    This is how I understood it: -- first imagine yourself looking down on this rotating plate from top of the center. Draw the particle, the grove and the plate. At this instant name a poin A which is fixed on the grove and coincides with the particle at this instant. Now draw the velocity vectors of A and particle, which will be same here.
    -- now imagine dt time has passed, the grove has rotated by d(theta) and in this time the block will move by dx in the direction of the velocity it earlier had.
    -- now you might be a bit worried here for several reasons: thinking that the particle should rotate instead of going straight but there is no force or there component in that direction so that isn't possible.
    Also note that there would be some dx space between the particle and the groove walls between which this dx displacement has happened.

      Brother if it moved a dx distnace it's direction of velocity is changing that is w×r which is changing instantaneously

    The basic doubt here is about the frame of reference. If one looks at a particle on the rotating table in grounds frame, it shall not be radially outward only (as it is rotating). Also, there will be various other forces (forces and reaction on the groove). In that case ,ball moving in the groove carries no meaning if watched from grounds frame.

      Yup, but if imagine the path that it would take about the axis, it would look kind of spiralling outwards, with increasing tangential linear velocity and also the outward velocity along groove.

    I am amazed that nobody is saying that the particle is moving in a flat spiral ,,, which is visible from all frames,, table or outer frame both... If you can understand this then you can understand all the forces working on it.
    I am surprized that Verma ji himself could not make any clear answer on it in the last part of this discussion.

      Exactly in ground frame it's a flat spiral.
      He just mentioned the radial equation but didn't explain the answer.
      What it means is that, in radial direction acceleration is rate of (rate of change of r) and an -ve acceleration like gravity = w^2 r . Which is also called perceived gravity. But in this gravity objects falls outward.

    If Sir had explained in more detail, it would have been better. Sir said that even though the particle in the groove is moving away in the groove, no force is acting on it, when seen from the Ground frame. This needs to be elaborated more.

      I understood why it was by drawing diagrams of this phenomena:

      See bro, your question is absolutely intriguing..👍
      Now this statement that you mentioned that sir had said is absolutely confusing.
      Becoz howcome a body would accelerate in the direction where no force seems to be acting on it. Therefore there's surely a component of net force acting on the particle in the direction away from center along the groove which remains uncancelled that's why the body's accelerating radially outwards. I hope you're getting my point.
      Now not only is the body accelerating radially but also with the increasing radius (i.e. it's distance from the center), it's linear velocity around the axis is too rapidly increasing. If you just trynna imagine the path of the particle about the axis, it would appear to be spiralling outwards away from the center. So this actually shows that there's surely a net force which is driving the particle all the way along the groove to furthest positions away from center.
      Now this force is a result of the table spinning at a constant angular velocity about it's axis. This is what's causing a net force to act having an uncancelled component in the radially outward direction along groove as the walls of the groove are absolutely frictionless, this no resistance to the particle in moving outwards.

    That's a really appreciated explanation sir. But my doubt is if no force acts on it from the ground frame, can you please enlighten me how there is an increase in kinetic energy of the ball because if there is no force acting on the ball from ground frame, there should be no work done on the ball and hence there should not be change in kinetic energy.     Sir I am unable to solve this question which is given in your book from the chapter 'Centre of Mass'.
    ' A square plate of edge d and a circular disc of diameter d are placed touching each other at the midpoint of an edge of the plate. Locate the centre of mass of the combination, assuming same mass per unit area of the same plates

      It will be inside the square plate only. As You know that for a system of bodies, COM lies towards the heavy body. So when you calculate the area of square, you will get (d²) while for the Circular disc, it will be πd²/4 if its thickness is neglected. So on comparing both the values, you will find that the value of coefficient of d² i.e. π/4 is

      Xcordinate of COM=
      A1×X1 + A2×X2/X1+X2
      Where A1 and A2 ara of each shape
      X1 and X2 xcordinate COM of respective shape.
      Same formula for y cordinate

      X- coordinate of COM = {(A1×X1) + (A2×X2)}/(A1+A2)
      Where : A1 and A2 are the areas of square and circular plate respectively.
      X1 and X2 are the the X-Coordinates of their respective Geometric centres which are their own center of masses.

      Yes, there definitely there is a force called coriolis force (which by the way is a pseudo force). Search it on wikipedia.. Also, try to understand what happens when a military tank is fired or how sniper rifle's bullet traverses. Coriolis force makes them turn right or left defending upon which hemisphere it is traversing in. It's very interesting phenomenon.

      @@iamalive2826 I understand that, that's why i had mentioned in my post above, that it's a pseudo force. When we observe a phenomena from non-inertial frame of reference, pseudo force is needed to explain the apparent motion. That is what i had meant when i wrote the above comment. Had i mentioned that there's no such thing as a coriolis force or centrifugal force on account of it being a non-real force, then that person would have thought.. hmm, then what is Sir talking about, and what is this whole page on wikipedia about titled "coriolis force or centrifugal force". So, to ease the acceptance of these concepts, it needs to be told in a way that becomes slightly less threatening or confusing to the viewer. Once he/she has understood those concepts, then he/she would be willing to see the difference between a real force and a pseudo force. However, in order to prevent any confusion, in the first line itself, in my original post, i did mention that it is a pseudo force, so as not to imply that it is a real force. I hope this clears my point of view.

    From ground frame there is no force but still partical moves. It is evident from the fact that after one complete rotation its x coordinate has changed. Is this because earth is itself non inertial although the non inertiality is much less . Ground frame which we are considering is itself non inertial and the movement of particle in ground frame is due to pseudo forces like corriolis force

    Since time isnt involved, This could also be solved using conservation of Energy in a single step without the need of calculus. Intital rotational KE of the particle = final translational and rotational energy of the particle together. Although the classical approach by professor can be used even in the presence of a non conservative force. I always encourage my students to check for the feasibility of conservation priciples as long as time isnt involved

    we know that every object requires centripital force to move in cicular path
    But in this condition the particle is not getting any centripital force. So the particle will not move in circular path.
    And move outside the grove
