I loved the way this zone is a climax of a bunch of different troll stories, with the sacrifices from Zul'Drak, reviving Dazar from reviving the Thunder King, and the various tribes gathered from 4.1. It feels really good to have all these years of troll patches come together.
Shadra was the reason I fell in love with WoW... back around the end of Vanilla I finally did the Hinterlands quest that saw her avatar summoned. It was my first real brush with what I could only determine was one of the best experiences I had ever had in a game. I loved Shadra so much and the way they framed her that I told a friend about her. That friend made me a special clay version of Elortha no Shadra that I keep generally close at hand. All of my Troll characters claimed Shadra as their loa and I played this game never thinking that this day would come. Obviously it would be stupid if I somehow blamed Blizzard for doing something that would bother one particular fan, but if she's really gone, dead, forever... this would be a blow to all of my characters and to me in the same vein as it was to lose Ysera. BTW the friend that made me the clay sculpture died three years ago... so there is a lot more emotion to this then anyone can possibly give it credit for, lol. I really wanted to be able to save her. Even though I knew we couldn't (I log on before release to read the Adventure Guide about the dungeon bosses and that particular spoiler is right in Yazma's text)
CryingBuddha I thought that loas return to the dream so not really dead? Since they are natural spirits and are part of the original wild gods maybe they also take part in the dream and can be summoned again like the other gods.
Loa aren't Wild Gods or Ancients or w/e they're being called. Loas are more akin to great beasts that where seen as divine rather than being divine. Blizzard has made it a point on a few occasions to clarify that loa aren't the same as the beings the Night Elves worship BUT that Trolls still see Wild Gods as being Loa. The point is, that in the case of the Drakkari butchering their loa, the loa you save in front of Zul'drak specifies that the kind of defilement used destroys the essence of the loa. And since Yazma used the same sort of ritual on Shadra, there is a good chance she's similarly destroyed. That being said, the lore is a little bit blurred on the matter (which is one of the reasons I absolutely love it), so its a stone throw. In this case however I think Blizzard is confirming she's dead since it's very much Yazma's intention to kill her and never have her be able to come back.
I love BFA so much for all the awesome Troll stuff they're finally adding. Ever since I got into the game Troll lore has always been somewhat rare and spread out and mysterious, and I've always loved it. And now we're getting so much awesome tidbits and I'm just enjoying the hell out of this expansion for Zandalar alone. Also Nobbel, you should definitely do a video about Zalazane's return! That entire questline was just magnificent to experience!
Grey World I’m not saying you’re wrong, your opinion is your opinion, but *I* enjoyed The Alliance stuff more. I’m not saying I didn’t like the Horde stuff, I like both. But there’s something about the Alliance stuff that made me like it a little bit more.
@@witnessforchrist7778 did u play horde side? We raised Kul'tiran in order to know how to smash where it hurt. Next Alliance will attack Zuldazar and destroy our ships but we have something powerfull that already easily destroy many ships. So it will be a tie i guess. Also we dont know what we are going to do with Derek's body to.
Already played through the full Zuldazar campaign and got through the War Campaign but I clicked because I very much want to hear what you think about it.
I did this area last and I'm glad I waited, if only because the lore and the storytelling here is a lot more rich than the other two areas (Bwomsamdi was really the only real interesting part of the remaining of Zandalar). I hope I can gear up on time to check any of the raids that will further explore the story, but if not I'm glad to have this channel to show me. Great vid!
Yeah going too Zandalar, they most have be released around the same time , that lame a$$ Wakanda and Namor movie came out ..lol wonder if Blizzard would had added that line ,if they new how bad that movie was going too be ..?
As soon as I heard Zul(THE SAME one) returning I knew he would be up to no good. These Trolls are as resilient as they are many no matter what, I will BREAK THEM again and again. Lok'tar Ogar! FOR THE HORDE!!!
man ive come back to retail after years and this story is the one i played with my newly created Demon Hunter, the missions caught me, the cinematics, the reference to "the emperors groove" it is an amazing piece of lore you even grow to care for rezan. when he died it hurt, really bad he was an amazing character :(
I just finished leveling my 2nd Alliance Tank (first DK then Demon Hunter) and after watching this I can't wait to level my Horde Death Knight (yes I have a Death Knight Tank in each faction I'm a bit of an enthusiast).
I imagine that Hakkar is absoultley fuming about this from the Otha Side. So much blood flying around. The diseases he'd spread it he could get even a drop of it! Zul'd never know what hit em.
Meh, Rezan was kinda an idiot rushing in like that. Better to go with Loa like Jani or Gonk who are not giant idiots even if Rezan was cool. Edit: Also Vol'dun please. Everyone should get to experience Dot and company.
You know why Rezan charged them? You know what Rezans buff was? Rezan buff was immortality and 300% dmg increase. He rushed because he didn´t knew that they used Old God which was active but wasnt released physicaly. That trap wasn´t in mind of Rezan. He was actually thinking some black magic but definetly not Old God one.
She unfortunately says that all the other Dark Trolls are dead, though she may be lying or just misinformed from not being home when they went under cover.
Nobbel, have you thought about making a video on the lore of what happened to the other houses in Kul Tiras and how their fixed. e.g. Stormsong Valley taken over by a devoted sage betrayed people to Azshara and becomes an Illithid or in another part the residents are frozen in time and place for some reason. Basically I watch your content because I love the lore in WoW outside of actually playing the game.
17:00 a Giant God-Devilsaur charges by killing all of his allied troops while this lonely Mogi Pilliger stands there saying "I am Power manifest!" I dont know i think this is funny xD
Oh and one more thing: Nazmir is probably the best zone in the entire game. I have done all of the storylines for each zone and Nazmir is by far my favorite.
Anyone that knows anything about the lore already knew Zul was a bad guy lol. Especially when on the ship he says "good, good" like Emperor Palpatine lol.
We don't side with him tbh. First we break him out of jail but that is cause talanji is there aswell and then we are commanded to help him from the king.
I thought zul was gonna be the one to save his people( welll in his eyes anyway). Ever scince we learned about his motives in mists never thought he would be aligning with the same guys who caused the zandalrai hardship in the first place.
Dont know why you keep starting the horde story with zuldazar when for me it feels like it should be the last zone. All they do is talk about having proven ourselves. Only makes sense after taking care of the blood trolls and the rogue general
Also it makes no sense us going to other zones while the king is weakened and vulnerable. It makes more sense that it is the last thing to happen chronologically
But it's seems unlikely to just go to zuldazar doing whatever the king pleases when you've seen that Mithrax as broken free. + it make sense that Talanji finally get the soldier for her expedition once the king realises that Zul was hiding the truth of the threat lurking in Nazmir Just to add an argument, at the start of Zuldazar, their talking of the rogue General as if he was alive (when you're taking care of Amani trolls) that he have authority and all... To resume, i think that the Horde "normal" questing order is Zuldazar->Nazmir->Vol'dun Cause it make sense that after the massive drop of soldier in zuldazar, Talanji find the means to do her expedition. In the same logic, i think that once mithrax as broke free of itt's prison, it will charge for the final seal, letting no time to think of other threats.
The thing with why or how Zul became a prisoner, I just accepted it because there's loads of shit in the lore that's not explained in the game. Like appar Calia Menethil is somehow Lightforged and undead, but there's nothing in the game to mention it. Sure, we've seen some Arthas stuff, but she's gonna pop up out of nowhere, people who don't watch lore videos won't know what's going on. It's just weird. I am expecting something this expansion. When Rezan said, "It is time to ask yourself... are you king, or are you prey?" I felt that in my soul.
And then he had to go and get himself snared in a trap... =/
I loved the way this zone is a climax of a bunch of different troll stories, with the sacrifices from Zul'Drak, reviving Dazar from reviving the Thunder King, and the various tribes gathered from 4.1. It feels really good to have all these years of troll patches come together.
"Just let me finish!" I don't know why that cracked me up so much.

