i love when the loader is carrying the shell to reload and he is a third of the way done, but he just drops the shell and takes the gunner's position and tries to pick up the shell again
Ya know, when the gunner gets "knocked out" on open top vehicles, the loader has to carry his still standing body to the ammo crate first (for disposal later) before he can finish reloading.
Playing the T-44-122 makes you understand why the soviets made exactly one of these tanks for testing purposes, and immediately dumped it for the T-44-100
Yes, the gun was too big for the turret. Even the 100 was and they had to make a bigger turret. None of that matters in wt, go figure. Crew comfort is not modeled into the game

this shit happens constantly in normal matches, i honestly wish gaijin would implement engine detonations or buff fuel explosions or something because realistically a tank's rear ought to be the best place to shoot but it's often just a better idea to go around the side or aim for the turret due to logic not applying

I just look at the screen and questioned my whole existence and when I checked damage analysis it got me the proof that this was absolute bullshit.
122 has far better angled pen and can overpressure (so even cupola shots kill in 1 shot if they do arm). There are very few tanks u can pen with long 88 but cant with the 122, neither can pen the T32E1, neither can pen the T95, Conq is still a kill for both only in the lower plate etc. The 88 is usually on tanks with good optic magnification, and its a fast round so its ely ez to aim and it has a faster reload. Overall its a better gun but that doesnt mean the 122 is bad by any means
@@arcroyal1258who cares? You still easily one shot with both the 88mm on the tiger 1 and the long 88 on the tiger 2. The 122mm reloads slower, gets screwed by volumetric more because it's a bigger shell and pens less.
I actually love this tank it’s top of my statistics with 532 battles and 732 kills. It’s just a really fast way to move a 122 into the frontline. Now looking at it it’s nearly 5 hours of reloads just on the tanks I killed
I've been having the infinite bomb drop sounds for a while now! I think if a plane with a bomb gets killed is when it gets triggered. Glad to see I wasn't imagining sounds!
On that 122mm, 100% AGREED. Coming from Germany 88mm and 128mm to Soviet 85mm to 122mm is truly a experience, but because both of them actually penetrate worse in every matter, and not saying it that flat pen but every angle pen. Yes you one-shot with them alot, but I prefer miss 3 accurate 88mm shots than non-pen 5 for one to randomly do "funny gaijin moment"
One aircraft I'd love to see in the game is the Dornier Do 24. It could go in both the German & Swedish tech trees, was armed with one 20mm Hispano or an MG 151, two MG 15s (One in a nose turret, the other in a tail gun mount), and up to 1,200 kg of bombs under the wings.

I know he was bushed up a bit but when using the 122 with br-471b shell can just auto pen the hull of the panthers at most angles so that's a good way of avoiding the shell being ate by volumetric armor on the turret.
Well odd since you despise the 122 so much you should try the kv-122 honestly isn’t a bad tank I’ve had fun playing it so maybe you can find better luck with a different chassis. Another great video!
I go to the kv122 when I rage too much in top tier, it can perform well in a full up tier because it’s just a is2 turret on a kv hull and in a down tier you can lol pen anything anywhere especially the ufp’s of panthers.
It's a fantastic tank, it's fast and the gun ruins anything it pens. It's the first tank I got a twofer in (penned/killed one Swede tank, passed through and penned/detonated/killed another Swede tank). I ran the T-34-100 last night and my buddy rolled the T-44-122 and we both went 6 kills and 0 deaths in an uptier.
I've been using one of the ussr casemates with the 122mm cannon and I noticed the HE round can kill basically anything with a shot to the bottom of the turret, from pretty much any side. You can onshot panthers, tigers, jumbos etc with overpressure, without worrying about volumetric.
I just had a really good game in warthunder and almost dropped my first nuke. Game ended as I opened the bay door to drop on the battlefield. I’m at a loss for words

T-44-122 is without a doubt my favorite looking tank ever second to the American T34. First premium I really ever enjoyed playing have to play it like a glass cannon but man is it satisfying when it connects
This tank reminds me of that spongebob closeup where on the outside of the burger it looks perfect but with a bite taken out you can see the inside is grey mush.

