  • The frame in this video is a 1994 ZX-Z, part of my Project ZX-7X. In this video, I will show you how I managed to stuff a 2008 ZX10R engine, a powerful and modern engine that can reach speeds of over 300 km/h, into a ZX7/R frame, a heavy but stable bike that was popular in the 1990s. If you are interested in motorcycles, engineering, or DIY projects, you will enjoy this video. Please like, share, and subscribe for more content like this.
    Disclosure
This series captures my journey - the highs, the lows, and everything in between - as I fit a cutting-edge engine and suspension into a 30-year-old motorcycle. What’s resolved in one episode may evolve as unexpected challenges arise. Remember, this is a personal narrative, not an instruction manual.

Hi and thank you so much for your awesome comment. I’m thrilled that you love my project and that you subscribed to my channel. It means a lot to me.
This project is definitely a bit mad, but in a good way. I’ve always wanted to do something like this, and I’m glad I finally got the chance. It’s not easy, but it’s very rewarding. I couldn’t have done it without the support and feedback from people like you.
I’m curious, what’s your favorite part of the project? Is there anything you’d like to see more of or learn more about? I’m always open to suggestions and ideas. Please let me know in the comments. I’d love to hear from you.

@@MynameisDarko-ln5ts I was a Freshman in high school in 88 when the original ZX-7R debuted in the US. I had been riding for several years prior and had been following every sportbike made by every manufacturer, but the ZX-7R hit differently.
Decades later I have had many bikes of the go-fast variety (my current daily is an MT-10), but nothing speaks to my Gen-X sensibilities like the ZX-7R. So needless to say when I see someone stuffing the motor from a ZX-10R into a ZX-7R my interest is peaked beyond measure.
In regards to suggestions, the only aspect of the project I'm able to speak to is appearance. My suggestion would be to leave as much of the early/mid 90's goodness as possible. Weird pinks, purples and blues mixed with the whitest of whites are what I feel this beauty needs. Cheers.

Im in the process of stuffing a 04' zx10 in my 96. It has the front end , and swing arm and wheels already all it needs is the engine to be shoved in it. Just need to get out there and do it

ZX7R to ZX10 also GSX750R to GSX1100 engine swaps were done all the time when this bikes came.out nothing new here. Good work bringing back a forgotten way of getting a superbike. You make it seem harder than it is though

7/11 what a blast they were. GSXR 750 Slingshot with GSXR 1100 motor was easier to swap then my current project.

@@MynameisDarko-ln5ts I had a few friends that were running a ZX7R with a ZX9R engine I always lusted after one but I was living that GiXer life. I still think the ZX7R is the prettiest bike ever designed it's on my list to buy.

Hope you pull through Darko. Just like the zxr750/zx7 fuel injection projects, there are hints all over the internet that it has been done a couple of times. But a proper documentation and a final video with the motorcycle actually being driven normally and not just running seems impossible to find.
I wish for you to be first one.
I have a zxr750 j2 model from 92 and often wondered about a second motorcycle thats the same on the outside yet modern inside eg with an efi engine, abs and traction control haha.
    Greetings

With that chain alignment, it will hit the frame spar when it gets tight/straightens under acceleration. But i wish you the best, interesting project!

I have to order a front sprocket with an offset. this will align the chain a little better. Also another option is getting a spacer for the rear sprocket. thanks for the heads up.

Are you going radial calipers and forks on the zx7 also?

Just a thought after you mention the ZX9r engine being a bit easier to fit (I ride a y2k ZX9r), did you ever consider using the Z1000 engine from the early 2000's? I don't know if the mounts were changed, but that was a reworked ZX9r engine, may have been a little easier idk, but harder is more fun and satisfying I guess, good luck with the rest of the build.

    • @MynameisDarko-ln5ts
      @MynameisDarko-ln5ts  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

I thought about installing a Z1000 engine and even considered a GSXR 1000. But after a few rounds of head and tails, the ZX-10R engine was chosen.
      Thanks, much appreciated..