Reading your connection to Shadra was a lot for me.
@@Divinemartyr Torga came back as a baby turtle
They also didn't use the Drakkari ritual on Torga, the goal was to kill him outright not effectively steal his essence as Yazma does to Shadra.
"Take ya little friend. I'll be seein' ya in goooood time" OH NO BWONSAMDI YOU KNEW :(
Knowing how the Horde side ends. Vol'jamba visions speaks truths.
Yeah gotta give him credit atleast he was consistant
Hordes finale ''the final seal of an old god is broken, destruction awaits". Meanwhile at the alliance side of things "I love you mom".
The Old Gods can only be defeated by the power of family and friendship.
@@SuperDuperSonicSpeed old gods cant be defeated other than with destruction of azeroth, but they can be pushed back and emprisoned though not forever
horde finale they fail..... again
Alliance finale they succeed
all about perspective
Both sides had parents that were betrayed by a long time friend that tried to turn them against their daughter.
And both sides imprisoned the daughters. Alliance side had it as literal imprisonment. The Horde had it in the form of an unwanted commitment
I love BFA so much for all the awesome Troll stuff they're finally adding. 0:57 unless you spoiled yourself by looking at the uldir bosses in the adventure guide like i did
I misread that as "unless you soiled yourself by looking at the uldir bosses..." and I thought, "damn, they must be scarier than I thought!"
Honestly I like the horde stuff going on more then the alliance stuff.
Grey World I’m not saying you’re wrong, your opinion is your opinion, but *I* enjoyed The Alliance stuff more. I’m not saying I didn’t like the Horde stuff, I like both. But there’s something about the Alliance stuff that made me like it a little bit more.
Meanwhile alliance war campaign is actually waging a war against the horde. Not tracking one dead body for some reason
Grey World I haven’t even played on Horde side yet and I agree

