A spearfisherman's life in French Polynesia - A reflexion about the way we eat

- What if we look into how our food is produced? What if we select our food based on if it is produced in a responsible and sustainable manner? The subject of spearfishing is often controversial! Some people don't like spear-fishers, if only for the "fish killer" image they may convey.
It might therefore seem odd to make a film to present a spear-fisher’s way of life, while thinking about a more sustainable way of consuming! And yet, you will be surprised! Through this short movie, I invite you to discover the way people eat in the remote islands of the Pacific, seen by the spear-fishers of the Tuamotu archipelago, in French Polynesia.
This is only their point of view, but I would like to present others! The subject of fruits and vegetables is quickly brought up, but that theme deserves a full movie too! So if you plant fruits and vegetables in the Tuamotu or know someone who does, I would love to do a future episode to provide the perspective of those who grow food in these islands! Do not hesitate to contact me or send me the names of people interested in being filmed in the future!

Ah là ! Déjà je suis pas d'accord avec toi, les Tahitiens ne bouf' pas ( sauf ceux des îles du vent, là oui ! ) parce qu'il mange trop de saloperie. Et il manger uniquement ce qu'il pêche et si ils on en trop il font du troc ! Où les garder dans leur réserve ( piège à poissons )
