PLEASE READ: I had a bad mysterious reaction to nickel in makeup that required steroids and then I found out that nickel is in certain foods, especially tea (which I drink a ton of like you do), and that metal tea kettles can leach allergenic metals into your water. I took a break from tea and switched to an all glass kettle and it made my reaction go away. Sorry for posting, it was just really hellish figuring it out.
Unlike many of the people sharing or trying to diagnosis what’s wrong with Cristine...THIS might actually be part of it. I just wish she had said WHICH metals she was allergic to. (Not only for this reason but for people who send her stuff in the mail as well.) I’m sensitive to certain metals but only in piercings. I’ve never had a reaction (so far) from any metal just laying on my skin like in necklaces/bracelets. But I know it could progress to that. I’m also very careful about the pots & pans we use as those can leech certain metals into your food as well. And when I changed them all out it DID make a positive difference in my GI issues. I’m glad you were able to figure out the cause of your issues!! I hope Cristine saw this or another post mentioning it. Because I don’t think it’s something many drs would think of!😕
Woah! I’m super allergic to nickel, I would have horrible rashes for the nickel in the buckle of my pants and any fashion jewelry or watches. I’m going to have to keep an eye out for makeup that has nickel in them now, thanks for the tip!
I have a friend who’s body releases tons and tons of histamine when she is stressed and it makes her break out in hives. So she’s literally allergic to stress...
I have this too! I didn’t know until university and around hand in times my neck, chest and arms would have horrible red splotches. Still happens now when I’m stressed with work. Reminds me to take a step back ... although it does elevate the stress more too
Me too! My allergy doctor called it idiopathic urticaria. I have to work on keeping my stress levels down (otherwise I look horrendous) which is really hard to do when you also suffer from anxiety...
I wish that Ben had a channel called ‘Simply MaleLogical’ ... Also, I hope you feel better very soon and your swollen face issues go away permanently! ❤️
I'm allergic to adhesive also, so doing the patch tests...I would need an alternative to tape. However, I am thinking this is going to conclude as an auto-immune issue.
True. Also Pepto turns stool an alarmingly dark color. I had both pepto and iron reactions happen and was freaking out till I read about the side effects lol
Caylin Williams I never had an allergic reaction to cats but when I got one, after a month a started swelling up... Went to the doctor and she told me that I became allergic to cats.
I had a bad allergic reaction to my friend's super sweet cat once and my eyes swelled shut and I was so embarrassed. I think it is good you're able to show people hey, this is happening. Sometimes people have to go to the doctor a million times and they still aren't sure. Wishing you all the best.
My mom has exactly same symptoms and she ended up finding out she's allergic to shellfish. Which not only include shellfish like clams or oysters but also everything under crustaceans category. And we found out some of red (food) dyes are made out of cochineal insects! Which is, of course, under crustaceans category. This kind of red dye is included in many products such as red or pink ice creams, candies, sodas, and even in the red teas! I know you drink lot of red colored tea. So, pls pls pls check if you are allergic to shellfish. Hope you find out what's you're allergic to
ISAC blood tests were what got me diagnosed with a deadly shellfish allergy. It also narrowed down my seasonal allergies to specific grass and tree species. I'm now starting allergen specific immunotherapy. ISAC is probably even better than RAST at determining allergies.
I am allergic to my water. Steroids help but I don't take them. The dermatologist couldn't figure this out. I had to talk to some water treatment people in USA (I'm in Canada and the water people here know nothing) they have seen my issue many times and they are helping me fix my water system. Unfortunately the things I need (that are actually making a difference) aren't sold in Canada. Like the peroxide injector. You might have metals in your water that are causing this issue. Especially since you just moved. The water might be on a different system or idk if you have well water? See if your dermatologist can look at your water for metals from different taps in your house and the hot water tank.
I hope Cristine sees your comment! Good point! She did say allergy tests were positive for certain ingredients or metals in makeup? So maybe water has those elements too? Cristine could try TATI WATER for face!