The xm1 is the best abrams variant. No one gonna change my mind. And its for the simple fact that it got the best power to weight ratio and top speed out of all of them.
So even without looking i suspected that this was just a prototype tank and i was right ! Historicaly, this was only One tank, ever produced. A prototype that competed against T-44/85 and German Panther at trials. It failed, was rejected ( For all the reasons that are in this video ! ) and the 85mm was accepted. Thanks for the video. I know it was suffering ! But damn you still handled it amazingly!
idk about you but I absolutely love this thing, the 122 and high mobility platform is a combo I meld with pretty well. (albeit I have my bushes on mine here and there to break the silhouette
From what I've read this T-44-122 has an early production prototype hull. The T-44 prototype with the 85mm might make for a decent tech tree vehicle as a 6.0/6.3 gap filler between the T-34-85 and the regular T-44.

Back in the last summer, I needed a medium tank for my soviet 6.3 line up and after much hesitation between this one and the T-34-100, I went for the later after seeing you playing it and reading a few reviews of it. Now, watching you playing the T-44-122, I'm glad I selected the other. I wasn't that good on the T-34, but I would have had an abysmal performance on the T-44. I'm not the best shot, so that 30 sec reload would have killed me. And I wouldn't have enjoyed it either. At least, I enjoyed the T-34-100 and an overall very fun time playing it despite having a barely positive kill/death ratio on it. It's not mysterious why the soviet decided to drop the 122mm gun as a medium tank gun. It's just completely unpractical for such tanks. I had a decent experience with the 122mm on the IS-2 with a considerably shorter reload, but I just find that for what you get, the 100mm D-10 is just way better 9 times out of 10. The reload just reduces a lot its advantages at least until you to those tanks which have a much shorter reloads with it like the IS-6 or the very impressive SU-122-54.
which doesn't help much given that armor layout and reload. it should be played like an armored spg, but even then that's just wasting spawn points vs taking an actual spg.
I really love the 122. i loved it on the IS-2 when i first got it, and it made me a better player in the long run because i had to think about my positioning while reloading, and so i stopped running head first into multiple enemies just because i had a shell in the breach.
This is one of those times Gaijin should have taken the creative liberty to give it its actual expected production statistics. Especially the T-44 production armor. It makes 0 sense to add in a prototype vehicle without giving it the benefit of having its documented and known production figures.
So essentially, it's KV-85, IS-1, T-34, T34-85, where you think it has armor but in reality every single gun can kill you in your own tier frontally without aiming for weak spots, just "Oh FINALLY, IS-1, I can finally take more than 1 shot before dying" *gets shot in the turret cheek/cupola, gets his entire crew knocked out instantly* these 4 tanks summarised

I find that the German 128mm shells seem to be less affected by volumetric than the Soviet 122's. Granted the St. Emil, Maus and JagdTiger are an absolute menace.
I would agree with you about the 122mm if it wasn't able to overmatch basically anything's side armour if they angle, but because of soviet APCHE magic it's pretty ridiculous. No, I didn't spell it wrong, the soviet APHE with superior angled pen should be labelled as Armour Piercing Capped High Explosive, it's that cap that supposedly causes the hilarious normalisation that happens in game.
I Think they should add a log to the rear of IS-2's and KV1-122. Just put on the top rear of the engine compartment so they can't aim straight back. Because im pretty sure reverse IS-2 b.s is the reason it got moved up.
I have never enjoyed any vehicle that only gets to have fun once or twice per minute. Of course there is some fun to be had in like a KV-2 derp squad when the mood takes you but not in a tank like this.
Did you ever do a video on the M60 TTS at 9.0? It's slow, has not that great of a shell lineup, gets ERA that's pretty useless and it gets outclassed by *so* much stuff at or above it's BR Sounds just up your alley :)

But for a challenge that I REALLY want to see, I want to see OddBawz complete the challenge of getting EITHER a sabot kill with every apfsds equipped tank in a single nation’s tech tree, using just the discarding sabot AND NOT the projectile itself OR Bawz get 5 sabot kills using only the discarding sabot of a round for ANY single apfsds equipped tank, no matter how many matches it takes to accomplish, it doesn’t need to all happen in a single match Call it giving the enemy the boot, since sabot is French for shoe, and a boot is a type of shoe!
There is absolutely no way that this is the first time you're hearing that glitch. It's been around for a few updates now, but it happens when a plane drops a bomb right before crashing into the same spot. I hear it almost every day I play, and the only way to get rid of it without dying is to move far enough away from the impact site.
@@frostedbutts4340 I'm pretty sure that the update before the Kings of Battle is when that glitch first started, but holy hell is it annoying. I don't know if it's BR specific since I've only played at 6.3 and below (mostly 3.0), but I do know that it's not nation specific as I've seen it happen with Corsairs, Stukas, and a couple of Russian and Italian planes.

