It was swana people getting offended that the China and Japan-inspired regions got research and care put into them while Sumeru is just yet another orientalist salad of different cultures. Then Twitter made it out to look like they were whining that the characters were "too white" and just being disrespectful and racist in general.

Always find it unfortunate when valid concerns by the actual involved community get talked over by louder outsider community discussions, which can lead to it being reduced to just "this part of the community is making an issue out of nothing" or "these people are immediately racist" on twitter, reddit, etc
it's easy to let grievances from involved community be said without hopping on just to have a say
I really loved how Hoyoverse took this teaser to really match the Harbingers to the Commedia Dell'arte, which to no surprise that the rest of them have Italian titles based on actual Italian Theatre characters, and how they title it "A Winter's night Lazzo", which Lazzo is a special characteristic of comedia, A joke or "something foolish and witty". And when everyone argue or talk with each other we see pierro enter the room and says "It's time to end tonight's foolish theatrics. Right now, you have no captive audience." Which to me is interesting since they are named after Italian Theatre Characters, and they aren't really performing in front of an audience... yet Pierro says that as if they were performing...
and it turns out genshin has been a "play" or "simulation" the entire time within the next big vr game that hoyoverse will release in 2028

I wish the same thing. The lore and worldbuilding of Genshin, outside of what's expressed in the archon quests and story quests is phenomenal. Unfortunately, most players are have an aversion to reading or digging beneath the surface level approach of the story, and it's equally reflected when it comes to content creators. I might have the best presentation when it comes to my understanding of the lore and worldbuilding, but I understand how underserved that aspect of content is within the community, so it's always great whenever we get more lore in the trailers or version updates!

I think this is why most lore-readers are annoyed at La Signora's untimely death at Tenshukaku. She has so much lore built up, but it was all hidden in artifact sets (Crimson Witch of Flames, Pale Flame). So most of the casual players Genshin only see her as "the evil villain who got what she deserved for kicking Venti", instead of the tragic character Rosalyne who lost her lover while she was away in Sumeru Academia whose "Absentee Archon" failed to protect his nation and his people.
I think this is why I feel like the moth motif of La Signora could symbolize her resurrection. Even if she never becomes a playable character, it feels like a waste to throw her character away just like that. I hope we get more Rosalyne lore in Sumeru during her time in the Academia.

@@kyo9922 She runs an orphanage called ''Home of the heart'', and as far as we know, the orphans there become child soldiers for the Fatui. So she's probably present in the lifes of those children that she raises as soldiers, and it's pretty damn ironic for her to talk about ''not wanting to make the children cry'' when most of them go to war because of her(again, as far as we know).

Relatively speaking, of course. There are A LOT of people who watched the Fatui reveal teaser that had no reaction to Collei or Dottore being in the game. Going further to express that most players don’t even read the in-game content the game provides (weapon/artifact lore, item descriptions, books)and for the millions that play Genshin, thousands is a few.

I ran across something I'd love your opinion on. So everyone has new "Gift" Voicelines. However, when I looked through Tartaglia's Voicelines, I noticed he now has a Voiceline for each Harbinger in addition to the "Gift" Voicelines that everyone now has. He actually talks about each Harbinger. Go to town on those Loremaster!

I think seeing people's reaction on both Collei and Dottore's reveal already indicator on who has read the manga or not lol (or at least aware of it)
And yeah it's very likely at this point that Mondstat and Sumeru will have a run in sometimes in 3.X updates since Hoyo knew how much a big deal Collei is towards the lore, whenever that update comes, i can't wait for a lot of wholesome conversation between Collei and Amber (and other Mondstat characters too)

Most likely we would deal with their receptionists. Generally speaking, playable characters don't appear in the game unless it is for a quest (RIP Madame Ping mains) similar to how neither Baizhu or Qiqi can be found at Bubu Pharmacy.

That odd moment when you start wondering if Mayor Pucinella appearing in the Teyvat Preview means he will be playable... then the awkward moment you realize that means he's the only one of this cast that is confirmed if true. Not the badass looking people, the guy that looks like a Gringotts goblin.
The big nose Pucinella might be his form when he's the mayor of Snzhenaya. He probably has a playable second form.

Personally, leaks don’t bother me but I know people like you are sensitive to it. Sooo... yeah won’t be talking about what has been going through. XXD
Theres no proof of that... all the trailers that they released are connected to each other so it is planned from the start... The only thing that convinced me that maybe mihoyo tried to counter the leakers is the schedule upload not the video it self.

