A busy hour at Peterborough station on Monday 22nd January 2024. I arrived on an LNER 91 from Kings Cross and spent just over an hour doing some filming. A fair bit of disruption at the north end of the ECML due to powerlines down between Dunbar & Edinburgh. A good mix of traffic and all train info added on screen.
    INCLUDES:
    LNER Azumas & 225 sets, LUMO IETs, Grand Central 180s & a Voyager, East Midlands Railway 170s & 158, Cross Country 170s, Thameslink 700.
    GBRF 66707, 66754, 66784 and DB Schenker (EWS) 66171.
Thanks for Watching this video from Peterborough

Those class 91 engines are very slow to pull away now compared to modern locomotives, another great video.

They’re going soon replaced by CAF ones

The first one was being driven by a trainee who was noticeably slow on the ride from London. But the second one took off a bit better

They don't leaveb this platform at full throttle because they have to cross the points onto the main through lines first which has a speed limit of 30mph I believe. But yes the modern units are much quicker off the mark.

They will still be of great use on electrified commuter lines in the very near future where pulling away quickly is less important than on the long distance ECML services.
Older class 43 trains still operate non electrified routes in Scotland, so the class 91's don't need to go to the scrapyard yet.

Class 800 Azuma could be to/from Inverness or Aberdeen.

Nice mix of traction and liveries. Things seem very slow on the through lines though... Usually coming through at 100+mph. TSR in place? Work further down the line?

Yes I thought the same thing. So potentially a TSR somewhere in area.
