Abu Sa’id al-Khudri (Ra) reported: The Prophet PBUH said: “Do not insult my companions. If one of you were to spend the likes of mount Uhud in gold, it would not reach a small portion of theirs or even half of that.”

Muawiya was a tyrant. When will you people understand? There is only one truth and that was the path of Ali after the Prophet PBUH passed. Never ever praise Muawiya, a man who was only power hungry, nothing else.

We all know that Ali is better than Muawiyah, but the matter was a FITNAH and even the Messenger PBUH had predicted that Al Hassan bin Ali would be a cause of reform between two great groups of Muslims:
The Messenger PBUH said: "This son of mine (Hassan) is a Sayyid (chief), & I hope Allah may reconcile two large parties of Muslims by means of him."
If Muawiyah was a tyrant, then the reason for that was Hassan bin Ali? who gave him the caliphate and even pledged allegiance to him! Can we say that Hassan was one a supporter of this (tyrant)?
You should not carry hatred against any Sahabi because Allah azza wajal has has been pleased with them in the Almighty saying:
Al Muhajireen + Al Ansaar + At-tabi'een:
(وَالسَّابِقُونَ الْأَوَّلُونَ مِنَ الْمُهَاجِرِينَ وَالْأَنْصَارِ وَالَّذِينَ اتَّبَعُوهُمْ بِإِحْسَانٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمْ وَرَضُوا عَنْهُ وَأَعَدَّ لَهُمْ جَنَّاتٍ تَجْرِي تَحْتَهَا الْأَنْهَارُ خَالِدِينَ فِيهَا أَبَدًا ذَلِكَ الْفَوْزُ الْعَظِيمُ)
"And the first forerunners [in the faith] among the Muhajireen and the Ansar and those who followed them with good conduct - Allah is pleased with them and they are pleased with Him, and He has prepared for them gardens beneath which rivers flow, wherein they will abide forever. That is the great attainment."
Allah azza wajal has shown us how to deal with the Companions in his saying:
(وَالَّذِينَ جَاؤُوا مِن بَعْدِهِمْ يَقُولُونَ رَبَّنَا اغْفِرْ لَنَا وَلِإِخْوَانِنَا الَّذِينَ سَبَقُونَا بِالإِيمَانِ وَلا تَجْعَلْ فِي قُلُوبِنَا غِلًّا لِّلَّذِينَ آمَنُوا رَبَّنَا إِنَّكَ رَؤُوفٌ رَّحِيمٌ
)
"And those who came after them say: "Our Lord! Forgive us, and our brethren who came before us into the Faith, and leave not, in our hearts, rancour (or sense of injury) against those who have believed. Our Lord! You are indeed full of kindness, Most Merciful."

Abdur Rahman bin Abi Bakr, Abdullah bin Umar, Abdullah bin Zubair and Husain bin Ali expressed great resentment for the selection of Yazid as Khalifah. They said "This selection has been made not for the welfare of the Muslims but for their annihilation because by this way the Islamic Caliphate will resemble the Roman and Persian Empires in which the son succeeds his father to the throne and this selection is against the spirit of Islam."
You should also mention that those people were the only ones to object to Yazid when Muawiyah ra visited Makkah and Madina. Everyone else in Arabia and the shaam region approved of Yazid and that is why Muawiyah ra did not feel like he has done something wrong.

Not only this but he appointed Yazid as a quick on the spot decision because he was afraid the political instability of the empire would get worse if a leader amongst Banu Umayyah wasn’t chosen (because Banu Umayyah was the dominant force in the Islamic empire at the time). Therefore he chose Yazid in hopes of stabilising the already unstable political climate.

@Hammertennisguy Muawiya is a confrimed Jannati bcz the Prophet said "Paradise is granted to the first batch of my followers who will undertake a naval expedition." and Muawiya not only partook in this expedition but he led it as it comes in the narration of Umm Haram. The Prophet also prayed for him to be saved from punishment. So, thats a proof Muawiya is in Jannah. Secondly, the Prophet said "A person will be with whom he loves" There are several things that show Muawiya loved the prophet, such as he always respected the belongings of the Prophet such as his blanket and he asked to be buried with some of the hair of the Prophet. Muawiya only respected and honored these belongings of the Prophet out of his love for the Prophet. If he hated the Prophet, he wouldnt show respect for the Prophets belongings. A narration that shows he loves the prophet is this one: AIsha narrated (ra): Hind bint 'Utba came and said, "O Allah's Messenger! (Before I embraced Islam) there was no family on the surface of the earth I wished to see in degradation more than I did your family, but today there is no family on the surface of the earth I wish to see honored more than I did yours." The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "I THOUGHT SIMILARLY, by Him in whose Hand my soul is!" When the Prophet said and I thought similarly, he clearly meant that wished honor for Hind and her family, which includes her son Muawiya. So not only did Muawiya love the Prophet, the Prophet love him and his family once they accepted Islam. Since the loved each other, they will be with each other in the Hereafter.