"You can be beautiful without makeup" such a simple phrase but so often we get the opposite message from society. Thank you for posting this. I have a sensitivity to eye makeup where I can't even wear "hypoallergenic" or all-natural makeup because it makes my eyes immediately red, burning and watery. I've had people tell me that I would look better with makeup but then I wear it and just look a mess and am in pain. I feel your frustration and I hope you get it figured out soon!
Make-up is for special occasions so you can bedazzle everyone. And if you don't wear make-up? Well, your personality will do the same! ✨✨ Be yourself! Are you allergic to beets and lip balm? If not then you might use beet juice (if the make-up urge is too big) and lipbalm (I know a recepy that might be good for you to use 😉). I never wear make-up, what they see is what they get. 😝 And if they say that someone can't look beautiful without make-up... Well, that says more about them than you! Have a nice day and I wanna bet you look amazing without make-up (in a non-creepy way)! 😁👍
Nobody should ever tell you that. Our faces and the way they are structured are natural. You should never be pressured to make your face look different, especially if it's painful. Yes, you can be beautiful without makeup.
I'm the only female in my family that doesn't wear a full face of makeup. All of my sisters have their own set of makeup (we won't talk about my mom because she's obsessed) but all I ever put on is just a bit of mascara and concealer if I need it. I don't even remember what I look like with a full face of makeup because I'm so used to my natural face. I've gotten to the point where I can look at my face and say "wow, I'm actually really pretty" (not in a conceited way, but you get the picture.) As long as you're happy, go ahead and slap on that makeup or bask in your natural beauty.
Am I homophobic if I hate myself? it’s not conceited to think that you’re pretty! you deserve to have that self confidence!! theres this expectation that women (or those with more feminine characteristics) have to be meek and mild and not know that theyre pretty until theyre told that they are by a man, instead of being confident in themselves. if you’re confident in your looks- own it! you deserve to ❤️
As someone who deals with a chronic pain, I understand how frustrating it can be trying to get answers and having to wait for them. I’m sure someone’s already told you this but it’s also OK if it all makes you a little bit sad or gets you down. It’s super normal. I don’t think a lot of people realize the mental toll physical problems can have. I’m hoping that they find answers soon! Take all the time that you need! we love you!
The mental toll can sometimes be worse than the actual illness. I know what it’s like to live with chronic pain and autoimmune diseases and I wouldn’t wish it on anyone. Good luck to you!!
Agreed! It took three years for my doctors to diagnose me with endometriosis. It just pissed me off how they minimized my pain, it really took a toll on my mental health. But I’m doing much better now!

3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;

You want government ran healthcare, please go back to Canada. Otherwise the people who get the help they need now, IE me, will have shitty healthcare
Those were my exact thoughts, I'm especially thankful that she lives in Canada after she mentioned all the testing she had thus far and that it'll be a long process with more tests and consultations.

@@cynnnz It's not necessarily a problem unless you're highly sensitized to nickel, luckily. Glad to help!
Unlike many of the people sharing or trying to diagnosis what’s wrong with Cristine...THIS might actually be part of it.
I just wish she had said WHICH metals she was allergic to. (Not only for this reason but for people who send her stuff in the mail as well.)
I’m sensitive to certain metals but only in piercings.

Hope you find out what's you're allergic to
I first read "allergic to bullshit" and thought, oh man that's a mood XD
This is a good suggestion! Especially as Cochineal is also referred to as Carmine which is also used in cosmetics and makeup for pigment 👀
Damn, being allergic to carmine sounds super difficult to avoid! This is a great suggestion though.
ISAC blood tests were what got me diagnosed with a deadly shellfish allergy. It also narrowed down my seasonal allergies to specific grass and tree species. I'm now starting allergen specific immunotherapy. ISAC is probably even better than RAST at determining allergies.
thats such a good one! hopefully she sees it!

This is a really good suggestion too!

Am I homophobic if I hate myself? it’s not conceited to think that you’re pretty! you deserve to have that self confidence!! theres this expectation that women (or those with more feminine characteristics) have to be meek and mild and not know that theyre pretty until theyre told that they are by a man, instead of being confident in themselves. if you’re confident in your looks- own it! you deserve to ❤️
The intro is so iconic that nobody has even *thought* of changing it
"what is wrong with my face?"

Nuhamin G hahahahahahahaha good one.
THIS YEAR SSSUUUCCCCKKKKSSSS!
Sending you hugs!!!
I have chronic pain too and have been on strong meds for years and it sucks ass! Especially when doctors don't want to listen. Luckily it sounds like Cristine has some good doctors that care.

literally everything in 2020 has SUCKED so far.. my eyes also got like this, i started getting pollen allergies and a eczema outburst started in all of my body (last time was ten years ago), me and all of the world lost our jobs due to a fucking pandemic, my best friend's dad got cancer (he's a doctor btw, so karma apparently hit the wrong person), my boyfriends dad almost became blind, my cat died yesterday.. all in these past six months
