Well that is like the complete opposite of my interactions with our past lovebirds...We had one named Peachie who would stalk us in her cage and ambush unwary fingers like a velociraptor...and then cackle.
LOVE!!! I'm watching this with my little pineapple GC conure, Piccolo - who weirdly, has never been as sweet & affectionate as my first GC. I'm thinking - watching vids like these - which totally melt my heart -- will help Piccolo realize her cuddle potential! So far -- it seems to be working!!
This kind of bird is an "agaporni", there are many tipes of agaporni (agaporni fisher, agaporni roseicolli... bla bla) , also called "inseparables" (the names in my spanish language), inseparable means "not separated/always together", this bird when find a partner, is for the rest of his life, with the owner the same, thats the reason we called them "inseparables"
hello, i have a pair very similar to yours! my peach faced birb has also begun to make the sound at 0:50 but its not playing with anyone and sitting by himself should i be worried?
My 2 birds died in 2019 The male died due to ants (white blue lovebird) The Female died due to dehydration (White gray lovebird and dunno if my spelling is correct) ;-;
OwlLady try not giving them food for 2 or 4 hours then try putting food in your hand and it will eventually eat from your hand and this will create a soon to be bond and u can give it millet
I’ve heard the avg lifespan in captivity is around 10-15 years but that is not to say there aren’t some that live longer like the previous comments mentioned. Birds past away from various reasons but I usually check diet first. I may be repeating somethings you may already know but figured I would cover my bases: They should not be on a seed based diet as it easily results in fatty liver (because like the name suggest they are consuming too much fat). Captive parrots should have a mix of pellets, fruit and veg, and avoid toxic foods like anything caffeinated like coffee as well as chocolate, avocado, and seeds/pits from inside of fruit just to name a few. If diet was not the reason, often times it is very hard to tell because they are good at hiding when they don’t feel well since they are naturally prey animals. There is the option of necropsy for the vet to determine cause of death if you are set on knowing the exact reason why.
I think in America (I live in UK) the term 'cute' is used for not natural behaviours ie with mirrors, going into empty glasses rolling around, mounting objects. This is all stressful behaviour due to being on its own & desperate for a mate to socialise with, we are a poor replacement however well intentioned, they see reflections of themselves & try to make contact & get stressed out, die early. I done a single bird that would spend hours with its mate in the mirror & getting frustrated with it all. Cruel really. We think only of our selves & not the poor budgies.
ItzChef boyR_Dee yes, sometimes they are grumpy or you touch a new growing feather that’s sore, so they nip your friends. They can be temperamental little ones
I'm interested in lovebirds as a future possible pet, will they bond with you if theres a pair of them or will they focus exclusively on the other lovebird?
Fruitbird lovebirds are very high maintenance pets, so it’s a good thing that you’re thinking about it in advance and not just getting them on a whim. I would say please get a pair, and adopt/rehome if possible. Older lovebirds are lovely and chill compared to young energetic (and loud!) lovebirds. They will still bond to you even if in a pair. My youngest pair, “the babies”, are bonded to each other. I brought home the little girl because she looked miserable at a store (yes I know, such a hypocrite when I wrote above not to get on a whim 😛). She and her mate have bonded to me and come to me for attention and affection all on their own time and terms, and it’s been really lovely. ❤️ that said - please don’t get birds if you don’t have a nice big cage and a safe big space for them to fly around, and if you can’t commit to letting them fly free in that space every day for at least 3 hours.
Hey beautiful people,if you want to start your day with adorable parakeets,then watch this video th-cam.com/video/S8BwWuHWnnQ/w-d-xo.html..love you all

OwlLady try not giving them food for 2 or 4 hours then try putting food in your hand and it will eventually eat from your hand and this will create a soon to be bond and u can give it millet
Slowly - let them come to you, don’t force it. And please don’t follow the other comment- depriving your birds of food is awful 😬
