After 26 years, my Firestorm ( Canadian :) Is still running strong…especially at higher Rpm! Love its torque and wicked exhaust note!! She still is plenty thrilling to ride 😎
I have same bike; same colour too. The gas key is different than the ignition key, quite a bit longer. I think it's a feature. BTW, I had to turn sound off because of the annoying music.
I've got a question for you Superhawkers. I have a '98, and I absolutely love everything about the bike, however, the handlebars absolutely kill my hands. It puts so much of my upper body weight on the heels of my hands, its actually painful. There are lots of options for installing different bars, risers, etc, but in order to change the position enough to make them comfortable, the fairing either has to be removed or cut. I really don't want to cut it, as the Honda plastics are no longer made. The other option would be to remove the fairing, but this bike is funky looking as hell without the fairing. Though about polishing everything under the fairing, but I would still have to install another headlight assembly. There really is no easy solution. Do any of you have any thoughts on this subject?
I rode with 3/4 inch risers for years and about five years ago I converted to a superbike bar which is much more comfortable and pretty well perfect. Together with the Double bubble screen works really well especially as I am almost 70 😎
Nice to see a newish video oh the Hawk. I have the 2006 model and was wondering did you have to close the petcock on the bottom of the tank before removing it? Theres only info about the old model tank in the Haynes manual.
Do you still have your 919? How do you like the superHawk compared to it? That’d be a great comparison video. Good stuff man, really liking the channel!
That's actually a great idea. I do still have my 919 and I actually have some thoughts about the two of these. Thanks for the idea man, if we get a couple warm days I'll put something together!
Awesome bro...I noticed you're also in Buckeye state? Not many off us superhawk riders out here. Have you done track days on it? I'm doing the tear down right now and rejetting the carbs. Thanks to your video....making this process so much easier!
I have a question maybe somebody can answer for me I look at the sp1 and it says VTR on it so my question is Super Hawk vtr1000 same power plant as the sp1 VTR?
@@rbmotorsports6344 lol not everyone will like what you like, I find it dope! I can still hear you clearly as the music isnt that loud anyway. Keep up the good videos!
Just bought my 2005 VTR1000F for 2000$ couple days ago can't wait to drive it

I owned the same exact bike in the same color i bought new in 2005. I traded it for an FZ-09 in 2019 and I still miss it.
Hi, where did you get the Carb rebuild kits from? Please stop using the Music it's much better Hearing the Ambient Noise 👍

Did you happen to get an answer or solve your issue? Any help would be much appreciated
@@fonz1anddone713Yes, my body actually acclimated to the seating position...

That thing is amazing
The leak under your tank is you coolant bottle I have the same problem block of the pipe from the radiator to the coolant bottle it work
It actually ended up being the O ring, for the fitting that goes on the head. I think I show it in part 2.
Have you replaced the factory camchain tensioner with the aftermarket manual camchain adjusters.?
The previous owner did it, so I've just kept em.

I did not, it has a vacuum petcock that seems to keep it pretty sealed up when the engine is off.

Hello I have the 2001 Super Hawk 996 anybody know what type of aluminum the frames are made out of? Any information would be highly appreciated
You try contacting Honda?

@@flow_922 yes and no, technically they're both labelled vtr since they're both twins, but the sp1 is fuel injected and the superhawk is carbed
That’s a 7000 dollar bike, I have that bike, my fuel gage does the same I have 3000k original miles.
haha Yea Mine has a quite a few more miles on it, but after some work is still pretty spry.
Not much of a rebuild if the bike is running and pristine
Great bike but the idiot music in the background ruins your video and makes it unwatchable.
Thanks for the feedback. Personally I like some background music. I'll try and find a better balance in future videos.
@@rbmotorsports6344 it's the type of music that is the problem, it is extremely annoying.

First thing I did was turn down the volume
Why the ridiculous music?
Ruined by annoying horrendous music.
