I recently drove this route but coming from Maracas side to Arima. It was one of the scariest rides I have ever taken in Trinidad. I'm not Trini but love this Island and the sceneries. There was a spot where it left you out in the vast of the mountain road without any rails or trees and just open space. freaked me out. I don't think that I can handle going from Arima's side. lol
Yes it is scary driving there - especially if the drops are on your side of the road! Thanks for viewing & taking the time to leave a comment! I agree - T&T has some really cool spots - all the best! 😊👍💯
Interesting, but I would like to have heard some narrative or description of the types of foliage or plants along the way. I live in Texas. I was born in Trinidad but I have never driven on that road.

THIS, looks nothing like any remote places I've seen in Trinidad. What about the route that the Maxi Taxi takes to go from Arima to Sangre Grande thru Valencia. I found that to be lonely and dangerous-street wise & crime wise. Of course there are more remote places- no street lamps or residential homes or even businesses for stretches of miles. So which road is this exactly with so much traffic, street lamps, homes etc. Am I missing something here?🤔 Be safe. Peace

Have a look at this video thru the route - it may change your perspective on what the definition of lonely is. th-cam.com/video/i-jowQyEWe4/w-d-xo.html
A lttle food for thought - you may want to try narrating the video scenes instead of playing songs with lyrics which are not even applicable to the locations for someone who is totally unfamiliar with Trinidad. The video is remarkable but very lengthy without narrations to hold the interest of the foreign viewer. Just MY thoughts as I'm sure thisis not meant for folks alresdy living in Trinidad who are familiar with its surroundings & environment. Good initiative though, much appreciated as I don't really know much of the present Trinidad. 👍Be safe. Peace
Thank you for your visit & point of view. Accidents alone do not point to how dangerous a road is. The fact that you drove on the road once, safely and did not have an accident does not take away from the fact that it's a dangerous road. Finding statistics is an exercise in futility here. Common sense must prevail at all times.
Thanks for viewing & expressing an opinion. Just to reiterate, this video is about driving conditions and not any other issue which our country may be experiencing.
Sorry if it wasn't clear but quite a lot of tragic accidents happened on this road. Did you see the shrine? The fact that one side has drops in excess of 75m (a lot of them hidden by bushes at the top) and that vehicles are few and far between as can be seen in the video, makes the chances of someone rescuing you slim if you do go over the side. Another issue is speeding drivers on the opposite side, especially around one of the corners, coupled with the fact that when the cliff is on your side of the road makes it easier to go over the edge. Driving slowly and carefully here should always be a top priority.
Thanks for the view and your feedback. Haven't heard of an accident in any of the places you mentioned, but you can Google accidents on the road in the video. The information is not misleading.
