      Hahah! The right tools just make the job easier. You can usually get away with using very minimal tools

    • @luke2049
      @luke2049 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      When I built mine I have like a pack of wierd size spacers for the fork cutting and use a size that's just a tad smaller than what ur gonna use and enough room for the saw blade and ur good and good it down with stem clamp. Bottum bracket tool like 5$ and a cheap multi tool for the chain. And depends on the headset my fixed gear frame is aluminum carbon fork so the headset bearing just seat in like at a angle and held then with the compression from the top stem clamp and I like the ones that expand outwards in the forktube with an Allen key then you screw on the top when using carbon forks.

    built up a metallic lilac steamroller for a friend just the other day. there was a lot more hammer involved, and i used a threaded rod and some washers and bolts as a headset press. came out pretty clean though, and i love that it fits 40mm tires. my '06 steamroller was my first fixed gear bike, and my first tracklocross build as well. being able to take a fixie off-road really teaches you a lot as a rider

    The gap between those wheels and the frame is minimal. You can catch a rock and scratch the painting or worse. To me, it's no worth the risk. I don't think that frame was made for wide tires. Still, that's a nice bike so, good job. Cheers!

    • @waveywheelies
      @waveywheelies  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks man, the frame is actually designed for wide tires (38c). This gap can be widened by pulling the wheel further back in the drop outs. It’s all to do with the size of your chainring, cog and chain length. The frame can actually fit wider tires (40/42c)

    Sweet build man. What is that chain whip tool you used for the cog and lockring?

    I want to upgrade my Azor with a new bottombracket/chainring. I ride >+8000km/5000miles per year on road.
    Any suggestions?

    Does anyone have any recommendations on where to get good quality frames like that one that aren’t really expensive. I want to build a single speed/fixie but don’t wanna spend crazy money on the frame.

      You can try getting them off facebook marketplace/eBay, bikesdirect.com also has some for good prices.

    Hi! Do you think a SR 53cm frame will better fit a 5'8" guy than a 49cm? Thank you so much your videos. Keep posting!!

      Hey! Hard to say as it can be very personal, I’ve got a 53 and 56 steamroller and I like how they both feel and I’m 5’10. I prefer the smaller one for learning tricks and messing around on

      @@waveywheelies thank you sir! I appreciate the reply! So hard to be in between sizes, but I might go for the 53 to somewhat get a higher stack height.. hmmm it's just that the reach of the SR is a bit long.. surlys fit a bit long / big. Hmmm thank you for your insight!

    May I ask how tall are you? Because I am 6.17 or 188cm and I can not decide between what size steamroller should I get, 56 or larger, but mostly I am thinking about a 56 what I can make larger with spacers and a longer stem.
    Thank you in advance for your answer

    Hey man, love this bike. I'm very keen to build something similar, is the rear hub a miche primato 122mm or 120mm? Cheers