You don,t have to be a shia to hate the son of the liver eater Hind . Muawiyah was a bastard born to 4 fathers and a munafek. Wasimuddin Syed I’m a proud Sunni Muslim and I’m all for unity. I despise the Shia that curse Abu Bakr, Umar and Aisha RA etc and I consider it Shirk when they make Du’a to Ali RA and his descendants RA. Those Shia that do not do these things which I feel are most of them, I consider them my brothers. Just a side point, those extreme Sufis (tiny minority) that make Du’a to the Prophet Muhammad SAW and other Saints and give him divine God-like attributes are committing Shirk also. Now onto the real issue, Mu’awiya RA is a Sahabi so we just say RA and understand that he is forgiven. He was a King and was a great conquerer for Islam. However, I genuinely DESPISE Yazid and have no respect or admiration for what he did to Hussain RA and Zainab bint Ali. We cannot say what will happen on the Day of Judgement however, if I had to choose between Ali and Mu’awiya of course I choose Ali RA. There is no comparison. The Prophet Muhammad SAW’s companion like Harun AS was to Musa AS. The flag-bearer. The wielder of Zulfiqar. The husband of Fatima and father of Hassan and Hussain. If I had to choose between Hussain and Yazid, I of course choose the Ahlul-Bayt. Like I said, I’m a Sunni and have the upmost respect for all the Sahaba but we have to speak the truth. No doubt we love the Ahlul-Bayt more than a dynasty even though we respect the dynasty also. Allah knows best and may he unite this Ummah.
The Prophet (ﷺ) passed by `Ammar and removed the dust off his head and said, "May Allah be merciful to `Ammar. He will be killed by a rebellious aggressive group. `Ammar will invite them to (obey) Allah and they will invite him to the (Hell) fire."

Narrated `Ikrima bin Khalid: Ibn `Umar said, I went to Hafsa while water was dribbling from her twined braids. I said, 'The condition of the people is as you see, and no authority has been given to me.' Hafsa said, (to me), 'Go to them, and as they (i.e. the people) are waiting for you, and I am afraid your absence from them will produce division amongst them.' So Hafsa did not leave Ibn `Umar till we went to them. When the people differed. Muawiya addressed the people saying, 'If anybody wants to say anything in this matter of the Caliphate, he should show up and not conceal himself, for we are more rightful to be a Caliph than he and his father. On that, Habib bin Masalama said (to Ibn `Umar), Why don't you reply to him (i.e. Muawiya)? `Abdullah bin `Umar said, I untied my garment that was going round my back and legs while I was sitting and was about to say, 'He who fought against you and against your father for the sake of Islam, is more rightful to be a Caliph,' but I was afraid that my statement might produce differences amongst the people and cause bloodshed, and my statement might be interpreted not as I intended. (So I kept quiet) remembering what Allah has prepared in the Gardens of Paradise (for those who are patient and prefer the Hereafter to this worldly life). Habib said, You did what kept you safe and secure (i.e. you were wise in doing so).SAHIH BUKHARI HADITH NO. 4108
we should stay away from this dispute and should not curse one another as we are one ummah. Mistakes happened in the past but islam is complete so follow Allah and his rasool s.a.w and stay united ❤️❤️❤️

He (the Prophet) came and patted my shoulders and said: Go and call Mu'awiya. I returned and said: He is busy in taking food. He again asked me to go and call Mu'awiya to him. I went (and came back) and said that he was busy in taking food, whereupon he said: May Allah not fill his belly! Ibn Muthanna, said: I asked Umm Umayya what he meant by the word Hatani. He said: It means he patted my shoulders.

If what is said in the video is true, then do you not find it wrong that Muawiya RA did not find it important to consult those 5 individuals on why they don't want Yazid to be the Khalifah? Those 5 individuals were among the most noble companions. Also, what was not discussed in the video is that Hassan ibn Ali RA had made an agreement with Muawiya RA that after his Khilafah is over then Hassan will be Khalifah and then Hussain ibn Ali. Just because Hassan ibn Ali RA past away, the deal was broken...Nevertheless, we will never know what is 100% correct. All we know for sure is that he was a Sahaba, and Allah has blessed them all.

