This massage for golfers elbow is nothing short of brilliant. Rachel, you are so good at demonstrating what to do. It has given me the confidence to help myself and the results are very good , even after just a couple of sessions. Thankyou❤
Wow! This helped so much, immediately! Thank you! Professional musician, have “golfer’s elbow “ from decades of Cello playing. This felt so good! Going to add it to my daily PT program
Rachel Richards I thank you for sharing your method - this and your tennis elbow video have finally sorted out my arms. I only did it yesterday evening and woke up pain free this morning for the first time in ages! Magic x
From lifting in gym, I had cortisone shots and tennis elbow surgery a few years ago. Golfers elbow pain now. After 15 mins with you it feels noticeably better. Will do this 15 min routine daily, thank you!
Thank you for showing how to massage with your forearm instead of just your wrist and fingers. I have it on both elbows so it can be tedious and irritating to have to use my fingers to massage my elbow lol.
I have golfers elbow in both. The right one is on fire burning most the time. I followed your instructions. The opposite arm across the affected one slowly down the arm gave me almost instant relief. I may be able to sleep tonight now! I also used a spiked lacrosse ball up and down wrist along with all you had in the video. Thanks!
Wow! just did all the massage techniques you so nicely explained as you showed them. Have to say I will be doing it daily until my golfer's elbow heals. Been going to physio for 3 months and not making much progress. I have to step up my macro facial techniques to go along with my eccentric weight exercise. You are the first person I have ever followed. Keep up the awesome videos. : )
Thanks beautiful, this gave me some insight to my problem, its so frustrating that yesterday i couldn't do bench press and today the same thing happened with the shoulder press dumbbell. i really like to do them but i couldn't due to the elbow problem. been massaging the way it came to my mind. then i thought why not approach youtube. i am glad i found your video and the other old chick's. your probably is more favorable as it doesn't require any favor from the other person😘
So glad this is helpful for you! When strength training, check in with your form. Make sure your wrists are straight as you grip the dumbbells. You might want to hire a trainer to help you make any necessary adjustments.
I downloaded your videos related to anxiety, palpitations, headache, stress and they are really effective I always watch everytime i'm not feeling well and i'm always relieved in addition I like your sweet voice too it makes me calm from philippines
There's often some activity that's perpetuating the condition, e.g. a sport, playing an instrument, typing, that causes recurrences. Often, you would need to reduce or stop doing the activity for at least a couple of weeks. I encourage you to see your doctor for a thorough treatment plan.
what a fantastic video! I am finding where it is most tender for me is just slightly above the inner elbow bone instead of below, just kind of beside and slightly down from the bicep - should I also just dig in there with a few fingers like you have shown?
I'm not a big fan of icing, since it can interfere with the healing process and create more tension in the muscles. That said, if you find that it's helpful for you, then sure.
Great question. If you are in the acute phase, or there is still inflammation, stick with ice. If it's an old injury that's just sore now and then, you can put heat on the forearm to help relax the muscles. Avoid heat directly on the elbow.
hello Rachel! i want to say thank you for this video it's very helpful. i got this pain on my eblow that seems to be golfers elbow but i'm not sure.It start few weeks a go when i was going to gym (1/2 days a week) and i think i lifted to heavy for my body weight. i been to doctor and he told me i have no problems my bones are ok. the thing is i'm not going to gym any more but the pain it's worst some times. i don't feel the pain when i wake up but after the day long becomes very unconfortable, the pain comes from the interior part of elbow. i don't feel it all the time but when i do some particular moves it hurts. After i done this self-massage it feels better but i done it in the morning when i have no pain i'll try it and later. Do u think it's golfer elbow or something else, first time i feeled this pain 5 years a go but not this intense. Thank you.
I used this to get rid of golfers elbow but it ended up developing into a tommy john surgery. It really worked when it was just golfers elbow. It's been 4 months since surgery. Do you think this massage would work now?
I think it would. Although the surgery was on a ligament, the muscles and tendons in the forearm can respond by getting very stiff and sore. Give it a try and let me know how it goes.
@@rachelrichardsmassage9660 it worked great. A week ago I was worried I would need another surgery and all my work would be for nothing. Soon as the surgeon told me it was golfers elbow I knew this is what I needed to watch. Thank you for posting this.
Hi Rachel is it normal to feel a bit of pain after massaging a sensitive tendon spot? It's just I feel a bit of pain after on inside elbow just above bone as if I've done the exercise that provokes it.
It could be tender after the friction technique. If you feel like the massage is irritating rather then helping the issue, wait until your condition isn't so acute. Also, when you do this massage, be very gentle at first. You can always increase pressure later when the area is less sensitive. General rule of thumb is go easy in the beginning, and wait a couple of days to see how the injury responds. If symptoms ease, try a little more and, again, wait and see. If symptoms worsen, stop the massage and follow up with your doctor.
Spot on…already seeing improvement after a day of massage and stretching. You’re excellent Rachel!
Wonderful 😊 Keep up the good work!

@@rachelrichardsmassage9660 Thanks for the advice but i am myself a trainer, else i would be knocking the door of the hospital by now :)
Instant relief! I didn’t expect that. Thanks a lot.
Wonderful to hear!
Very nice and informative video!
Thank you so much, was just looking on TH-cam today for a golfers elbow self massage and here it is! Really good will do some more of this for sure 😁👍

Glad you like it! Sure, you can massage above the elbow. I would suggest working gently at first, since it's tender. Avoid causing any pain.
@@rachelrichardsmassage9660 thank you Rachel!

Thank you so much for that feedback! I agree. I put on my list to do another video with a close up of the work. Stay tuned :)
@@rachelrichardsmassage9660 Cool...looking forward to it
Will this work for first time bowling, my elbow and forearm started hurting later on during the day n felt worst the next day.
Only one way to find out ...
I'm a massage therapist and have chronic and very painful golfers elbows😢😢
I hope this offered some relief!
Would you do ice or heat for golfers elbow?

If I'm sore afterwards, should I ice it?
Yes, ice can help reduce the soreness. If you're very sore from this massage, you might need to lighten up.

This is very useful but I am a bit disturbed about th snapping thing. Ι get goosebumps and get creeped out. What should I do? 😭🤦🏻♂️
Skip it! You will still get relief from the other techniques.
When can elbow injury be chronic 😢
A chronic injury is generally one that lasts longer than 3 months.
Thank you!
My pleasure!
