LeSueur peas were the ONLY ones my parents would buy and my daddy, God rest his soul, loved to make us pan seared steaks with LeSueur peas. AND…I don’t think I ate one meal growing up without sliced tomatoes and pepper sauce on the table. C’est bon!!!
My mom made this with cubed potato instead of macaroni and she also added corn. She made it in a big iron skillet and poured cornbread batter over it before she baked it. It was so good! I haven’t thought of this in years and thanks to you I will make it soon. I love your videos! Thanks so much for taking the time to share your love of cooking!❤
Oh my goodness! How simple and sweet. I made this often as a young new bride back in the 1970’s and my husband devoured it! Your manner and essence are so beautiful and takes me back to another time when the our world was not quite in such a hurry and we took the time to to smile at one another. We’re still that people and you’re proof of it. God bless you. 🤗

I made this yesterday from your recipe . I left out the chili powder, my family wasn't in the mood for a chili taste. I added and mixed grated sharp cheese, mixed and baked. My version of Hamburger Helper, with the heat wave , we will eat this for a few days. Delicious. God Bless you MeMe and your family. Blessings for your son .
Your recipes remind me of growing up and learning how to cook💕 it was family recipes measured like this, add a container of… a box of pasta…think something will taste good or stretch it a bit if company was coming add that too 😀season to taste. It wasn’t until I started baking that exact measurements became more important. You remind me that cooking has always been for the joy of it, nourishment, love for your family and to always give thanks in lean times and bountiful times❤️

Do you salt and pepper the hamburger when you are cooking it? I think I would add all the spices to the hamburger and then again afterwards. But looks delicious. We have all the ingredients, I might be making this tonight! We had something similar as kids my mother would make, it was called Italian Supper Casserole. Instead of cheese, she would be cream cheese dollops on top and bake it. All 5 of us kids would fight over those cream cheese dollops everytime!
I use 1/2 a pound of beef. We have to stretch our budget. I always add less than the recipe says. Meat is so expensive. The other half is added to Riceroni the next day.

Why must pasta always be so difficult? Is that 1/2lb of dry elbows or 1/2lb cooked? How many dry elbows does it take to make 1/2lb of cooked elbows? I can’t put it back if I cook too much. There are no charts or calculators online. I’m a good cook! I cook a lot! Pasta always does me dirty like this. 😖
Not to be negative, but am I the only one that gets really bugged out when stuff is left in a bowl and not put into the dish. There were noodles and hamburger still left in that bowl, and I can't help but wonder why anyone just leaves that stuff in there. It's just not how I cook, so I guess that's just my issue. Haha. Looks delicious though.

I used 1 can of Rotel and 1 of fire roasted diced tomatoes………make you slap yo mama😊