How do you mean, we can never judge between such great men? Imam 'Ali (peace be upon him) is the one about whom the Prophet (peace be upon him and his purified progeny) said that Allah and His Messenger love him.
Zirr reported, 'Ali observed: By Him Who split up the seed and created something living, the Apostle (may peace and blessings be upon him) gave me a promise that no one but a believer would love me, and none but a hypocrite would nurse grudge against me.
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ، وَأَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ عَنِ الأَعْمَشِ، ح وَحَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ يَحْيَى، - وَاللَّفْظُ لَهُ - أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ، عَنِ الأَعْمَشِ، عَنْ عَدِيِّ بْنِ ثَابِتٍ، عَنْ زِرٍّ، قَالَ قَالَ عَلِيٌّ وَالَّذِي فَلَقَ الْحَبَّةَ وَبَرَأَ النَّسَمَةَ إِنَّهُ لَعَهْدُ النَّبِيِّ الأُمِّيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم إِلَىَّ أَنْ لاَ يحبني إلا مؤمن ولا يبغضني إلا منافق .

It has been further narrated, and this narration is Sahih in Jami' at-Tirmidhi) that Mu'awiyah (who initiated the tradition of cursing Imam 'Ali, peace be upon him) said: ''Ya ibn Abi Waqqas, what has prevented you from insulting Abu Turab (i.e. 'Ali)?'' whereupon ibn Abi Waqqas said: 'Three things that I remember from the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) prevent me from reviling him. That I should have even one those things is more beloved to me than red camels. I heard the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) speaking to 'Ali, and he had left him behind in one of his battles. So 'Ali said to him: "O Messenger of Allah! You leave me behind with women and children?" So the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said to him: "Are you not pleased that you should be in the position with me that Harun was with Musa? Except that there is no Prophethood after me?" And on the Day of (the battle of) Khaibar, I heard him saying: "I shall give the banner to a man who loves Allah and His Messenger, and Allah and His Messenger love him." So we all waited for that, then he said: "Call 'Ali for me." He said: 'So he came to him, and he had been suffering from Ramad (an eye condition), so he (ﷺ) put spittle in his eye and gave the banner to him, then Allah granted him victory. And when this Ayah was revealed: 'Let us call our sons and your sons, our women and your women...' (3:61) the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) called 'Ali, Fatimah, Hasan, and Husain and said: "O Allah, these are my family."
Mu'awiyah further waged war against a man about whom the Prophet (pbuh) said: ''For whomever I am his Mawla, then 'Ali is his Mawla!''. Source: Jami' at-Tirmidhi, graded Saheeh by Darussalaam.
You don't have to be a Shi'a to use your brains and not fall for the propaganda by this channel in favour of Mu'awiyyah, the person who violated the treaty with Hasan by appointing the drunkard son Yazeed as the Caliph.
“And there are those of them who made a covenant with Allah: If He gives us out of His grace we will certainly give alms and we will certainly be of the good. But when He gave them out of His grace, they become niggardly of it and they turned back and they withdrew. So He made hypocrisy to follow as a consequence into their hearts till the day when they shall meet Him because they failed to perform towards Allah what they had promised Him and because they told lies.” (Surah at-Tawba 9:75-77)

I am not a shia and come to think of it I am not a sunni or a wahabi and just a Muslim. I also believe actions are judged by intentions. Any human who has lived on earth is accountable in front of the The Most High even the sahaba. I also believe Allah is the best judge but when we make dua at the end of the prayers we say please forgive our sins intentional and unintentional. Some actions we think as not being sins but they are does not make them unanswerable. Though we humans should not fight each other for actions of others we can and should hold an opinion for it is our right and a sign of a healthy mind. I believe and I cannot express this enough that this is only my own opinion which I have a right to make that an action by this sahaba eventually caused severe consequences to the family of the Prophet and speaking as a descendant I have been deeply hurt. May Allah protect us all and may Allah reward us all in the hereafter. But I will never disrespect the sahaba to the extent to curse anyone to hell for hell is the worst place and this man was a sahaba. May Allah protect him from it as well as the family of the Prophet like the Prophet of himself is of the greatest character ever seen by the world and I have no doubt they have already forgiven him. ☺️

What prevents you from abusing Abu Turab (Hadrat 'Ali), whereupon be said: It is because of three things which I remember Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) having said about him that I would not abuse him and even if I find one of those three things for me, it would be more dear to me than the red camels. I heard Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) say about 'Ali as he left him behind in one of his campaigns (that was Tabuk). 'Ali said to him: Allah's Messenger, you leave me behind along with women and children. Thereupon Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said to him: Aren't you satisfied with being unto me what Aaron was unto Moses but with this exception that there is no prophethood after me. And I (also) heard him say on the Day of Khaibar: I would certainly give this standard to a person who loves Allah and his Messenger, and Allah and his Messenger love him too. He (the narrator) said: We had been anxiously waiting for it, when he (the Holy Prophet) said: Call 'Ali. He was called and his eyes were inflamed. He applied saliva to his eyes and handed over the standard to him, and Allah gave him victory. (The third occasion is this) when the (following) verse was revealed: "Let us summon our children and your children." Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) called 'Ali, Fatima, Hasan and Husain and said: O Allah, they are my family.

