Thank you! Tried to wait out the weather... but the weather isn't stopping; ANOTHER rainfall warning (40mm an hour) yesterday and today. Guess I'll get a big raincoat and do this in the soup!
So...I had the same trouble with my Coleman propane stove you're having and I tried cleaning the burners etc. with the same results. What fixed the issue was cleaning the valves. I know that seems counterintuitive, but it's probably what the problem is. Remove the knobs, remove the stem nuts (or whatever they're called--you'll see them), then remove the valve stems. Clean the old grease off the o-rings and valve seat, then use a rolled up paper towel or pipe cleaner to clean the opening out. Lightly re-grease the o-rings with silicone grease (or something else that won't hurt the rubber--only takes slight film), reassemble and let her rip.
Amazing advice!!! This I will certainly do as soon as this weekend. Thanks for the heads-up on that. It doesn't make total sense to me, but also does... if that makes sense? 🤔🤔🙃
Oh look at you with your fancy Coleman cooler, wheels and an extra handle for pulling it around! I like Coleman as well but I went with the wheel-less version. It is weird that they always come in dark colors so that they absorb the sun and melt your ice faster. I guess you can find a spot that is shade all day or move it a million times a day. I also have a duel fuel stove that takes gas or white fuel but I found out the hard way that it doesn't seem to like the white fuel as much seeing how the one time I used it I had the whole thing on fire, which was too dangerous to cook on.
The colour thing is weird eh? I still have one of my Grandfather's Coleman coolers and it's blue as well. My childhood ones are red and orange and our "new" (purchased in the last 15 years) are obv blue. Maybe they figure with the white lids that's all the sun needs to stay away? The wheel one was a nice-to-have when we had the littlest of kids and it's still decent when I get the designation from my wife of "one-trip-charlie" 'cos I can stack that thing like a hand truck. You weren't diggin the open-fire-campstove cook eh? 🤣 What happened with yours, was it a spill or a pinhole in one of the tubes? That sounds scary as hell. White gas is always unnerving to use to me (I spill it even with mini-funnels. But from what I've read it burns hotter and less toxic than kerosene. I've burned both, but still have a near full container of the Coleman white gas in the garage so will likely use that up.
@simplewoodslife I'm not sure what was going on with the white fuel it was just like dripping out. Caught the whole thing on fire and had to pull the tank out which of course spilled more into it. Didn't damage it any which is why I love it so much, almost pretty much indestructible. I've never tried to use kerosene in it before, maybe worth a try, just our normal gas that we put in our cars and the white fuel.
FAH as always J dog. Good to see ya again yes! lol. Sounds like we had the same bleeping weather here also. Can’t wait to see you boat thingy. lol. Later brah. Mrs. Jack and love your vlogs. Keep them coming.
Lol, I did get a touch nutty with the weather.. it's driving me insane! 🤪Put most of my nonsense in that video however there's a good one-minute song about camping equipment maintenance that didn't make it in the video... seemed just too far-gone even for me 🤣🤣🤣 At least the gardens are loving the weather eh? Most of the plants anyway. Hope you're doing well Chris, say howdy to Mrs. Jack!
I haven't yet... thinking it'd be super harsh, but I don't know as I have seen "gentle" oven cleaners 🤣🤣🤣 Seems that would defeat the purpose? My Father in law gave me his old Coleman white gas stove and I need to do an overhaul on it. Love the whole process of setting those up and lighting them, brings me back to my childhood. Mind you the 5430 is just soooooo easy and has yet to really let me down it's always my goto.
Winter is coming.
Oh jeeze 🥶🥶🥶😆 True enough, but still plenty of time left for building and lumberjacking and camping and paddling and quadding and boating I hope.
Great video. Good to see you back.