4:30 YOU FOOL, the ELC transmission is made out of PURE Gaullium, it can take any round from the 75 of the Panther to the 128mm of the Maus.

I love the KV-122 one shots everything at that BR. Once you get use to the reload time, you can dominate games.

Back in the last summer, I needed a medium tank for my soviet 6.3 line up and after much hesitation between this one and the T-34-100, I went for the later after seeing you playing it and reading a few reviews of it. Now, watching you playing the T-44-122, I'm glad I selected the other. I wasn't that good on the T-34, but I would have had an abysmal performance on the T-44. I'm not the best shot, so that 30 sec reload would have killed me. And I wouldn't have enjoyed it either. At least, I enjoyed the T-34-100 and an overall very fun time playing it despite having a barely positive kill/death ratio on it. It's not mysterious why the soviet decided to drop the 122mm gun as a medium tank gun. It's just completely unpractical for such tanks.
I had a decent experience with the 122mm on the IS-2 with a considerably shorter reload, but I just find that for what you get, the 100mm D-10 is just way better 9 times out of 10. The reload just reduces a lot its advantages at least until you to those tanks which have a much shorter reloads with it like the IS-6 or the very impressive SU-122-54.
The turret rotation is amazing for a cannon like this tho.
which doesn't help much given that armor layout and reload. it should be played like an armored spg, but even then that's just wasting spawn points vs taking an actual spg.

I really love the 122. i loved it on the IS-2 when i first got it, and it made me a better player in the long run because i had to think about my positioning while reloading, and so i stopped running head first into multiple enemies just because i had a shell in the breach.

This is one of those times Gaijin should have taken the creative liberty to give it its actual expected production statistics. Especially the T-44 production armor. It makes 0 sense to add in a prototype vehicle without giving it the benefit of having its documented and known production figures.

So essentially, it's KV-85, IS-1, T-34, T34-85, where you think it has armor but in reality every single gun can kill you in your own tier frontally without aiming for weak spots, just "Oh FINALLY, IS-1, I can finally take more than 1 shot before dying" *gets shot in the turret cheek/cupola, gets his entire crew knocked out instantly* these 4 tanks summarised

I find that the German 128mm shells seem to be less affected by volumetric than the Soviet 122's. Granted the St. Emil, Maus and JagdTiger are an absolute menace.
Aw man I love the normal T-44 and the one with the 100mm cannon, but this thing, even without playing it seems terrible.
I would agree with you about the 122mm if it wasn't able to overmatch basically anything's side armour if they angle, but because of soviet APCHE magic it's pretty ridiculous.
No, I didn't spell it wrong, the soviet APHE with superior angled pen should be labelled as Armour Piercing Capped High Explosive, it's that cap that supposedly causes the hilarious normalisation that happens in game.
I Think they should add a log to the rear of IS-2's and KV1-122. Just put on the top rear of the engine compartment so they can't aim straight back. Because im pretty sure reverse IS-2 b.s is the reason it got moved up.

I have never enjoyed any vehicle that only gets to have fun once or twice per minute. Of course there is some fun to be had in like a KV-2 derp squad when the mood takes you but not in a tank like this.

In WoT the T44-122 is king, where decent mobility, high damage per shot, auto-pen and auto-bounce are the game's mechanics.

The best way to play this tank in my experience is with squad mates. They cover while you reload, which is going to be a lot of secs lol.
There is absolutely no way that this is the first time you're hearing that glitch. It's been around for a few updates now, but it happens when a plane drops a bomb right before crashing into the same spot. I hear it almost every day I play, and the only way to get rid of it without dying is to move far enough away from the impact site.
I dunno man, I've been playing for an absolutely embarrassing number of hours and never seen it.
@@frostedbutts4340 I'm pretty sure that the update before the Kings of Battle is when that glitch first started, but holy hell is it annoying. I don't know if it's BR specific since I've only played at 6.3 and below (mostly 3.0), but I do know that it's not nation specific as I've seen it happen with Corsairs, Stukas, and a couple of Russian and Italian planes.
They actually could move the turret a lil back, so that stupid driver bucket wouldn't appear, its wouldn't be such a problem
Gaijin needs to model velocity better bc these rounds shatter on a 5mm skirt that it could have penned even it it was tumbling sideways