[9:100] And of those who led the way - the first of the Emigrants (Muhajirun) and the Helpers (Ansar), and those who followed them in the best possible manner - Allah is well-pleased with them and they are well-pleased with Allah. He has prepared for them Gardens beneath which rivers flow; therein they will abide forever. That is the supreme triumph.
وَمِمَّنۡ حَوۡلَـكُمۡ مِّنَ الۡاَعۡرَابِ مُنٰفِقُوۡنَ ۛؕ وَمِنۡ اَهۡلِ الۡمَدِيۡنَةِ ۛمَرَدُوۡا عَلَى النِّفَاقِلَا تَعۡلَمُهُمۡ ؕ نَحۡنُ نَـعۡلَمُهُمۡ ؕ سَنُعَذِّبُهُمۡ مَّرَّتَيۡنِ ثُمَّ يُرَدُّوۡنَ اِلٰى عَذَابٍ عَظِيۡمٍ ۚ
[9:101] As for the bedouin Arabs around you, some are hypocrites; and so are some of the people of Madinah who have become inured to hypocrisy. You do not know them, but We know them.97 We will inflict double chastisement on them,98 and then they shall be returned to an awesome suffering.
97. They had become so expert in the art of hiding their hypocrisy that even the Prophet (peace be upon him) could not recognize them, though he possessed immense sagacity and insight into human nature; so Allah informed him about them.
98. This double chastisement will be the loss of their worldly advantages and the victory of the Islamic mission in the teeth of their opposition. Thus one chastisement shall be the loss of their worldly benefits for which they practiced deceptions and adopted hypocritical attitudes, and instead of gaining wealth, honor and prestige they shall meet with disgrace and utter failure. The second chastisement will be in the shape of the victory of the Islamic mission to defeat which they exerted their utmost by their machinations and plots. But the Islamic mission will come out successful in the teeth of their evil wishes, desires, intentions and vicious efforts and they themselves shall witness its victory to their utter despair, regret, grief and sorrow.
وَاٰخَرُوۡنَ اعۡتَرَفُوۡا بِذُنُوۡبِهِمۡ خَلَطُوۡا عَمَلًا صَالِحًـا وَّاٰخَرَ سَيِّئًا ؕ عَسَى اللّٰهُ اَنۡ يَّتُوۡبَ عَلَيۡهِمۡ ؕ اِنَّ اللّٰهَ غَفُوۡرٌ رَّحِيۡمٌ
[9:102] There are others who have confessed their faults. They intermixed their good deeds with evil. It is likely that Allah will turn to them in mercy, for Allah is All- Forgiving, Ever Merciful

Ibn Abbas reported: I was playing with children that Allah's Messenger ( صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ) happened to pass by (us). I hid myself behind the door. He (the Prophet) came and patted my shoulders and said: Go and call Mu'awiya. I returned and said: He is busy in taking food. He again asked me to go and call Mu'awiya to him. I went (and came back) and said that he was busy in taking food, whereupon he said: May Allah not fill his belly! Ibn Muthanna, said: I asked Umm Umayya what he meant by the word Hatani. He said: It means he patted my shoulders.

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ سَلَمَةَ بْنِ كُهَيْلٍ، قَال: سَمِعْتُ أَبَا الطُّفَيْلِ يُحَدِّثُ، عَنْ أَبِي سَرِيحَةَ أَوْ زَيْدِ بْنِ أَرْقَمَ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: مَنْ كُنْتُ مَوْلَاهُ فَعَلِيٌّ مَوْلَاهُ . قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى: هَذَا حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ غَرِيبٌ، وَقَدْ رَوَى شُعْبَةُ هَذَا الْحَدِيثَ، عَنْ مَيْمُونٍ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ أَرْقَمَ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ نَحْوَهُ وَأَبُو سَرِيحَةَ هُوَ حُذَيْفَةُ بْنُ أَسِيدٍ الْغِفَارِيُّ صَاحِبُ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ.

Narrated Abu Sarihah, or Zaid bin Arqam - Shu'bah had doubt:
from the Prophet (ﷺ): For whomever I am his Mawla then 'Ali is his Mawla.