Alliance stuff is more character focused while the horde stuff is more of the traditional blizz like plot of shit going down and you trying to fix it.
Bwonsomdi(?) has got to be my favorite Loa ever.😂
I clicked it so fast
FINALLY THE HORDE SIDE THANK YOU MY MAN YOURE THE ONLY REASON I CARE FOR THE LORE!
Already played through the full Zuldazar campaign and got through the War Campaign but I clicked because I very much want to hear what you think about it.

"Dere is no Loa, only Zul mudderfacker Zul"
Ya know... what if the trolls just renamed Zuldazar and the original name was actually Uldazar?

14:50 THATS ME!!! OMG THATS ME!! MOM IM ON TV!!! I can not believe it! Damn I act like a child..
Rastakhan has the best voice acting in BFA so far, Bwonsamdi is the best overall though.
Did you say a... DARK TROLL!?!!!!?
She unfortunately says that all the other Dark Trolls are dead, though she may be lying or just misinformed from not being home when they went under cover.

I agree about the word of zul II . It definitely changes the lore of mist of pandaria. 21:02

Oh and one more thing: Nazmir is probably the best zone in the entire game. I have done all of the storylines for each zone and Nazmir is by far my favorite.
this was awsome, the trolls have allways been my favorit race in wow and this was just perfekt. good job, Nobbel :)
I personally would like to see Nazmir last of the zones, since then we might have a bit more info from boss talk and stuff
you should do the questline where you get two brutosauri to mate and do it all serious and insightful.
Jaina ain't got nothin on Bwonsamdi
Anyone that knows anything about the lore already knew Zul was a bad guy lol. Especially when on the ship he says "good, good" like Emperor Palpatine lol.
I would like you to do Najmir next.
The fact that the horde sides with Zul for a time after we fought him in MoP just proves how evil they "or at least their leadership" are.
Rohkan wasn't happy about it either.
We don't side with him tbh. First we break him out of jail but that is cause talanji is there aswell and then we are commanded to help him from the king.
Do nazmir as it fitted better given there is a scenario after completing zuldazar and nazmir
So when everything is said and done can the Loa be reincarnated like what was done with the turtle Loa, or was that specific to him?
Perhaps Torga is an actual wild god. But then surely Melorn must come back
Just found out about What's In The Box achievement in Uldir... interesting...
That shadows will force the king to kneel. I don't think that's zul but actually bonshamdi.
Rastakhans voice actor is KAyi ushe, he has a barely used youtube channel
This makes me want to make a troll character. This zone had awesome atmosphere.
Follow the zone order you suggested and do Nazmir next
WOWganda forevaaaaaaa!
I thought zul was gonna be the one to save his people( welll in his eyes anyway). Ever scince we learned about his motives in mists never thought he would be aligning with the same guys who caused the zandalrai hardship in the first place.

rastakhan for warchief.
Naaah
He is a complete idiot
Talanji on the other hand
Ever thought of doing ASMR Nobbel? I love listening to your beautiful voice! Thanks for the great video
We should definitely do Nazmir next
Lol nice subtitles at 22:00
My favorite part was poking Emperor Rastakhan and Yazma.
Cover the loa plz
imagine being that one tauren that made it into a Nobbel video
Both stories are about princesses coming home
Is "artificially created" accurate? The Void Lord's created them as did the Titan's so who is to say what is artificial and what is "natural"?
Can't loa be resurrected? Or did the drakkari figure something out that gave them permadeath? I never leveled in zul'drak lol
Torga was resurrected
Do a lore video about Stormwind
story of kul tiras when?
So does this mean Rezan is permanently dead? No more reincarnation nor resurrection whatsoever?
Well then again, Torga was killed by blood magic and was reborn as a baby turtle for the Tortollan
Where does Hakkar fit in this? Any sign of him anywhere in this expansion?
Hasn't shown up himself yet but we learn a bit more of zandalar history with hakkar in Kings rest
Gotcha. You're my only source of anything WoW-related, thank you.
dude i actually like the mystery around the character of Zul-if he was good or bad.But u spoiled it
Can we go resurrect Lei Shen? I'd gladly aid him in the extermination of cance-Pandas in exchange for the aid of the Mogu.
Nazmir, definitely.
Gonk Droid! I mean... Yeah! Gonk!
Nobody:
Trolls: likkle (little)

Wow I've never clicked so fast.
I feel like you are not doing it in chronological order for these zones

shoulda let Rastakhan die in the first place ngl :/
