The Circle guitar looked a bit goofy at first during the preview, but seeing it explained, seemed like it'd actually be pretty fun to play around with.
I went to Namm a few yrs back with Dom Famularo. it was awesome and being with Dom I had vip full access to everything and I got to meet so many people and saw all the behind the scenes cool stuff!
I wish I could go to NAMM one day, but I learned a long time ago that I’m not even allowed to get a ticket for it. Basically, you have to be in the industry or have a friend in said industry. If you don’t, then you’re not even allowed to buy a ticket at the door. I wouldn’t be surprised if they called the cops on you and banned you from the show.
Like I’ve gotten a pass with some friends that make guitar pedals, another time with some people that do events and another with a music store… It’s like 60 bucks or something.., I’ve never had a problem getting in…
Electro-3D-printed plastic... Wonder how that will hold up after a couple of years. Definitely an interesting direction though. Thanks for the video Justin, keep 'm coming.
So disappointed I didn’t make it this year, I’ll see you at the next one Justin! I see Emma was there from UK I love her accent lol. Hampback had quite a layout this year, eh!
I was pleasantly surprised to see that Rick Allen uses a Yamaha silicone pad kit. I sold mine recently and bought the more sophisticated Roland TD-50 but I must say that I miss those silicone pads. I’ve never liked mesh, just my preference. There’s nothing wrong with mesh. I’m hoping that Yamaha get off their butts and get innovating to catch up, but still offer silicone pads.
Went to NAMM for over 30 years straight while it was still relevant, now it's a clusterfook of novelty items and faceless wannabes, couldn't pay me to go there again
8:56 that bass drum head thing adds lower frequencies I take it? Thinking about the vibrational shake of it and if it was a trick to the ears (in the studio on monitors) i swear the kick drum had like a lower thump to it before he removed it? I always thought deeper fatter kick/tom tones sounded better. Mixes got too clean over the last decade and machine like and that would be flawless for a drummer not focused on blast beats. I mean, i just do digtal now so I get more than I need on that end through AD2 and tweaking every thing top to bottom (i even uglify the room mic a little to really get that 'recorded in a real room' sound. Hoping to do the real deal one day when money is right)
@@65Drums thinking about the subwoofer design and how it works to push the bass is what gave me the idea, because the edge looked like it was putting part of a speaker cone on the drum head, so that vibration I saw happening, i was thinking "that's... vibrating back through the wood!" I always push around 40hz on the kick drum channel and then cut back out to get that more thicker bottom end vs the slappy stuff. After hearing Animal Kingdom albums drums by Soundgarden I was like "why don't more use this mixing style it's so full and dynamic this way". Us bedroom musicians that don't rely on the a.i. got to be losing it these days with all the cool stuff, digitally and physically

Muse probably would use that.

It’s easy to get… you can ask one of the dealers … I’ve been a few times… representing a “brand”

Loads of drum companies I've never heard of. I cant help thinking they're queuing up to be the next Crush
9:22 The most hammered kit I’ve ever seen.
Extra-hammered cymbals, extra-hammered shells
10:28 ZackGrooves sighting!

Not well. I'm a mechanic who longs for the good ole days of metal. All of the plastics on cars only last about 4-6 years. In the engine bay that is.
YOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO zackgrooves
Thx for doing that. I think the cat with the day glow green sticks was the best drummer 😊
Great meeting you man. Awesome video as always!
Great meeting you too Dylan!
I imagine its like 50 guitar centers at once with all the noise lol
That’s exactly what it’s like
3:27 your scientists were so preoccupied with weather they could they didn’t stop to think if they should…
You captured a lot of well known youtube musicians!!!!!!
banana synthesizer ??????????? um ok
"kind of like a weed whacker" - that's awesome, Justin! Sorry I didn't bump into at the show.
Dope as always!!
So disappointed I didn’t make it this year, I’ll see you at the next one Justin!

Did Yamaha make some new electronic cymbals? It's only been 18 years.
2:20 it’s @DoctorMix!
Sorry I missed you this year!
There’s a ton of people, hard to spot everyone! See you at the next one :)
Running into Zack Grooves is hilarious
Thanks, Justin.
Art Garfunkel still looking well …bet he’s wishing for the sound of silence after being there all day selling amps 😂
Love the tour!! I wanna know about the carnage from the ghostbuster fog gun guy😂
yeah he hit some people with the smoke. I cut that part out, not trying to get bro in trouble lol
Lets gooo! Thank you!
Trakian is actually really good, I have a whole set of them on my kit

yo some of the dj gear could really spruce up someone's video production haha i think my favorite thing was actually the circle guitar

It 100% makes the kick drum resonate more, it’s like magic, you wouldn’t think it would have such a strong effect. Invented by the Kick port guy