Do you prevent us from reading the Qur'an?' asked b. `Abbas. `No,' Mu'awiya replied. `Do you prevent us from explaining it?' asked b. `Abbas. `Yes,' answered Mu'awiya. `Do we read it and do not ask about what Allah has meant in it?' asked b. `Abbas. `Yes,' replied Mu'awiya. `Which is incumbent on us, to read it or to act according to it?' asked b. `Abbas. `To act according to it,' answered Mu'awiya. `How do we act according to it while we do not know what Allah has meant in what He has sent down to us?' asked b. `Abbas. `About that, ask him who explains it other than what you and your household explain,' replied Mu'awiya. `Indeed the Qur'an was sent down to my household shall we ask the family of Abu Sufyan or the family of Abu Mi'yat about it?' asked b. `Abbas.
`Read the Qur'an and do not narrate what Allah has revealed and what the Apostle of Allah said concerning you,' answered Mu'awiya, `and narrate other than that.' Ibn `Abbas said: Allah, the Exalted, said: They desire to put out the light of Allah with their mouths, and Allah will not consent save to perfect His light, though the unbelievers are averse.' Mu'awiya said: `Bin `Abbas, that is enough! Hold back your tongue! If it is necessary for you to do that, then that should be secret. Do not make anyone hear it openly.'
Then Mu'awiya came back home. In all cities the tribulation became intense against 'Ali's Shi'a and his household. Kufa was liable to intense persecutions, for it had many Shi'a. He appointed Ziyad as a governor over it. He (Mu'awiya) gathered the Iraqis for him (Ziyad). He (Ziyad) followed the Shi'a. He was acquainted with their condition, for he was among them. So he killed them everywhere. He whipped and frightened them, cut off their hands and legs, hanged them on the trunks of the date palms, knocked out their eyes, dismissed them, and made them homeless. Mu'awiya wrote to his judges and his governors in the cities to prevent them from accepting the witness of those Shi'a who narrated his ('Ali's) outstanding merits and spread his laudable deeds. He (i.e., Mu'awiya) wrote to his governors: Look for the Shi`a of `Uthman, who narrate his qualities and talk about his laudable deeds, so honor them.
Write to me the full name of the person who narrates about `Uthman. Then he sent them gifts and clothes. He gave the Arabs and the non- Arab supporters many country estates. So they became many and competed with each other for the houses and the country estates. For this reason they became rich. Then he (i.e., Mu'awiya) wrote to his governors: Indeed the traditions concerning `Uthman have become numerous. So when this letter of mine comes to you, then summon them (i.e., the Arabs and non-Arab supporters) to report traditions about Abu Bakr and `Umar. So every judge or emir read Mu'awiya's letter to the people.
"Then he (i.e., Mu'awiya) wrote a letter in which he collected all what was reported concerning Abu Bakr and `Uthman. Then he sent the letter to his governors and ordered them to read it on the pulpits, in every city, and at every mosque. Also he ordered them to send the letter to the teachers of the schools to teach it to their boys to narrate it and learn it as they learned the Qur'an. Moreover, they taught the letter to their daughters, their wives, and their servants. Then Mu'awiya wrote one copy (i.e., a letter) (to his governors):`When you prove that someone loves 'Ali and his household, then omit him from the register.' Then he wrote another letter: `Whomever you accuse and do not prove (his innocence), then kill him.' So they killed the Shi'a of 'Ali everywhere because of accusation, doubt, and suspicion to the extent that the man (of them) was beheaded because of a certain word. Mu'awiya made the situation very dangerous.
The followers of the Umayyads increased in number. They fabricated many traditions. So the people followed them and learned traditions from them only. The most dangerous of all people in that were the hypocrite readers (of the Qur'an) who affected sadness, piety, and asceticism while they told lies to find (an important position) with their rulers and to obtain, through that, money, country estates, and houses. Some people thought that their traditions were true, so they learned them, narrated them, and taught them (to the people). Also the religious persons who thought that falsehood was illegal learned (their traditions). They accepted the traditions and thought that they were true. If they had known that the traditions were false, they would have not narrated them, nor would have they adopted them. When al-Hasan b. 'Ali, peace be on him, died, the discord and the tribulation became greater and more intense."
I (i.e., the author) say: Abu al-Hasan al-Mada'ini has narrated a full text similar to the above- mentioned one. Ibn Abu al-Hadid has reported the account on his authority in his book called (`Sharh Nahj al-Balagha, vol. 3, pp. 15- 16). He (i.e., Abu al-Hasan al-Mada'ini) has said at the end of the account: "The situation went on that manner till al-Hasan b. 'Ali, peace be on him, died. So the tribulation and the discord increased so that everybody of this kind (i.e., of 'Ali's Shi'a and his household) were afraid of killing or homelessness in the earth."
The comparison between the conditions of the two sides (i.e., al Hasan and Mu'awiya) accepts this method of the events, and the historical coordination in the succession of the events confirms it. The things the other historians omitted do not harm this method, for they, and we forgive them, wrote for the standing policy or at least for what did not harm it.
We have already mentioned that al-Tabari and al-Mas'udi have briefly referred to that. According to this, the sources of this matter are: Sulaym b. Qays, al-Mada'ini, b. Abu al-Hadid, al-Tabari, and al Mas'udi.
I am not a Shia. The thing I dont like about him, was he ended the caliphate, turned it to a monarchy. Passing the power to the sons. Plus a lot of close companions of prophet Muhammad (SAW) were killed because of him.

