You guys are amazing also that’s Koo making memories with your daughter and giving game I been going on these videos numerous of times cause I keep forgetting 😂
Hello you two 🙂 I love your channel it has helped me a lot! I've probably looked at the playlist alot of time 😭 trial and error right? I love all the content because I'm a beginner to everything so I hope y'all keep releasing new content you guys rock!!
Hi. i have been trying to add a simple square border as a satin stitch and am following your guide, but when i convert to a satin stitch and run it in the simulator, the fill section that is supposed to be hidden gets stitched and that's it. do you know how to fix this?
Can you guys do a video on how to organize your designs stitch out by color to avoid unnecessary thread changes for a design that may only need 3-4 colors? For some reason I can’t seem to get it right. TIA!
Hi! We cover re-staking your objects to avoid jump stitches in this video: th-cam.com/video/XhdulUDXqQo/w-d-xo.html at 7:49. Hope this helps! Maybe in the future we’ll make a video dedicated to this topic.
DID YOU SET IT UP FOR THE SATIN STICH AT THE BOARDER BECAUSE IT LOOKS LIKE IT COMES WITH OUT YOU TELLING IT WHAT STICH TO USE AT THE BOARDER? MINE ALWAY COME AS A RUNNING STICH. I AM TOTALLY NEW TO THIS.
There have been some updates to Ink/stitch since this video posted so some things may be different. Ink/stitch used to default to a zig zag for a stroke, now it defaults to a running stitch. To do a true satin stitch you might want to check out these videos: th-cam.com/video/uFk_aE03wlk/w-d-xo.html and th-cam.com/video/3tzpgw_nMik/w-d-xo.html Thanks for watching!
Hi!! you both are an amazing duo!! Love your content. I have a ? when bringing in an svg design to convert to embroidery into ink stitch it reads it as a fill. Are you able to ad satin stitch border to the file too? Sorry if this ? doesn't make sense :(
If the .svg is editable then you should be able to duplicate your design and add it to a new layer, add a stroke and remove the fill stitch. To create a satin go to extensions>inkstitch>tools:satin>convert line to satin. Depending on your design you may want to edit it using some other features including commands or params. We have videos covering that as well. Here is our playlist of Ink/stitch videos if needed: th-cam.com/play/PLtQ8IvTMaEGI3NeU2MppOkukHviNKmrJl.html Thanks for watching!
Hey Mike and Megan, Good video ! So you can transform your Strok to Satin line with ikstitch/convert Line to satin, but you Stroke must be 1,00 mm (0,04 in) minimum.. I think i'ts more beautifull ... just an idea ... Best regards
We weren't aware that Inkscape and Ink/stitch worked with a tablet. What function are you trying to do? It may be worth getting a wireless keyboard that works with your tablet.
As far as I know, there isn’t an easy way to turn a fill into a satin stitch. We talk about how to make shapes stitch like satins in this video (th-cam.com/video/9WPSHcJ03gI/w-d-xo.html) at 14:53. Hope this helps!
I have an idea for a video, unless you can direct me to one you've made already, about creating line art. Is there a way to create just the outline, similar to what people use in making quilts? However, not necessarily for quilts but for embroidery designs.
You are right, we just used the stroke zig zag stitch as our satin line in this video. Here are videos where we discuss the satin feature: th-cam.com/video/uFk_aE03wlk/w-d-xo.htmlfeature=shared andth-cam.com/video/3tzpgw_nMik/w-d-xo.htmlfeature=shared
My question is, can you add a satin border to an already made file? (.pes). I have a cute scarecrow that I'd like to make into a patch. Thanks so much!
Thanks for watching! Unfortunately, you cannot add a satin border to a .pes because it is already in a coded format that your embroidery machine understands. In order to edit the design, you would need to have the .svg file.
Only disadvantage with the way you did the satin as you mentioned to make a satin that was not a satin ,you created a zigzag and that does not give a good finish in some of the corners converting the line to satin would give a cleaner finish and have more control for adjustments in the corners
You have saved me headaches and i thank you for that!
I'm so glad!
Very useful video. Thanks!

Hi, thanks for the comment! We will be covering this in a future video, as well as comparing stroke to satin stitch. Anyways, thanks for the tip 😊
I use a tablet without a keyboard, is there a way to add it without hitting a key on a keyboard?

Is there a way to set the stitching of shapes to a satin fill instead of a normal fill?

@@ProjectAnonymous_Duo definitely “fan-girled “ seeing your reply, your channel has been beyond helpful

We haven't done this yet, but we'll research it and see if we can eventually do a video on line art. Thanks for the idea!
i didnt see the part that you converted the border in to satin line? how come its already in satin stitch?

Thank you for the tip 😊 We’ll have to do a video in the future comparing the results of a zig zag (stroke) and a true satin. Thanks for watching!
