What a place, huh? I grew up about 6 miles away, on Lake Aldwell (doesn't exist anymore), and Salt Creek is where we hung out in the summers, when we weren't up the Elwha or out on the coast, like Mora Beach and Cape Alava. There were several millitary emplacements along the coast of Juan de Fuca Strait. We raided couple of the old bunkers back in the early 70s and had C rations for weeks couple summers when we were camping out there. It's hard to get away from Port Angeles once you've been there for awhile.
Best campsites in eashington is pick a soot to pull over on most any " scenic route" preferably along a river or lake and hike in a short distance and pitch your tent ! I am partial to the " Mountain Loop Highway" myself which loops from Granite Falls up to Monte Cristo and if the roads not washed out and you're there in the summer can continue onto Darrington and arlington. Another is the North Cascade Loop but is much busier with tourists and campers. But a must see even if just making the drivein summer, its closed in winter due to snow. I envy anyone just getting out ther and enjoying nature and making memories so enjoy my friend, thanks for the video! Great job!
I started watching because of your discovery of the campground. I thought I’m interested in going in and then I ended up finishing your video. I realize this video is three years old so I’m hoping that you have gained more knowledge on how to do trail etiquette. And that you have learned the Plant life since the video, still get out there and enjoy the outdoors. It is amazing place to be but stay on the trails. We should respect the backcountry not only for the plant life and the animal life that live there but also for future hikers in campers who wish to come in enjoy that place too, just be kind and respectful. That’s all I remember growing up. My dad always told me and I think it was a common saying at the time take only with you photographs and leave only footprints. And added to that would be respect the trail and the plant life. We do need to be careful now that there are so many people out there trying to enjoy the outdoors like we do. By the way, the flowers you talked about those are skunk cabbage that was three years ago for your video, but I’m sure you know that by now
The Best campground in Washington state is the one no one else knows about, or staying in our Airbnb outside of Cashmere, while hiking on our private mountain.
dude merymere falls is very sketchy to climb up to the top. I did and I am pretty frekn fearless but I definitely got nervous. It is a LOT more steep & sketchy than it looks on camera.
I agree completely. I used that title of my video because I read a WA camping book and it had stated that this campground was the best in their opinion. I was there to find out. But no, definitely not. Always prefer more primitive camping spots. But as far as campGROUNDS go though, it's pretty good.
The best campground is very subjective. It matters what you're looking for. Are you into Nature? Are you into partying? Are you into fishing or hunting? Are you into just chilling? Its very subjective as to what qualifies as "best."
I was enjoying your video until you started to break the rules especially when you are more concerned about what viewers want from YT that what nature needs for there to be for the next person to see. Also, feeding a deer now you think is fine but that same deer now expects you to be there to feed it tomorrow will you be there? Plus is that a food they find in the wild? Can they digest it? Honor the nature you are in and leave it better than when you came into it. Thank you.
Look up the meaning of unauthorized and trespass. Don’t play dumb. It’s not a good reflection. Exercise respect. Honor the rules please. Drunk people are obnoxious and too many abuse the privileges. You sometimes sound like a very young person or like an alien from off planet . I sound very judgmental but as you are an independent tour guide you need to stay in your lane to respect the big picture. Thanks.
@eleanorcramer7986 Hey thanks so much for the comment. You seem like a pro, we should just refer to you from now on when in doubt. It turns out the "stay out" signs were only for the wooded area on the hills around the bunkers, not where I was on the clear paved path and parking lot. So I was well within my rights being where I was. But what do i know, im actually from Krypton. But thanks for your concern. Keep up the great work buddy! 😅
I wish you didn’t go off the trail cause you’re killing vegetation who take thousands of years to grow!!! We have Rules for that reason! Please take care our National Parks!
Nothing living here has been here for thousands of years 😂 weather, animals & geology are going to damage and change more than he ever could. This is a coastal area that is constantly changing, not some alpine meadow. Re-educate yourself, you sound foolish.
Really glad I clicked on this video. That campsite is beautiful.
Salt creek…love that place.. very squatchy

The Gifford has all the best campgrounds in Washington! Tekhlakh lake camp, lower Lewis falls camp, Walupt lake camp, and so many more
Quit telling people about that.
Olympic have the best campgrounds. You can camp on the beach or forest. It's up to you.
I love the water, so a private space there would be great.
I wonder why they cut down so many trees. Kind of looks like a potential for fire.
“Frikken snow”…exactly what a PNW native would say. Hate the snow !! 😅
Nothing like a Mountain view
Agreed. Mountains make the best backdrop.
Fyi. Generally speaking, late summer salmon season Aug -Sep it's always loaded with us fisherman.
Best campgrounds in our area, Olympic Peninsula, are Fairholme on Lake Crescent, Mora off the ocean and Sol Duc in the mountains.

Oh u fancy huh?
@@camcamps4840 Naa, just a normal guy
Salt Creek is nice for car camping
Wait....what was the place in PA where you got the burrito??
@@tdelphia1 It was Little Devil's Lunchbox
@@camcamps4840 Thanks! I'm gonna check them out next trip that way 😊

My fry sauce is 2 Tsps thousand island dressing and 4 TBLSP bar-B-Que sauce yummy. ❤
I love a beer camping. You bet!😊
Much to my unpleasant surprise, the sign said "bear camp" not "beer camp."
No. This is not the best camp ground in Wa. Those would be found in the cascade range and include lakes and streams and not as much asphalt.

Don't touch susan's bench. Not for you. For susan, only.
Exactly...exactly.
Disappointed you fed him

No. You don’t understand how quickly things grow in the forests of Washington with all the rain.
What she said

Thousands of years to grow vegetation? 🤣 There's 22.5 million forested acres in WA state and only 0.1% is used for recreation. Don't be ridiculous
Have you been under a rock? Oh, youre an out of towner. 😂
graves creek is my favorite