Prophet Mohammed (pbuh) made a very special speech and gathered all of the people going past (Event of Ghadir Khumm). People were gathered and he waited till everyone was there so that nobody misses it. People had to wait for a long time and later on one of the things he said Imam ali was "Anyone who has me as his mawla, has Ali as his mawla" (the word mawla has like 20 meanings and sunnis acknowledged every meaning of the word EXCEPT the synonymous word "Leader"). After this event (Event of Ghadir Khumm) the last verse of the Quran, which is the third verse of Al-Ma'idah (the fifth chapter of the Quran), was then revealed: "This day I have perfected your Religion for you: Completed My favour upon you, and have chosen for you Islam as your Religion"
How can anyone deny this? I converted from Christianity to Sunni Islam and later on to Shia Islam. I believe why there are so many sunnis out there is because it's like all the religions; whatever your household is then you automatically stick to it. But when you really seek the truth you always end up doing a lot of research, and that Imam ali is the Imam is always there right infront of you if you do your research. I believe many sunnis are in Denial. Before I became Shia, I asked sheikhs this simple question and they made fun of that hadith etc. They saw it more as a threat and a war thing between then rather than against them. In Sunni mosques at first I thought shia's was evil since that's what they taught us in their speeches. When I was at shia mosques they never attacked the sunni people themselves, but they talked bad about the caliphes. I got angry at first but later on realised that they were not talking bad about them but rather as traitors who have made a bad reputation to islam. The more I learned about Umar, Abu Bakr, Uthman, Aisha etc the more I realised that they don't have the manners or behavior or thinking like the prophet Mohammed at all. Very many sunni hadiths are very controversial and are against the teachings of Islam. In shia from Imam sadiq there is a famous sahih hadith that says that whatever hadith is against what the Quran says is invalid. There are many hadiths in Al-Bukhari that actually makes prophet Mohammed look bad or even "stupid" (Astaghfarallah) and people still follow that book. How do you accept a book portrait your prophet like that?? There are hadiths how Aisha treated Prophet Mohammed when he was talking to the sister of his passed away wife Khadija. In a very disgusting way.
All you need to do is dig deep for the truth. For every 1000 people, 999 people will enter hellfire and only 1 human will enter the paradise. That's only 0,1% that will enter the paradise.

Wallahi I don't understand these comments, why say this person did this and this person did this? And fight over what they did or didn't do, how does that increase our imaan. It's best to say Allah knows best and leave the matter in Allahs hands. As muslims we must assume the best of everyone and give people the benefit of doubt. @@graphicunit yes even the Prophet (SAW) can say or follow the custom/tradition of people whether it be style of speech, clothes, food etc. For example, one time an old woman came to Prophet (SAW) and asked him to make dua for her for Jannah. Prophet (SAW) jokingly said old people do not go to Jannah. That doesn't mean the Prophet (SAW) lied infact it was a permissible joke which he later clarified (as in this case). Somethings have exception for normal people and Prophets as well.

You described many great things about Muawavya(R.A) and that he was a sahabi and we cannot judge him...And you quoted that an alim said that "who are you to choose between ali(RA) and muawvya it's none of your business, it's your lords who will decide" but I as a muslim want examples and inspiration from the Sahabas in these tough times, to never give up, and in that I choose Ali, everytime. And you only mentioned that he started the inheritance of the khilafa but why didn't you mention the lifestyle that Muavwya(RA) hence forth becoming the Khalifa and his clashes with Ali(RA). And he was a very tough ruler so no wonder people did not oppose him when he pitched his son to be the Khalifa cause everyone was afraid, and you also know it to be obvious may be you wont accept it. For me Abdullah ibn Umar and Hussain ibn Ali are enough to accept something which they though they were right, cause they were on the right path. Cause my prophet said that Hussain is from him and he is from hussain. That alone is enough for me to understand who to follow, even when the whole world is going against him. Quantity doesnt matter, those 5 who were against the bayaa of Yazid was enough and you know what those 5 people were right after all.

