      why is it only a good meme though? I get destroyed by ST and AVRE everytime I face them :(
      How do I counter them? Especially without my own heavy. In these situation I can rarely afford them because I am most likely on the backfood already

      You can watch a tournament game and figure out how to play meta easily. People need more help to play off meta.

      @@tightropegaming you are right but honestly watching tournament games takes too much time for me. Having a 10-15 min video where it gets carefully explained is so much better and saves time which I would rather spend playing. Also getting all these tips and tweaks on how to adapt to what your opponent is doing is really helpful. Furthermore there are still newer or less experienced players (like me) which might want to get good with the meta first before switching things up

      I don't think that it's fun build. It's just you need adequate teammate for serious help (and of course, there is no reason in Tier 1; it's better to go for mechanize and repair all the vehicles).

    I did same build ago. Main thing is sp capture strategy. When you make that 221, t4 will be late. But if you upgrade 221 and send to oil buff +7. you can make t4 in 10 min. because it takes 3-4 min to make its own oil cost.

    Nice video thanks tightrope. Which OKW commander/build would you recommend for the Soviet T1 penal M3 start? It's the toughest matchup by far for my OKW game.

      It's hard to tell what soviet goes because they usually go single conscript first, but if you see they lag a bit behind in map control it's usually penals+m3 and possibly sniper in team games or open maps. Fusiliers work well against m3 strat, also early mine or worst case scenario shrek on the sturmpio.

    I find that elite armour is extremely potent when you pick to go for Mechanized HQ. Obviously this means your opponent doesn't go heavy tanks, and essentially their playstyle and strategy have to be susceptible to Mechanized. But personally I've been having a blast running a Puma with HEAT shells and surprising people with the Walking Stuka. I spent some downtime pondering how to overcome OKW's infantry weakness and overall susceptibility to Allied snowballing... in the end, I decided to invest some time in the Rocket Half-Track. I feel like it's the AWP from CSGO... with enough practice you can achieve a few strategic things and even if you don't get a kill (high damage leg shot) or straight up miss (lol) you have:
    1.) Shock factor. You force the enemy to move or lose, or be really vigilant about using their infantry in certain ways, in certain places
    2.) Bait. When some people get tilted, they'll gift you a tank to be scrapped.
    3.) Confusion. Definitely not a common unit, players aren't used to the timing and the presence of this weapon.
    4.) Forced retreats. Sure, they're alive... but they aren't gonna be contesting your territory for as long as they're in base
    5.) Game winning wipes. When you're playing Ladoga Karelia, Crossing in the Woods (centre, trench retreat), or any other maps, with enough practice you can really do some crazy stuff on most maps. Memorable moments for me include destroying 2 UKF Inf. Sections and 1 Commando squad retreating from my centre MG on Ladoga. But the most powerful tactic is blind firing into the fog of war based on educated guesses, destroying the intended target while eliciting an accidental retreat out of fear (2 wins in 1 barrage).
    My one wish is that they move the Stuka to the Schwerer panzer HQ. It's just unreasonable to force OKW to pick between infantry preservation (battlegroup) or unclear short term gains but long term hardships in the form of Mechanized HQ (Luchs and Puma show their limits quite rapidly and the cost both materially and the damage to your mid to late game...). While double infantry support guns are fun, I feel like the game is depriving players the opportunity to experiment with and properly utilise a key piece of utility in the OKW arsenal. Rocket artillery is all rather uniform in tech tiers/unlock; but as OKW, unless I explicitly play for the Stuka in mind I end up only getting the Stuka as a by-product of the King Tiger's prerequisites.

    USF mg has a 0 vet armor piercing skill wich crushes any armored vehicle in a burst or 2, its really effective early game.

      To get that MG with 0 vet piercing rounds you need:
      Call in leitenant (if I'm not mistaken 35 fuel+manpower)
      After he came you can build it.
      Or choose Airborne doctrine, wait till 2 CP, drop .50 cal, pick it up.
      In comparison to really fast 221 (15+15 fuel+manpower this is TOO slow).

    I've been playing lots Company of heroes 2 lately and as weirdo I love versatile but also very support units. The 221 scout car from the OKW elite armor commander is probably my most favorite support unit in the game! 😍 and for good reason!
    One, compare to other support units like America ambulance and okw/otheer cargo trucks 🚚 this scout car is capable of healing but through health packs therefore alittle bit more micro skill needed (sadly doesn't reinforce but that would be OP)
    2nd its a very good early scout unit compare to the kabulwagon its very good early scout unit that can fight infantry squad and harass the enemy! In terms of mobility and survivability, the 221 scout car is far superior than the kabulwagon in my opinion. One top of that just like the kabulwagon it has amazing detection ability which is passive along the player to see incoming enemy vehicles which helps situation awareness of the battlefield.
    Lastly in-game unlike the Kabulwagon, and its the the reason why i love the 221 scout car 🚗 as my most favorite support unit in the game is because it able to turn itself into a resource deposit unit just like the cargo supply truck 🚚 from assault support doctrine from ostheer which as OKW player its very valuable to have a unit that generates extra resources for yourself as OKW player.
    One more I want to add compare yo the American utility car 🚗 it can also use smoke and place anti-tank mines but also due! due to the Elite armor commander it gets self-repair ability along the fact that the upgrade increase its survivability (just like utility car upgrades) this thing is definitely the best support vehicle in the game and I love it! 🥰

      It alao just looks awesome. I was sad that when i finally got coh2 the wehrmacht car had been patched to just always be a 222, not requiring an upgrade. I always loved the 221 in coh1. And its on such a fun doctrine too

    I know this guide was done with 1v1 in mind, but do you think the strategy translates into 2v2 also? Kinda wanting to meme around with this, but losing badly is never fun

      This commander is much more preferable in 2 vs 2, but you need adequate teammate for this.

