    For changing stitch directions on satin paths, I personally have found it extremely easy to just go into the Params and play with rails. It also will swap rails so as to avoid jump stitches (when doing things like fonts) so that I can make it start stitching at the point it finishes the previous rail.
    Excellent video, as always 👍

    Amazing vid! I'm sure you and other might have figured out already but in case you haven't... for satin stitches you can select the Node tool (N) and then select a node along your path on both sides and hit reverse under the path menu! If you don't have node direction on already, it should be a setting under the node menu!

    Wowe, that start/stop option for fill stitches is a game changer. Now I don’t need to create manual fills to get it to stitch top to bottom, etc. Thanks again for another super helpful video!

    Very helpful! I have been searching and searching for a description of controlling "stop" and "trim". Thanks!

    The stop and start commands help determine where stitches stop on an object so that you can path-out the best stitching direction for the minimum number of jumps and trims on multi-object designs. Once you get used to it you will use it all the time. Cheers!

    Thanks for the video!! I try to plan out my satin columns in advance when possible and then draw them in the direction I want them to go. They follow the path direction so they start and end at the beginning and end of the path that you draw and follow the path direction. I haven’t found a way to actually view that yet though.

    Hello Peeps. Thank you so much for the video and all the research you did to create it. I learned a lot, as usual with your tutorials. The biggest learning point for me: "will commands work on my machine?!" (insert many surprise emojis here). I don't know if they will. I do love learning all the possibilities that are offered, even if I can't use them. I really appreciate you showing them to me. Thank you. :)

      This can happen in you convert the command icons into a “path.” It can happen accidentally by highlighting everything in your work area and selecting Objects>objects to path

    Can't you just use path/reverse on the satin ladder stitch-out?

    Hi,. I was just watching your video and you said that certain commands don't work with your machine. I was wondering if you have updated it (your Brother) recently so it may work with those commands?

    Weird that the Brother machines will cut the thread at the end or with the stop command, but won't recognize the command to cut jump stitch. I had been making different objects in my designs a different color to force the machine to stop and do it's automatic cut, so the stop command is very helpful. One thing I've noticed, at least with the SE600 - when it does stop and cut the thread, if I pull the tail directly to the right side of the needle, the short section of thread is usually pulled to the backside of the workpiece so it's out of the way.

      Yes, we also find it weird that the Brother won’t apply the trim commands. Thanks for watching!

    OMG... Your videos have been sooooo helpful so far. I own a Brother PRS-100 and have been trying more and more complicated designs learning how to make them through your videos. However, when exporting them to a PES file, if there are more than two colors, my machine won't let me re-organize the thread order due to "overlaying objects" (which there are). Do you know if there is an command or an automatic way in which ink stitch could transform the overlaying objects into a number of different ones so that one thread color could be used at once and then have the thread switched to the next one? It would make my life soooo much easier! .. Thank you very much for all of your help

      So glad to hear that our videos have been helpful! To re-organize how each object stitches out and group up thread colors, you can use the re-stack objects tool. You can find this feature in Extensions-Ink/Stitch-Edit-Re-Stack objects in order of selection. We have a video coming out this Wednesday on exactly how to use that tool. Hope this helps!

    It’s easy to make a satin column to go the direction you want without the use of commands. It will go the direction you drew the path. If you want it to go the other direction then select the path and choose Object - Reverse Path.

    • @debbiefusco9963
      @debbiefusco9963 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Actual it is Path - Reverse, not object. Another handy trick, after you create the satin column from line is to choose path simplify to greatly reduce the nodes and make fine edits easier.

    Hi ! I have a problem on the logos that I make on Inkstitch because the embroiderer starts by embroidering the top, then the bottom, so there is a lag in the middle of the embroidery. So I tried to do what you explained in the video but the command I add to start embroidering at the top and finish at the bottom is not taken into account. How to do ?

    • @ProjectAnonymous_Duo
      @ProjectAnonymous_Duo  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi! Sorry to hear the commands aren’t working for you! We briefly talk about a way to fix your issue in our params video at 6:43 without using commands: th-cam.com/video/8HKrLML1mIY/w-d-xo.html It involves turning off “auto route” stitching, you can get the same effect of an underlay and fill stitch by doubling up that shape and turning the bottom layer 90 degrees. I hope this helps!