Allamah Ibn Abd Rabih in his esteemed book ‘Aqd al Fareed’ records the following incident:
ولما بلغ معاويةَ موتُ الحسن بن علي خر ساجداً لله ثم أرسل إلى ابن عباس وكان معه في الشام فعزاه وهو مُستبشر
“Upon receiving news of Hasan’s death, Mu’awiya became happy made a prostration of thanks. He then sent a message to Ibn Abbas and summoned him. When Ibn Abbas came, although Muawiyah advanced his condolence for Hasan but he was happy over the death”. Maqatil al Husayn: “Mu’awiya said: ‘News has reached me of the death of Hasan’, and he displayed signs of happiness”
We read in Tareekh Abul Fida:
ولما بلغ معاوية موت الحسن خر ساجداً.
“When Muawiyah came to know about the death of al-Hasan, he performed a prostration of thanks”. Ibn Khalakan records:
ولما كتب مروان إلى معاوية بشكاته كتب إليه أن أقبل المطي إلى بخبر الحسن ولما بلغه موته سمع تكبيرا من الحضر فكبر أهل الشام لذلك التكبير فقالت فاختة زوجة معاوية أقر الله عينك يا أمير المؤمنين ما الذي كبرت له ؟ قال مات الحسن
When Marwan wrote a complaint to Muawyia, he mentioned that he has been informed that Hassan had passed away. When Muawiya heard the news, he did Takbir and the people of Khadra area performed Takbir too and so did the people Shaam. Thus Fathkita, Muwayia’s wife said: ‘O commander of believers, may Allah please you, for what you did Takbir?’ He replied: ‘Hassan has died’.
Nuzul Al-Abrar: “Upon receiving news of Hasan’s death, Mu’awiya recited Takbeer in a loud voice as did the people of Syria. Fakhra bint Qulaya asked’Why are you reciting Takbeer so loudly? Mu’awiya said’Hasan has died’. Fakhra then said “You are reciting a Takbeer of joy at the death of the son of Fatima?”. To which Mu’awiya said “Not on account of joy, rather comfort and ease has reached my heart”.

As a Sunni, my personal opinion is we don’t curse Muawiyah but I don’t feel he should be praised or have (RA) written after his name. The person who broke the sunnah & appointed his son as Caliph, the person who fought against Ali (ra), the person who started the custom of cursing Ali (ra) from the pulpit every Friday which lasted about 60 years, etc. So, while he shouldn’t be cursed, he shouldn’t be overly praised either. His judgment is with Allah (swt).

The Prophet once saw Abu Sufyan riding a camel with his son MUAWIYAH and his son Yazid; one walking behind and one walking in-front of the camel. The Prophet (s.a.w) then said: "May God curse the rider, the one in front and the one in the back."

Sahabi: "A person who believed in the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh), met him and died as a Muslim." This is the definition about which Ibn Hajar said,"the truest knowledge that I was able to get".(9)
The ulama say Ali (ra) was on the truth. And that muawiyah (ra) did ijtihad but got it wrong. He strived for the truth but got it wrong. But it doesn't mean we talk bad about muawiyah (ra). Muawiyah (ra) is better than all of us. He has many virutes. But just the virtue of being a companion is enough to be better than every Muslim who's not a sahabi. Because the companions of the messenger of Allah (sallalahu alayhi wa sallam) are on another level compared to us. The prophet (sallalahu alayhi wa sallam) said that the best generation is mine and then the next and then the next. In another hadith the prophet (sallalahu alayhi wa sallam) said I enjoin you to follow my companions and then those who come after them and then those who come after them. These are 3 generations. These 3 generations are called the salaf. They are the best of the ummah and the most knowledgeable. We take our Deen from them. Going back to the sahaba, Allah praises the sahaba multiple times in the Quran. He praises the muhajirun and ansar.
'Abdur Rahman narrates that I prayed Fajr(prayer) with Syedna Ali ibn Abi Talib(ra),he read Qunoot Nazila in which he prayed:"O Allah! Deal yourself with Muawiyah and his shia (supporters) and Amr bin As and his shia (supporters) and Abu Salma and his shia (supporters)" '
'Yazid bin Assam(ra) narrates that when Ali bin Abi Talib(ra) was asked about the (consequence of the Hereafter of) the dead on the day of Siffin,he said: (l am hopeful from Allah that) our and his (Muawiyah's) dead general public) will be in Paradise and (on the Day of Judgement) the matter (eventually) will be between me and Muawiyah (before Allah for judgement)'

