Old abandoned phosphate mines on an island lost in the middle of the South Pacific Ocean!?? Have you ever heard of it? Me neither! And yet this island exists, and it is called Makatea.
In this video, we are going to discover abandoned mines in the jungle of Makatea, in the Tuamotu Archipelago, in French Polynesia. An exploration of ruins abandoned in the 1960s, following the closure of the exploitation.
But then what happened? Why did nearly 3500 people leave, just like that, all of a sudden? In this video, we are going to discover a little-known part French Polynesia's history.

Bonjour Nous sommes allez il y a un peu plus de 2ans cette île est juste surprenante et plein d’histoire
Par contre ce qui on le mal de mer accrochez vous 🤪
