It definitely could have been a feral person Black Mass Paranormal Bryan speaks about the feral people in the smoky mountains. Check his channel out . Thanks for sharing.
I think that that guy was going to grab the girl. But he didn't have a chance with her dad carrying his sidearm. I don't go anywhere without my .45. towns are as bad as woods in that respect.
To me, the main reason why things didn’t escalate any further with this feral man is because Glen had his sidearm pistol on him and pretty much in his hand every time they encountered him. This is exactly why every person who goes camping especially wilderness camping, should always carry a loaded firearm. You just never know who or what you might encounter while being out in the remote wilderness. As always, this was a great video and I look forward to seeing the next one! Take care!
I live in Western NC along the Tennessee border, and stuff like this is relatively common, though actually seeing a feral person (or whatever it is) is not common. I just always carry a handgun and stay extra aware when I’m out fishing, hunting, hiking, etc. and share my location with my wife when I’m doing those things.
That was soo creepy. Seeing the boot on the trail would of sent me into a panick knowing that feral person knew they were going to pass. So thankful the dad had a firearm. Great storytelling!
That’s crazy! I’ve never seen ferral people where I hike (Santa Monica, Los Padres National Forest, Malibu Creek Park, etc); I just see some weird, kinda scary people walking around talking to themselves 😂.
Santa Monica/Topanga mountains are a great place to go for short day hikes, but once in a while you can find some weirdo walking around. Yesterday I was in Topanga Canyon and kinda felt unsafe to continue hiking. As a female who hikes alone I always carry a knife with me and I’m constantly aware of my surroundings. I’m debating if I should do the Backbone trail alone(It’s kinda long), not sure yet. Be safe and have a great day!
@@darkwilderness2392 I am a feral person and I’m highly offended by this. Why does nobody believe me?! I’m canceling Star link then you will all know..
I love your stories. I have committed on this before because I live in Gaitlanburg. I have hunted and fished and camped throughout the smoky mountains. I have personally never seen one of these feral people. Although I have heard stories about them. I want to tell everyone if you go camping or hiking in the smoky mountains 90 percent of the time you are going to be safe. Bring a firearm and bring a dog. I love your show.
Thank you Dark Wilderness for the feral person story. The whole wild people thing is so dang creepy, and I believe they exist. Love this channel and your gift of telling the stories.
Thanks DW. That could have ended really bad. Glad to hear they're alright. Always carry. Better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it.
@@stevensharer359 I carry always. I used to be a carpenter and I wore a tool belt. Hammer right there. But I didn't get the hammer out unless I had to drive a nail, ECT. Same with a gun, it's a tool. And if I don't need to use it ?, well it stays in the holster! I don't want to be shot to death because I couldn't shoot back!
Very good DW. Truly, i believe the feralman would of snuffed out glen and Victoria; had it not been for glens grim determination. I think the boots, later, the returning of was due to fact that the ferral man respected their courage in defending themselves. Good one!
The multi day camping trips are just to dangerous for me, i do go on full day hiking trips in the San Gabriel Mountains in Ca. A full day hike from 8am to 5pm fine.
I love back country camping myself. I know your in FB group, I’ll take a short video tonight of the “compound” (trailer and barn area) where I go hunting and post it. This place is sketchy as hell lol. I’m up in my stand right now. Only seen 1 small buck so far… but that’s how it goes
This feral man wanted the daughter and was waiting for a moment where the daughter was alone or the Dad was so exhausted that he would be able to take the daughter. Seems the man wasn’t too bothered by the firearm either. Very confident. I’m surprised that the Dad didn’t hear the feral man taking the boots if he was awake that night. It goes to show that the man moves much faster and way more stealthily than a regular man. He is a wild hunter. Glad they made it out of there. Great story teller.
Thank goodness they arrived home safely....maybe the boots were too small for the feral man...he probably thought they were Glen's boots when he crept up super quiet to steal them I'm thinking....😊...great story narration, thanks for upload.
Thank you so much, glad you enjoyed it. Ive heard lots of stories of them taking things and following people, but never returning things they have taken.
I think they are like us. We all act different, why wouldnt they. Unless they are in a military kind of family, where you follow orders. Like our military.
Love the story telling DW !Very eery. Seems the outcome very well may have been different without the side arm. Perhaps the man was just being mischevious? If he was able to snatch the daughters shoes from under her fathers nose, could he not of ambushed them ?
The outdoors aren't for everyone. If you have no training , no experience and no common sense do yourself a favor and stay home . Hiking a mountain wilderness trail isn't like walking to your corner Starbucks , stay home.

While on a trip up the parkway I was warned several times to avoid Southeast West Virginia on my way home because there are a group of people in that area that don’t take kindly to outsiders. Since that is the most beautiful part of the state I ignored there warnings. I was in an area that was a ways from what seemed to be any sort of civilization. I was riding along a running creek on my left and the trees were growing over the road creating a canopy,it was dark and kind of spooky anyway. I was riding quite slow allowing for conditions. Suddenly on my right I noticed a big man on a horse that must have been 16 hands tall. He was right on the edge of the asphalt so I rode by at a distance of approximately 8 or 10 feet. He was wearing old tattered clothes that appeared to be overalls and a dark colored shirt of some sort. He had on a pair old black boots and an old floppy old hat. His long black beard came down below his lower chest and was rather thick. He had the butt of what looked to be a shotgun on his left leg pointing in the air. He had this blank , absent of expression look on his face. I kept my right hand on the trottle and waived with my left hand on the way by. He never took his dark , expressionless stare off of me all the way by him. It happened so fast I didn’t have time to think about what I had just experienced untill I was already past. Then all I could think about was I hope this Harley does not decide to fail me now. A man in Virginia told me as I was sitting out a rainstorm over a cup of coffee. There are three different kind of people in these hills. Your average working man who punches the time clock everyday,Old retired hippies from up north who bought land in the mountains to retire and grow a little smoke and a group of people who stay to themselves and are not too fond of strangers. THERE ARE FEREL PEOPLE IN THOSE MOUNTAINS. I will never forget that experience. If you believe in spirits they are there. I feel more at home there than anywhere. RIDE SAFE!!!!!!!
Curious if anyone else has heard of these people acting this way. Let me know your thoughts, this one is bizarre to say the least.

I think the scary part is how this person was able to sneak into camp and steal her boots without Glenn hearing it.
