You should look her up online for more info.
@@BruceRogers-t4qVery much appreciated. I just inputted Caroline Suzan Olson on the internet, spotted her consulting page ranked top, and was able to schedule a call session. I've seen commentaries about advisors, but not one looks this phenomenal.
@@BruceRogers-t4qI feel venture capitalist should be focusing on under-the-radar bonds, and considering the current rollercoaster nature of the bonds market, Because 35% of my $270k valise comprises of plummeting bonds which were once revered and i don't know where to go here out of devastation.
Safest approach i feel to tackle it is to diversify investments. By spreading investments across different asset classes, like bonds, real estate, and international stocks, they can reduce the impact of a market meltdown.
This woman has no morals or shame!
Don’t feel sorry for her. She has been calculated. Has no accountability and isn’t as stupid as she appears.
Marriage is the worst financial move a man can make in 2024
Marriage to the WRONG person is. You have to vet properly (don't ignore those red flags), and marriage can be beneficial and lasting for both parties.
@@octavia307 It CAN work, but it often doesn't.
As a woman who makes more than most of the men my age- I feel the same, never doing it again! No thanks! Painful
Not a man... Anyone with money
The best insurance protecting your financial future is never getting married. Just date or LTR, if a breakup happens things are simpler without the legal mess and losing money.
she cant do that in afghanistan
What a train wreck...
Still liking. Hope you been well
UNPOPULAR OPINION
I don't really understand the American family law system or the culture around family finance in the States as I'm Eastern European, but...
This lady seems like a free loader to me
She sounds drunk
She makes me nauseous
She brought her husband nothing to the table but overspending and headaches. Now she gets half of HIS income that HE worked his whole life. Women.
Stay single gentlemen.
And women

Not everyone is bad.. You just need to
figure out the gold diggers, etc. and avoid them.
Not every woman is bad. But would you jump out of an airplane if you knew that there was a 50% chance that the parachute wouldn’t open?
@IrisP989 They not so secretly desire the gold diggers. They love to spend on women, show off, and then cry gold digger when they are done. All along, they were offering the gold on a platter in exchange for... 😅
wow, this female is sooo spoiled

I'm favoured financially, Thank you Jesus $32,000 weekly profit regardless of how bad it gets on the economy.
It's Geraldine Ann Philips doing she's changed my life. A BROKER- like her is what you need.
YES!!! that's exactly her name (Mrs Geraldine Ann Philips) so many people have recommended highly about her and I'm just starting with her from Brisbane Australia🇦🇺
Though I started with as low as $15,000 actually because it was my first time and it was successful, She's is a great personality in the states.
Yay, Romain is better than Caleb. He's respectful, doesn't yell, and his thumbnails aren't sexual. He keeps it very PG13 and shareble with the youth.
Their styles work better for different types of people. Romain is easier to listen too
This TH-camr is such a breath of fresh air from the other one who shall-not-be-named who does "audits," aka being extremely mean to guests, fatphobic, and saying distasteful mental illness jokes.
He isn't fat phobic. He mentions health alot and says he gets how hard it is but you need to take care of yourself and not waste money on takeout. That's not fat phobic