    My bro always uses this build on me when I'm British going IS, IS, UC.....that 221 hurts esp since Brits IS cant snare and its easy to avoid Brit engineers. This build is pretty hard to counter. Any tips as Brits early game?

      The allied light cars and halftracks have .50cals on them which have high penetration. Whereas the mg42 can shred infantry but only fires regular 7.92 MG rounds. Its the same with the infantry HMG teams

    I thing the 223 upgrade should cost less, it is very difficult yo keep it alive without tank support and you already expended some fuel on 223 meaning tanks will arrive later. To expensive imo same as AA half track, depending on the map you cannot use the 223 to recover fuel.

    The 223 is my most favorite armored car in the game and i love how its both a scout vehicle and a support unit that have many amazing utilities. Clearly the upgrade is a no-brainer its a must have in order to gain the full benefits of this unit and on top of that the survivability bonus that the upgrade gives is definitely a must have cause this armored car is very vulnerable for late game (sadly it still does) however the its utilities and abilities are what makes my fall in love with this armored car 🚗 😍 cause it truly scales ⚖ to late game situation. So in other words the 222/223 armored car 🚗 is a amazing early game scout unit that scales ⚖ to amazing late game support units. Reasons well first of all its a armored car 🚗 so in early game its a fantastic for early harassing infantry units not to mention its fantastic at taking out annoying snipers. Second when the game starts to transition into mid-late game where most tanks and AT-gun 🔫 are mostly like present, the armored car's amazing abilities will start to shine 🙌 as a support unit (after upgrading it of course) such as health packs to support infranty in the frontlines, it has a passive detection ability that allows the player to be aware of a incoming enemy vehicles or tanks, it has smoke 🚬 for cover (and survivability) it has anti-tank mines which is definitely relatively needed especially for a doctrine that emphasizes on tank battles which on top of that it can self-repair thanks to the commander that is part of (even more survivability). Lastly my most favorite ability is the extra resources ability where it can lock 🔐 down and provide extra resource income. I personally use this ability once the match has enter into late game (when tanks are rolling out) as OKW player who sometimes has a hard time getting extra fuel this ability to me is just fantastic (for me at least) so whenever I lock 🔐 down my 223 armored car 🚗 I tend to lock 🔐 it at the fuel point for i can gain more fuel. This armored car 🚗 is definitely my most favorite scout/support vehicle in the game. 😍

    Your secret off-meta strat won't be secret if you make a vid about it.
    I love elite armour commander. You talk here about 1v1 strats, but in 2v2 you can sometimes skip BG and go straight for Mechanized because you are probably going to field stuka and puma at some point and with HEAT shells and you don't need to rush Schwehr HQ. You may end up having higher impact in teamgames with Stuka than with P4 and Puma is insanely strong with HEAT shells, especially when vetted. Having mechanized helps with keeping 221/223 in good shape due to repair-bots. In such games you use 221 for initial push and later for infantry harassment. Build order is pretty standard with as many volks as possible to as early 221 as possible. Also in teamgames KT supported by JP4 (both with HEAT available) is the go-to combo. Sturmtiger makes wiping enemy stuff so much easier if you use it at max range outside of enemy sight and if you know how the rocket trajectory works. Also having no muni-heavy offmaps means you spend your extra muni on auto-repairs and HEAT shells making your vehicles have higher combat time and higher combat efficiency.

    I haven't done this in 1v1's but I use this commander a lot in 2v2's. I don't like using double Sturmpios early as they cost a lot to reinforce and on open maps are prone to bleeding a lot of manpower. Using double volks and playing defensively on one side of the map while aiding your partner with the 221 and pios allows for a really early mobile aggression. Also just not a fan of going into Battlegroup as imo its really a waste not getting a puma when you have access to HEAT shells. A puma, decently handled, with HEAT shells can easily beat mediums and often your opponents will have been almost baited into rushing for a light vehicle to counter the 221 if you get a lot of damage done with it.

      Also, what is your opinion about tank commanders upgrade for Panther?
      As I know, standard fire range of panther (also stug G, elephant and Jagdtiger) is bigger than vision.
      So, better vision, better accuracy and better penetration can be useful (at least, as for me).

    this car is so worthless, the enemy can upgrade the bazooka, piat or anti tank grenade relatively quickly. the half track with the 20mm or the puma are much more meaningful.
