Well, either I'm nuts or this is the most beautiful live performance of La Mer that I've ever heard. From other viewers' comments it's pretty clear that the latter is the case. No surprise that Maestro Altinoglu's contract with this orchestra has been extended another five years, through 2028. Did you know that Altinoglu's family, Armenian in descent, was originally from Istanbul? He is also chief of the La Monnaie opera house in Brussels through 2031. Oh, and he teaches conducting at the Paris Conservatoire. I've been enjoying his videos on TH-cam with various groups for about 10 years now.
Wahrlich wunderbar!
I've literally loved and listened countless times to this wonderful piece since i was 10 years old. This performance is stellar, brilliant, powerful and flawless.
14:53 mmmmm that whole-tone scale on the harp 💛 french impressionistic composers are so iconic for how often they used this, Debussy in particular. Always enjoyed Anne Bertrand even outside of when she’s apart of an orchestra.
Dear HR-SO, What more can the music-loving woman want than this revolutionary impressionistic post-Rimsky masterpiece by Debussy ... played by a leading German Radio orchestra which actually has Claude Debussy as a principal flautist 🤔😘🤣. I'm not the first or last to say that your decades of radio broadcast sound engineering from Frankfurt make these performances uniformly stunning as pure sensuous-erotic sound. Even splendid competitors such as the WDR just don't have your delicious Frankfurt soundscape. Imagine if Rachael von Wagner (as I call the "Magician of Bayreuth" - another Debussy-ism) had been born 40 years later. Not only wouldn't she have built that tedious Temple to German Cultural Reform, mostly motivated by mischievous teasing to see just how much gold Rachael and Cosima could scrounge from poor mad King Ludwig. No scruples at all. Instead the two ladies would have rushed to Hollywood, and also sponsored a Rachael v Wagner Radio Symphony Orchestra, from "Cosima Radio City", playing guess whose music-dramas 24hr/7 days a week! 🤣😇🤣 Love andrea
### 2. **Estabelecimento do Impressionismo:** - **Prélude à l'après-midi d'un faune (1894):** - Esta obra sinfônica é considerada o ponto de partida do impressionismo musical. Aqui, Debussy explora a fluidez harmônica e a evocação de imagens sensoriais. ### 3. A paleta sonora aqui é ainda mais rica e detalhada. ### 4.
Piston valve trumpets. Not the usual in major European orchestras including this one. Usually they're rotary valve. I'm not necessarily objecting, but why the switch?
Maybe because of the sound colour and projection? In France (Debussy) they always used piston valve trumpets... Furthermore there are piston valve cornets in the score and on stage.

We have been lucky enough to attend this concert live. Fantastic!
Absolutely one of the best performances I have ever heard in my life

Its a shame nobody will stand up at the end of german performances!
Thats not true. It happens a lot actually, but obviously depends on the audience. I've often encountered standing ovations in Germany

Fantastic performance and very bad camera work
I wouldn't want to be in the place of the violinists, we are no more than effects. also where is Clara? I missed her...
Clara Andrada de la Calle certainly takes turns with Sebastian Wittiber as solo flutists, so much depends on their schedules for orchestra duty.
As a second violinist playing this right now I can testify this opinion as being widely shared by other violinists
@@hansjuergenkohlhaas871makes sense for debussy to play debussy:)
A filmagem é ruim e ainda usam fora de foco fica pior
Sorry to say that that's not good enough for interpretation
youre crazy
You must be uncultured if you mean that
