    In my mind, that's the best way to do photography. Not the easiest way, but the best.

    Beautiful print, Andy! Thanks for putting this together. Yes, rushing isn't the most fun way to do things, but you got it done. Great work.

    Good thinking, you left your video camera at the tree set up for next time

    Thank you for this very interesting video. I do have a question that I am sure I am not the only one have it: What can cause small bubbles and how can we solve that problem. I am following exactly you method from previous well done videos, but I always get micro bubbles that are appearing as soon that the print cools downs or when I make the last cold bath. Thank you again.

      Micro bubbles can be caused from the mating bath (if this is the source, it's best to use old water...water that has gassed out), water that is too high in alkalinity, insufficient paper sizing, or too much exposure. I used to use "old water", but I found out my tap water wasn't full of micro bubbles but it's a bit high in alkalinity, so I always put a little bit of vinegar in the mating bath. How are you sizing your paper? It could just be a sizing issue, or water quality.

    I love the light situation and it is one of the most beautiful scenes certainly that I've seen in your videos.

      Thank you! It worked out better than I expected. Hopefully I'll be able to capture what I initially wanted, in Autumn 2025!

    That's a nice specimen of a tree. It's juxtaposed with all the road traffic, the stoic peacefulness right beside a busy highway. What do you use to prevent light from entering around your darkroom door Andy? I assume there's no dodging and burning in the carbon printing process.

    • @analogueandy8x10
      @analogueandy8x10  3 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      It's impractical to dodge and burn due to exceptionally long exposure times under UV. That is one advantage the digital inkjet negs have. The ability to build all that in on the computer. To keep light from entering around the door, I have plastic strips that press up against the door when closed. I think they are meant to keep drafts out, but work well to keep the light out, too.

    Really nice print. Good call on the cropping. What was the actual dimension of the new cropped negative (7x14 or something similar?). And, did you actually cut the x-ray negative or just mask it when making the carbon tissue? I have found rating my HR-U film at EI 50 and developing in D23 1+3 is providing really nice results.

    • @analogueandy8x10
      @analogueandy8x10  วันที่ผ่านมา

      It's 8x14. I masked the negative. You can see it at 8:40. Cheers!

      @@analogueandy8x10 Really nice size. I somehow missed the masking part, so thanks for giving me the timecode. Keep'em coming!

      @@analogueandy8x10 I forgot to ask. What kind of tape are you using? I think I would like to get some to have on hand in case I ever want to mask.