The toxic side of the Genshin fandom is pushing a narrative right now that people are getting offended by the Sumeru designs because "they are too white". THIS IS JUST NOT TRUE and it is a gross misinterpretation.
Sumeru takes inspiration from Middle East and South Asian cultures, much like Inazuma is based on Japan and Liyue is based on China. As such, as soon as info started to get leaked, people from these nations pointed out some of the problems they had with them and gave feedback on how to improve them. While there was indeed *some* people upset about the lack of melanin, this was not much of a factor, as there's actually a lot of pale people in those countries. Instead, people took issue with the Orientalist tropes present on the designs and the weird cultural mix that came with it.
The most criticized design is Dori, because she is based on what's actually considered a harmful stereotype. There's more going on, but bottom line is that SWANA people got offended that the China and Japan-inspired regions got research and care put into them while Sumeru is just yet another orientalist salad of different cultures that could have been avoided had they done more careful research and stuck to just one culture instead of mixing them all like they are interchangeable. Because Liyue and Inazuma exists, and Yun Jin exists, so it is a fact that Hoyoverse can do better.
Instead, the fandom and Twitter made it out to look like they were whining that the characters were "too white" and just started being disrespectful and racist in general, with a lot of people getting harassed and even getting called slurs for trying speak reason into the reactionary mess that they turned the conversation into.
All in all, people are still spreading the "lol characters are too white!!1!!" misinformation, while the actual real people doing the complains have already sent emails to Hoyoverse about it and are rightfully saying that, if you are not swana/sa, then you have no right to talk about it. Only SWANA people have the right to get offended by it, and only them are the ones with the right to speak about it. Not the random twitter users, nor the clout chasers already making misinformed videos and calling it a "drama" or into a disgusting "SJWs getting triggered by these videogame anime characters" narrative.

Then they just need to make a dream solvent like item to convert boss ascension mats. Just make them limited so you can't just avoid fighting certain bosses all the way to ascension level 5.

I'm sick of other content creators talking about skin colors, dramas against each others, etc. Comon, this is a virtual game. I play it to dive into a different world so I can be away from all the shits this world has. Arnold's channel is the only one I'm following now, because I like seeing the creator focusing on lores and gameplay, and showing love to the character like I do.

Most of the other just farm for views by making videos on genshin topics that are trending, and this gets old for me after some time

Although tig-na-ri is the correct and actual pronunciation in Hindi, it is pronounced as tie-na-ri in Chinese as some kind of derived name so in a way Collei’s way of pronouncing it is still right,, hope it helps :3

Because in the CN pronouncation, Tignari is called ''Ti-na-li''...

al-tighnari isn’t an eastern asian name, it isn’t chinese so it’s not pronounced the way they do. countries have different forms of pronunciation of words, and how it’s also spelled in a form of convenience as a loan word to its citizens that aren’t used to other languages.
that said, based on arabic people saying this online, for english speakers or other non-arabic speakers, it’s easier to pronounce as “ahl-tignari” or “ael-tignari”. i watched a video last night in how to pronounce it, and the guy pronounced it in the accurate pronounciations: “attaghnari” or “al-tih-gh-na-ree”, the letter t emphasised, and with the gh sound similar to the french letter “r”, very throaty and like how you’re coughing up saliva.
It's not difficult if you are familiar with Arabic. The JP pronunciation is the closest to the original (haven't heard the KR version tho). It's just missed the letter "gh" (غ).
P.S: Tighnari name refers to an Arab agronomist, botanist, physician named Muhammad ibn Malik Al-Tighnari (الطغنري)

I hope we get a solid voiceline from Tighnari saying how to pronounce his name properly. For example Keqing says her name the right way but then others don't. It gets a little annoying 😅
If I recall correctly, Kayli Mills (voice of Keqing) asked miHoYo how to properly pronounce her name in Chinese. I can appreciate the extra effort she made to make it sound closer to the expected pronunciation.
Although, not all character names are pronounced correctly, the "yu" sound in Mandarin is not a sound made in English, so Ganyu, Chongyun, and Yun Jin are all not pronounced as they would in Mandarin. Which is odd because they seem to pronounce Liyue correctly.
@@h.4315 I never knew that! To me its simple things like putting the effort in to try your best to pronounce names that makes it better to me. To me pronouncing name properly should be the bare minimum or at least putting in proper effort into it
Arab here, no matter what people tell you and no matter how they pronounce it in game, it’s not “Tie-Nari”, the voice direction butchered the pronunciation. I admit the “gh” sound might be too difficult for non natives to pronounce so the closest most people can get is “Tig-Nari” which is better than “Tie-nari”. If you want to try saying it how it’s supposed to be said, I recommend looking up how to pronounce the name but don’t feel bad if you can’t get it right because the “gh” sound is really hard to make for most people

Hopefully after all the complaining from the community, Hoyoverse will add darker characters that actually look like they're from Sumeru. One thing is to have practically all white characters in regions inspired by Germany, China and Japan but Sumeru? Inspired by South Asia and Middle Eastern... It's really not that hard 😕
leaks show npcs are dark-skinned. however, i think they’ve always been in the game files. i don’t believe mihoyo/hoyoverse would change stuff at the drop of a hat, especially since the whole debacle started with LEAKS, not officially released content itself. it’s also stated in their TOC that they’re not responsible for things players might take offense to, although in this case it’s a valid concern seeing as the region is very tropical and based on countries mainly near the equator, where a large portion have dark skin and high melanin. i’m pretty sure they’re keeping things tightly sealed, and i think the leakers are also in an agreement with themselves to keep things lowkey. even now, they’re not really releasing leaks that far ahead, only focusing mainly on 3.0. there’s got to be more stuff to expect seeing as they’re experimenting already with body types (pulcinella as small male, and al-haitham as muscular tall male…👀).
