Listened to this song sung by all different singers. First time listening to Artitai, When I looked at the comment from Shreyansh Cool, I paid more attention to both the singers mentioned by him. I agree with Shreyansh. Asha's song is more Shringaric and Artitai's song has aartataa. . Don't know when it was written and composed what feelings were supposed to be in it. But both the songs awesomely sung.
Just my 2 cents. This is not "aartataa"? She might be a good singer but she cannot sing these songs because in her every song, arati tai tries to show her classical. Most of the times it is not necessary to take saragam and hit high pitch notes. She purposely do it because people like these things. Singer should never over-emphasize sur or lyrics. Listen to original song, you will get the perfect feeling of it. Lata ji and Aasha ji are more talented than her but they do not make every other song as classical. Unnecessary classical singing does not make a song listenable. Every song has character and purpose and singer should respect that. Arati tai fails there. You like it that is good.

AA has done a very commendable job I must say. She has sung this with appropriate classic touch. An Indian classical song is, can and should be sung in various moods. This is one of them and a wonderful attempt really.

I have heard this rendition for the first time; absolutely fantastic! Marathi madhe 'vilaap' ha shabd kiti apt ahe ha ganya sathi, one can actually feel the 'pain', the frustration in her voice. Asha is Asha but this rendition is certainly niche! apterahulya's comment is certainly my fav. good one.

Interesting observation. AA's full-throated singing allows her to hit the high notes with ease and yet doesn't jar or kill the mood because she projects a different mood altogether!
No doubt Aarti Tai is one of the greatest singers ! Asha Tai has sung this song so well that is very difficult to sing it in the same way for anyone else ! But Aarti Tai has carried the song well in overall ! However, her singing style is different than Asha Tai. She has taken this song to a higher level in terms of notes. But Asha Tai has sung it will lot of expressions which suit this romantic song well ! If I'm not wrong, in the third stanza, while Aarti Tai sings "usalati hridayat mazya amrutachya dhund lata", the word dhund (sung second time) has been sung abruptly (listen carefully from 5:08) and it sounds that she somehow managed it.. whereas, in the original version, there is a very delicate small harkat at the end of "dhund".. This is a minor point but as the song is so close to my heart, it struck me the very first time. I cross.checkerd many times before writing this.. Not necessarily the original song needs to be copied. Aarti Jee is one of my favourite and this song has got a higher level in her voice !
Hi All, I would like to let you know that the real meaning behind it is, there is this newly married bride who lost her soldier husband in a war and it's a "Shokantika" by that unfortunate lady. Really very touching. Aarti Tai sang outstandingly as always. Parat ekda natamastak tumchya samor.
