    Hello, Three questions if you don't mind: 1. Could you please tell us the weight difference between the original battery and the new one? 2. Does the new setup change the stability of the drone while flying? 3. How long can you fly with the new battery? Great job, Thanks for sharing with us.

    • @tapmad
      @tapmad  4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      1. Google is your friend for weights, lol, but seriously, lipos give you so many options that it is meaningless just to compare this battery. 2. Handling with this long battery is risky. Bebop 2 hates any weight outside of its original envelope, so any battery combination should fit within the original battery area. By the way, smaller lipos like 1300mah with 35c rating give excellent flight performance over a shorter time. 3. This battery has been a little disappointing, 25min hover time. Maybe back motors working harder to carry tail heavy battery. Next time I will try 2 shorter 1500mah side by side.. 4. I would recommend people to stick to Gifi 4000mah. Don't do this mod unless you really want to experiment with different types of batteries.

      @@tapmad ...absolutely agree...I did this mod also...and the Bebop2 is very temperamental about extra weight and dimensions outside of it's original design...
      It loses stability.
      The batteries I have used that are aftermarket,have worked well as long as you use a balance charger...are the 3100 mah sold by Powtree on Amazon...23 to 25 minute flight time...but dont charge them with the stock Parrot charger.
      Stock Parrot batteries and chargers are designed for each other... and dont charge Parrot stock batteries with any other charger...it may work several times but it will ruin the BMS board inside of the battery and cause failure in flight.
      I know from experience.

      @@tapmad Indeed I used a Turnigy Graphene 5200 mAh which is about 100 g heavier and flight time is just 14 minutes! and the battery reading of the drone was right, when I charged it again indeed the battery was as empty as the drone reported. Almost twice the capacity and only half the flight time!

    Just curious, do you loose battery voltage on the telemetry?

    • @tapmad
      @tapmad  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hmmm, I only use Freeflight Pro and, as far as I know, it only shows battery percentage, and this remains visible. Would love to know if FFP shows actual cell voltages...

      Try a lower C rating battery. It maybe a power protection mechanism.

    Hi.
    Do you think it's possible to keep original plug, and add xt60 plug? To have the twice.
    No need to put balance plug for power remaining in hud?

    • @tapmad
      @tapmad  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      There is an adapter bebop to xt60. A no-solder solution.

    So it’s safe to use with these kind of batteries the label on the parrot battery says 11v but the lipo is about 12+ volts when charged will there be and issue?

    • @tapmad
      @tapmad  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The parrot battery would also be at about 12.6v when fully charged which is 3(cells)x4.2v. 11.1 is kind of the middle at 3x3.7v, it's 'empty' at about 3x3.35v, 10.5v.