(10) Nurturing false traditionists like abu hurayra and provoking them to forge traditions against ahlulbayt (a.s)
(11) Including ziyad (the illegitimate son of a prostitute sumayyah) among the bani umayyah by declaring him to be his brother ( tareekh - abul fida, khilafat wa mulukiyyat - abul A’ala Mawdudi page 162/3),
(12) Unlawfully appointing yazid, his evil and immoral son, as his successor, Caliph of the muslims and vicegerent of the holy prophet(s.a.w.s)
(13) Instigating the battle of siffeen against commander of the faithful imam ali (a.s) thus shedding the blood of devout muslim and prophet’s companions like ammar bin Yasir, khuzaymah bin sabit etc therein
(14) A self styled monarch, a reveler worse than the caesers and chosroes ( as witnessed by umar bin khattab in isti’ab - ibne abdul birr Vol 1: page 253 and tareekha kamil - ibn aseer Vol 3: page 216 , Al Bidaya wan Nihaya - shahrestani Vol 8: page 125)
(15) disregrade for lawful or unlawful (Muhaziratul adibba’ - Raghib isfahani page 125)

He said: I swear by Allah, I saw all this in your house, O Muawiyah. Muawiyah said: I know that I cannot be saved from you, O Miqdam. Khalid said: Muawiyah then ordered to give him what he did not order to give to his two companions, and gave a stipend of two hundred (dirhams) to his son. Miqdam then divided it among his companions, and the man of Banu Asad did not give anything to anyone from the property he received. When Muawiyah was informed about it, he said: Al-Miqdam is a generous man; he has an open hand (for generosity). The man of Banu Asad withholds his things in a good manner.

Nobody is perfect, even the sahaba made mistakes. They were not infallible. Muawiyah RA did make mistakes such as going against the sunnah when appointing his son as the next Caliph. Switched sides when he realised the tides were turning, and still managed to create a dynasty. There's a constant repetition of the five names. Do these people really consider themselves to be learned? Of course it's not just the five who opposed it, history will only mention the prominent opposition. These five would clearly have thousands backing them. Going against or speaking against the wishes of the ruler is a very dangerous affair even until a hundred years ago here in the west and still is dangerous in many parts of the world today. The fact that there were prominent individuals in opposition speaks volumes to the narrative that Yazids khalifaship is unanimously accepted

Only Allah knows the good deeds of someone none but “Allah”. So it is not correct to put one generation upon another until or unless Allah says so. If Allah says that companions are on a high level because they are companions of Nabi(sm) then its ok. But if Allah does not say in the kalamullah (Quran) then you have to think and research more rather than blind beliefs upon the scholars. You can’t rely upon hadith that are in conflict with the Quran.

The companions being promised jannah is in Quran. And mentions the muhajirun and ansar multiple times in the Quran. And Allah put the muhajirun above the ansar. The companions are on another daraja (level) then the rest of us.
And the hadith is not in conflict with Quran. The hadith are the sayings, teachings, and actions of the prophet Muhammad (sallalahu alayhi wa sallam). This is wahiy (relevation). Hadith are relevation from Allah. How can it be in conflict with Quran. The Quran doesn't explain the Salah. The Quran doesn't say how much zakat to pay. The Quran doesn't tell us all the steps and procedures of hajj and umrah. All of this is explained by the prophet. There are at least 3 ayat possibly more that specially mentions the prophet (sallalahu alayhi wa sallam) explain or teaching the Quran. This is the hadith. And Allah says in Quran to the prophet Muhammad (sallalahu alayhi wa sallam) say oh Muhammad if they truly love Allah then follow me (Muhammad) and then Allah will love you too and forgive you your sins. Allah put a test in Quran to see if you truly love Allah. And Allah closed all the doors to him except this one. Which is to follow the prophet. How do we do this by following his sunnah which is the hadith. And there are more ayat mentioning following the prophet who enjoin them what is good and forbids them what is evil.

Several points i would like to make. Does any muslim think that a person who wages war on the holy prophet's (saw) family is a good and honest person? Do you honestly think that Nabi pak(saw) himself would be pleased with muawiya? Final point is a hadith from Nabi pak (saw)
Deeper than that. For example he didn't want to directly fight Ali he wanted the killers of his cousin. He believed and genuinely believed in a righteous way that he wanted the blood of uthman killers first. He saw that as a priority and Ali saw establishing the khalifa as a priority. Even the Sunni scholar's agree Ali's position was more right than his. However we dnt hate on Muawiya, end of the day he was a sahaba and Allah praises the sahabas and saying their destiny's is jannah. Including the muhajiroon Abu bakr etc. But we dnt hate on either we love them both
