    This is a pocketable emulation station. We have WiFi and Bluetooth as well as HDMI!, you can easily connect 4 Bluetooth controllers and play any game, even on 16:9. I don't understand why not one of the big retro emulation TH-camrs have gone through this angle. You can have retroachievements, you can play any 16:9 game from the PSP or dreamcast with buddies.
    The unique value proposition of this... instead of buying retropi setups, just buy this and you have a console that has EVERYTHING you need. No need for a case, as it's clamshell. It's small enough to be pocketable, bit enough once opened. Has close-lid suspend mode! This is a DREAM.

    • @MazeGilliam
      @MazeGilliam 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      So far, the best DS-like device for emulating is the Surface Duo. I had the first model, and it was good for ds, but not for 3ds. Some games worked, but most didn't.

    • @twgok13
      @twgok13 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Imo its best to use controller+phone in vertical mode to emulate that.
      Or just buy a 2ds xl or something used.
      So rg35xxsomething + 2ds xl + rog ally for everything newer (like ps2 or switch) would be a complete package.
      Not that i have that much time to play lol. I'll just stick to 35xxsp, at least it's cheap lol.

    Dropping a random piece of copper or aluminum in there is simply gonna spread out the heat underneath the battery and make it bulge more evenly. You need to move the heat away from the battery not distributed evenly underneath the battery.

    • @Augrills
      @Augrills 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Only issue I see with that is you’re going to have that heat laying more directly on battery and even less of an air gap. Even if it does disperse it better. I’d like to see tests on it with and without before I made that change myself.

      For a very vague value of "soon" and zero stock when they do as seen by the A30 still not having restocked beyond their first batch.

    • @ben66562
      @ben66562 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +10

      I feel like the "analog sticks" will have to sit pretty flush with the screen because of the clamshell design and not have much range of movement. That along with it being vertical and assuming that it keeps similar dimensions to the sp I just can't picture being very comfortable or practical to use and will just give it a more cluttered look overall.
      I think anbernic picked the smarter way to do it. It keeps the simplicity and nostalgia of the old SP. I won't be heartbroken if I can't use it to play "Ape Escape". I'll stick to what the form factor works best for. 8 and 16 bit systems, with a smattering of those higher end ones.

    Dual SD slot, HDMI out, software on/off button, nice, but mono speaker, no analogue and only one USB-C port
    It's a great looking device, really has an upgraded V90 feel to it BUT... I don't understand the deal with designing a device that can emulate PS1, N64, Dreamcast and PSP but NOT have analogue sticks, didn't we just get a clamshell device smaller than this WITH dual analogue sticks??
    Granted my black V90 could do around 100 PS1 games (though i use my OG RG350 for everything up to PS1 and with a 512GB card in it i can carry around a LOT of PS1 games) I use my V90 and 128GB card for everything up to SNES, TG-CD and Sega CD. Granted the V90 has issues with Star Fox, F-Zero and Yoshi's Island, I don't think the RG35XXSP will replace my V90.
    I'm waiting for a Linux device with all the buttons and Ports of the RG350P with the power of the Retro Pocket 4 pro. That will be my 3rd and final device as I've always wanted a portable device that can play the 6th gen of gaming consoles for nearly a quarter century even since I discovered emulation and devices like the GP32.

    Got my RG35XX SP yesterday and was super excited for it to replace my Miyoo Mini Plus, but there's been one glaring issue that ruins the entire device for me!
    The screen is SUPER smudgey looking! It could be the fault of the included screen protector that I installed before booting the device, but now I'm too scared to remove it for fear of damaging the screen or it not being the actual issue.
    I've used both the Stock OS and muOS and the blurriness is present in both despite disabling all Shaders and Overlays. I'm fairly certain it's a hardware issue at this point.
    Incrediblely disappointed since I actually really like how the RG35XX SP fits in my hand more than the Miyoo Mini Plus. I can play Crash Bandicoot 2 much more efficiently on this device than a vertical on.
    3D games certainly hide the almost textured screen much more, but SNES games like Earthbound with large single color zones on the screen make it incredibly noticable at all times.
    I'm probably gonna return this if AliExpress allows it. Anbernic has really lost my trust on this one; I'm going to wait for the Miyoo Mini Flip to get shown off. Hopefully it has a better chipset that will make more use out of the Analog sticks.
