I've been running x5 on and off for years I can't believe i get to see any% at a GDQ!!! I always figured it was too hated for anyone to want to do it. I only run this game cause it's my first megaman so it's super nostalgic. Been getting back into it lately so this has been fun to relearn everything. Thanks for the run!!!
It’s been too long since X5 made an appearance on GDQ, best one in the series imo thank you so much for bringing back! I sure do miss the mega man x races tho :(
Runner constantly turns around to the couch to chat or crack a joke lol Runs like these are some of my favorite in GDQ when it's just a couple bros hanging out while playing games fast
Honestly spending a minute or two to do the engimanip may seem boring to outsiders but it's SO MUCH BETTER than redoing the intro stage over and over to maybe get a successful enigma lol.
You can choose either character for any stage no matter who you choose at the beginning unless Zero goes Maverick. You may want to choose X for the intro stage just so you don't lose his force armor. If you do choose X Zero loses his Z buster which is pretty useless anyway. Go ahead and try Zero. His Z sabre weapon is overpowered in this game and you can also get the double jump making the stages easier.
For a casual run I'd probably start with X just to get the armor he gets in the intro stage. Zero does a ton of damage though but you need to play more aggressively

Hitting start at a specific point on the first demo screen will make the cannon work 100%. It's seed manipulation.
how come speedrunners dont use the character select input code for instant ultimate armor?
