Awesome Bird. When you made the transition from inside to his avery outside did you attach something to his leg in case he flew off? is the ring on his leg permanent or removable? i have an outside avery for my macaw but scared to do transition from inside to outside as scared he will fly off.
How do I keep my macaw from running up to my shoulders then on my back ..sometimes getting on my head ..he hates getting off me but it's hard for me to even play with him or anything because he wants to be up on my shoulder..then today he was going for my ear 😑 he won't let me hold his foot so he stays in place either ..help!!! I want to be able to control my bird but I'm not having much success with it
Aww I’m saving up for one !!! I don’t know over there but I’m America they are very expensive. I’m just very afraid of not being able to teach him/her anything . Don’t know how to start the training
Why is she constantly head bobbing? My baby is 4 months old and I can't bring him home until 6 months old. I am trying to learn body language so am curious what the head bobbing is all about. Thanks.
Don't take what I say as gospel but this seems to be a common behavior with macaws, especially more-so with baby macaws. Sometimes it's a signal to their parents that they're hungry and want to fed, other times it's associated with other things such as general excitement, that they're strongly interested in something/someone, or that they're simply content. The slow head bob is definitely more associated with baby macaws from everything I've seen and researched, and adult macaws tend to do it far less, though some still do.
That's fantastic 🤗 when you get a solid recall, start clicking just as she takes off. It'll teach a quick response.
Thanks for the tip - that’s a great one!
@@ShelbyTheMacaw you're welcome 🤗. Oh, something I noticed, watch your timing with the clicker. Clicking late is worse than not clicking at all.
Fanimal Central ~ HD you’re right. I’ve just watched back and I do click very late. Thank you for drawing my attention to that! X
@@ShelbyTheMacaw you're welcome 🤗, I just want help the parrot community as much as I can.
Fanimal Central ~ HD Hey Fanimal is there a way we can connect about my bird? Thanks

Hey I loved your videos , what kind of treat do you give for the training ? Thanks
Small pieces of nuts. She gets no nuts in her main diet so all are given when trainin.
Over from Tik tok! Beautiful birb x
Thanks for coming
Hi, is it possible to train a 33 year B&G macaw?
Where did you get her cage? I would like to get a macaw but can't find a good cage
It depends where in the world you are, but we used a small business who build cages to order and to your individual specifications.
@@ShelbyTheMacaw Oo ok, thanks for the reply

Is this clicker for birds of for all animals? Are there any differences between clickers?
Good question! We got a standard clicker from Amazon, it has a dog's paw print on it, but they all make the same sound so it doesn't matter
Hey! Where did you buy her cage?

So what is the clicker thing and why is it used?
It’s to mark a behavior done correctly, they know they’ve got it right and will get rewarded
im getting a macaw next week what do you guys recommened i bring her home in
a pet carrier should be fine, one large enough for them to be able to turn around in comfortably
@@lolamihelic3732 thanks so much

I also think this bird is too young. They need to eat normal before getting sold.
These birds can get beheavoiral problems later in life.
She’s a Mommy’s girl 😁😁
How old was Shelby when you guys brought her home?
She was four months old
@@ShelbyTheMacaw in the video you said she was 3 months?? does than mean you were still weaning her? seems super young to be brought home
@@lolamihelic3732 we have experience in hand feeding baby birds and so opted to bring her home early
@@ShelbyTheMacaw oh thats so amazing! props to you, I know it can be difficult.
